In the front rooms, Jarred snorts. "Amen to that, sister."
You pass through the open doorway to reach the front part of the house.
Farmhouse: Hallway and Living Room
All doorways in the front part of the house lead to the front hallway, a J-shaped area with the short tail starting at the stairs, the front door hitting the bottom curve, the doorless opening to the living room halfway up the long side, and the also doorless opening to the kitchen and dining room at the very top. The hall has a simple wooden floor, and decorated with a generic print of soft-colored flowers hanging on the wall to the right of the front door, and a tall table sitting under the print which serves as a place to toss keys. A closet under the stairs serves as a place to hang coats or to toss shoes.
The doorless opening to the living room is halfway up the side of the hall's J, and the word cozy might spring to mind when looking into is, as it seems to radiate comforting vibrations. A long couch sits against the south wall beneath a large bay window curtained only by sheers that manages to obscure the view in but only filters the day's light. A variety of out-of-date magazines are strewn atop a low coffee table; more neatly presented are the plethora of books filling the small bookshelves which line the eastern wall. Three chairs sit about the room, focused inward, to allow group conversations. Large floor pillows are stacked in one corner of the room, except one, which lies carelessly in the middle of the floor, apparently left out the last time it was used.
An opening in the northern end of the hallway allows access to the kitchen and dining room at the back of the house, while carpeted stairs twist up at the other end of the hall, leading to the second floor. A door at the base of the J lets out to the front porch.

Lise glances up at Jarred. "Which bit?" she asks, amused, then waves a hand at Yi. From what Yi might have caught, someone's in the middle of the "So what are all these tribes, then?" lecture.
Alicia glances over to Yi and grins even brighter, definitly showing enthusiasm as she waves a hand to her. "Hey Yi!" She calls out, then straightens up, looking to Lise again with a clear of her throat.
Yi waves, looking a bit dusty though refreshed as she comes through to the living room. "Hello," she greets the occupants.
Jarred says "The passionate part. They've got more passion in their prejudiced little pinky fingers than most garou have in their whole tribes."
Jarred says "Oh, sorry.. is my bitterness showing?"
Jamethon just tilts his head back into the chair and sighs once again in thought as he dozes off right after calling over to Jarred. "Remind me that I need your help later, Jar Jar Shadow Lord."
Lise grins back at this. Enthusiasm is a *good* thing apparently, in Lise's eyes. "Next are the Get of Fenris. If you know anything about Norse mythology, it's pretty easy to guess where they originate - up in the northlands of Europe. They're .. very good fighters. The beserker concept springs to mind. Not that we all can't do that at times, but the Get are very much in that mold. Sometimes stubborn, but again, that's also a general trait of our kind. Very agressive fighters and very capable, as a rule." She then grins at Jarred. "Just a little bit around the edges, but it's such an interesting color..."
Nevada glances around, looking a little heartened at the sight of Yi. He creases a long smirk in her direction. Then, clearing his throat, he crosses to Lise and offers a smile, leaning in for a whisper.
Alicia nods her head again, soaking in that bit of info, then casts her gaze towards Nevada as he whispers to her Elder. Raising up a brow, she licks her lips, clicking her ball bearing along her teeth which protrudes from her tongue. "Gotcha..."
Lise glances at Nevada, and then at Alicia. She then considers. "Alicia, Nevada would like to talk to you for a few minutes, if you're willing. I'm fine with it if you'd like, otherwise I'll keep right on going."
Jamethon opens his eyes long enough to peer at Lise and adds. "You're leaving out the part where we Get drink the blood of our fell victims... enemys, and do rituals where we remove our own guts with silver sporks."
Jarred ooos. "Silver Sporks? Bitchin'..."
Yi draws up a floor pillow from the near wall to the kitchen, dragging it with her to what she's taken up as the best corner of the room to watch. She brushes off her jeans a couple of times before sitting down upon the pillow, giving Jamethon a look of mock disgust. "No better than the Talons, so I hear."
Lise grins at Jamethon, and spreads her hands in a gesture of mock-submission. "Ah, but I am not a Get, now, am I. Such things are not mine to tell off in such detail. Besides, then I'd have to describe the Fianna parties, and we're trying not to scare her off, remember?" CLearly joking, at least a little, in that last line.
Alicia blinks slightly at James, wrinkling her nose, then lets out a long sigh. "Sure.." She replies in a drawl concerning Nevada, then pushes herself up. Smoothing down the fabric of her sweats, she shrugs, heading towards and into the kitchen without another word or glance.
Alicia goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Alicia has left.
"Thanks, rhya," Nevada tells Lise, turning towards the kitchen.
Nevada goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Nevada has left.
Jamethon chuckles to everyone in general at this and just mutters something along the line of, "...n't know sarcasm if it..." as he dozes off to sleep.
Jarred adopts an outrageous french accent. "Ahh, to be young... and een looooove."
In the back of the house, Alicia strides towards the fridge and props herself up against it, crossing her arms. Fierce, dark pools glisten as they cast towards the young Gnawer, her lips losing the gentle, coggie features, turning back into that street thugish 'arizona', he knows so well.
Lise watches the two go, and then says, softly enough it won't carry outside the room. "I'm wondering how she's going to react."
Yi smirks, rubbing her hand on the sleeve. She glances to the french gungan of a Shadow Lord, somewhat expectant of anything he has to say in her direction.
In the back of the house, Nevada rubs a hand through his blond hair, crossing toward the counter. He paces a second, then glances at her. He turns a look toward the hallway, a frown working its way across his mouth. He says something in a low whisper.
In the back of the house, "No.. Not really." Alicia says in reply to the whisper, not bothering to be subtle as she tosses her hair back over her shoulder, a look of defiance hanging in the balance of her twin orbs.
In the back of the house, Nevada licks his lips, slowly, glancing around as if reviewing his options. His face is somewhat blank, flushed from the cold, and his expression is hard to read. Though it is safe to say that he may be wishing he learned Persuasion sooner. He blows out a breath, then mumbles something in Alicia's general direction.
Lise asks, after a moment. "Anything any of you want to correct, while we've a pause?" she asks, of the others.
In the back of the house, Alicia raises a brow upwards. "What do you have ta' be sorry about Nevada?" She asks him point blankley as she glances to him. "Sorry that I turned into a Garou so you can't get your rocks off at night anymore?" Ouch.
"Correct what?" Yi asks, unknowing of the context Lise speaks in. Lise waves a hand at the kitchen. "The 'These are the Tribes' lecture you came in on." she says.
You say "Well, I haven't heard much of what you've told them, so I cannot judge on that. If you've said anything about the Gnawer tribe, then I could perhaps add and such."
Jarred facepalms. "Lise... are there mops here? We're gonna need 'em before the night is over, I think."
Lise mmms, and grins. "I think she's handling herself just fine." she says, looking approving. She then adds to Yi. "We did Gnawers - Alicia asked for alphabetical." she says. "But if you want to add anything, that would be wonderful."
Yi motions with her hand in a roundabout manner. "If she has questions, she can ask them. Always good to learn more, so not to make mistakes," she comments with a nod. Her eyes stray towards the hallway and the kitchen, wondering how the cubs inside are faring.
In the back of the house, Nevada flinches slightly, appearing to be very interested in staring at the kitchen floor before he speaks again.
Lise nods at that. "Certainly. I was just trying to do the brief and minimal rundown, preerably with as few negative stereotypes as possible."
In the back of the house, Alicia shrugs her shoulders slightly. "Ok... anything else you want to say to me then?" She asks, growing frustrated, her voice becoming a low rumble in her throat. "I thought you were going to drag me out here to have a 'talk', not a "I'm sorry" session, cuz' I don't know what you gotta be sorry for. Life sucks, but y'know what? I gotta live with the cards I'm dealt with. So, the way I see it Ashley." She uses his real name. "Either your part of the problem, or part of the solution. Now, I gotta get back to my studying." She pats him on the shoulder, then strides back into the living room. In the back of the house, Alicia passes through the open doorway for the front part of the house.
Alicia has arrived.
Alicia offers them a brief, very brief smile, then plops back onto the couch, letting her legs cross, turning her full attention back to her Elder.
Jarred gets up and passes Alicia on his way to the kitchen, smiling.
Jarred goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Jarred has left.
In the back of the house, Jarred grins at Nevada, motioning him out the back door. "Let's chat for a sec, ok?"
In the back of the house, "Wait," Nevada starts, turning after her. He drifts to a stop, not about to follow her back into there. "Damn it," he hisses. "Stupid, stupid.. " He throws up his hands and makes for the door, not even glancing at Jarred and his little grin.
In the back of the house, Nevada slides open the door in the kitchen, passing through into the back yard.
In the back of the house, Jarred slides open the door in the kitchen, passing through into the back yard.
Lise grins back broadly at Alicia, waiting for her to get settled, but obviously approving of the way that was handled, at least what she heard of it. She then continues. "Glass walkers. They're the other tribe really interested in the cities. They're also very interested in using and manipulating technology. Some people think them too close to the Weaver, but the ones I've met have been very skilled and very .. intriguing thinkings. Outside the box, at times." Alicia nods her head as she listens to Nevada, feeling her heart wrench, but her face remains neutral and stoic. Its game-time, can't afford any mistakes. "Gotcha..." She says, pausing, then tucks the stray strands of hair behind her ear.
Yi arches her eyebrow only slightly towards the kitchen, but shrugs and decides it will not be her business to interfere in that. "They're also tricky sometimes," she smirks. "But they have the connections in the city's higher classes while we Gnawers have the words of the streets."
Lise nods at Yi. "That too." she agrees. "Next are Red Talons. They're all lupus. That means that they were born in wolf form, and learned how to shift to human, rather than the way you and I are, which is born homid. Most Glass Walkers are born homid - almost all of them, the other tribes are somewhere between, usually." She considers. "Talons are very, hmm. Anti-human, generally. I've never had the chance to meet one, but I'd like to."
Alicia nods her head once more as she listens contently. "Yah... Allie mentioned that they hate humans.." She says quietly to herself. "I'll make sure to be on my best manners around them."
"Manners or not, they probably take great efforts to listen to us," Yi adds. "I've not met one myself, or at least not knowingly." She leans against the corner, looking thoughtful in quiet muse.
Lise nods at that. "True." she says. "Next are the Shadow Lords. They're very good fighters as well, but also very good at ... politicing isn't quite the word. Intrigue and leadership roles of that kind. Ambitious, some say." Alicia raises a brow upwards. "Jarred told me that a lot of people see them as ruthless backstabbers who seek to conquer all the tribes. It really upsets him.. I guess he hates stereotypes."
Lise nods. "Stereotypes are not a good way to go about it. I've not met many Shadow Lords myself, but the ones I've met have been.. Garou. We've all got our flaws and our favors."
Yi chuckles slightly at the stereotype. "All the tribes who feel they are worthy to be at the top will battle for it," she mentions. "Not all Shadow Lords are as such, but maybe that is the way they are seen here. I heard of the Hakken, also relate Shadow Lords... but they are from my home in the East, not here. They'd rather die than betray their honor. A noble cause but sometimes it confuses them on their course of action."
Alicia nods her head and continues to soak in the information, waiting for the next introduction of tribes to begin.
Lise then continues. "Then there are the Silent Striders. Myth has it that they originatted in Ancient Egypt, way back. They wander - they don't have set homes or put down roots. But because they wander, they often know many ways of doing things, and many alternatives or pieces of information a more settled group may not know."
Shifting into the couch a bit, Alicia drapes her arms across the pillows, canting her head to the side.
Lise continues, seeing that that isn't met with questions. "After that are the Silver Fangs. They're very .. aristocratic, and a number of heros in Garou tales are Fangs. However, aristocracy isn't easy, if you know your history books. Russia, for example."
"There are a couple of Striders here to know, one is Sepdet and the other you've met, Allie." Yi comments, just throwing out a few names to give the cub an idea of who Striders would be. "They're also sometimes believed to be fortune tellers, those that bring prophecies of your fate if you believe them or not. The Silver Fangs I've not seen, but stories I've heard tell they are with the blood of the kings."
Alicia nods her head slowly and leans back some. "Ok.. I gotcha.."
Lise nods at that, then continues. "Then there's Stargazers. They're very mystical, and into things like figuring out how things fit together. They've also got some kinds of fighting that aren't taught outside the tribe."
Alicia says "That sounds cool.."
Lise nods. "I've not met many." she says. "But yeah, it is." She then considers. "The last two are the two native tribes still remaining."
Yi perks at mention of the Gazers, a tribe she is more familiar with than the ones of the West. "A special art of fighting," she murmurs softly. "Kailindo. My Sifu, was a Gazer." She rubs her hands slightly to warm them and busy herself in that manner.
Alicia nods her head. "I've heard of the Wendigo.. I spoke to Squall yesterday, a cub from their tribe. He told me a bit about them."
In the back of the house, Jarred steps into the dining room through the sliding glass door.
In the back of the house, Jarred passes through the open doorway for the front part of the house. Jarred has arrived.
Lise nods at that. "The other is the Uktena, who tend to be more mystical, but who have some of the same attitudes otherwise." She considers. "Then there's the lost tribes, but that, I think, can wait for another lesson."
Jarred says "Damn, I missed the Shadow Lord lesson? What'd you say about us?" He smiles. "Just curious..."
Alicia nods her head as she glances over to Jarred, not seeing Nevada with him. "Thank you for the help Lise.. I've learned a lot." She grins to the Lord. "Oh, the usual. Y'know..backstabbing, conniving, evil lil bastards. She summed up what you told me this morning." Her eyes flash in teasing comodity.
Lise grins at that. "And of course not. Politicing, yeah, but that's not always a bad thing."
Yi smirks and stifles a giggle, looking up to watch the Slord's reaction. In the back of the house, Collin steps into the dining room through the sliding glass door.
Jarred rolls his eyes in an exxagerated fashion, and fixes Yi with a look of such longsuffering martyrdom that she just *has* pity him.
Alicia pushes herself up to her feet, grinning as she nearly skips to Jarred. Pushing him playfully in the shoulder, she wets her lips a bit. "It was all /good/ things, really."
Jarred smiles. "All you need know about the Shadow Lords is that we do what is necessary. Sometimes that means the dirty work of our Utopian little garou society."
In the back of the house, Adam enters through the back door, with Collin in tow. He moves to the side, peering into the living room. "Perfect," he says, mostly to himself.
In the back of the house, "Yes. Everything about me is," Collin responds to Adam.
Alicia bounces back from left to right on the balls of her feet. Grinning, standing before Jarred, she almost seems to be dancing, but with subtle gestures. "So when can I get back ta'the city?"
Yi tilts her head and arches her brows in a feigned I-pity-you look to Jarred, then just breaks out in a giggle. After a bit she composes herself and nods to Alicia. "They do all the dirty work, using all their dirty money." She grins wryly and resumes leaning against the wall.
In the back of the house, Adam passes through the open doorway for the front part of the house. Adam has arrived.
Lise is settled in a chair. She waves a hand at Adam. "I just finished the Tribes 101 lecture." she offers, helpfully.
In the back of the house, Collin passes through the open doorway for the front part of the house. Collin has arrived.
Once again, Collin trails right along after Adam, seeming pretty damn at ease, though not really without tension.
Adam walks in slowly, seeing a conversational meele in progress He leans against the wall next to the hallway, a smile on his face. "Hello," he says, chuckling. "And not for a while yet, Alicia. I want you to get your bearings more, the Litany in particular." Lise gets another grin, while Yi gets a nod. "Excellent, Lise," he says. "And I have someone I want you to meet, too."
Alicia turns her head around as she spins on her heels, glancing over first to Collin, then back to Adam. Tossing the brownish and red streaked hair over her shoulders, she reaches behind her, tying it up into a tight pony tail. "Hmph..." Is all she can really come back with.
Yi looks up at the new arrivals, giving Adam a nod before looking over Collin.
Lise nods at that. "Certainly." she says, looking at Collin. That being the new person in the room she doesn't know.
"Everyone should meet me, of course. I don't know her either." He points at Yi, then steps back and does, indeed, make an attempt at a formal introduction. Waving his hand imperiously, he explains. "I am Collin. The one, true God of all the Garou Nation, which as Lucca would tell you, is here to save the world from devestation." He clears his throat, then adds, "Silent Strider Ragabash. Cliath."
Adam has heard all of this before, numerous times, from Collin. So, while he lets the others handle amenities, he asks Alicia, "How are things?"
Lise raises an eyebrow, and then grins. "Pleased to meet you." she says, obviously amused. "Lise, Child of Gaia Philodox cliath and all that."
Alicia raises a brow upwards at Collin's introduction, then rolls her eyes. "Yeeeah..... Someone has been hit a few times too hard on the head." She turns, heading to Adam. "Everything is good so far. I'm learning, which is the good part, and I'm willing, so thats less of a headache for you." She gives him a beautiful grin, dark and impish across her features.
"For all of us," Adam replies with, a slightly impish grin crossing his face. Odd, for the normally serious Philodox. "Tomorrow, I want to introduce you to Robert. He's out Tribal Elder."
"Nice to meet you." Collin agrees with Lise. "Yes, it is. I've been told that you want to go to the city to do some research and so on? We'll have to talk, obviously, as I can, like.. help you and shit."
Yi slides up to her feet, the amused light in her eye glinting at the Strider new moon. "Song Yi Ling, Three-Blades to Gaia's children, cliath new moon of the Bone Gnawers. I've no mission as great as yours, and so not as great a burden as you in take on." She grins, giving 'God' a respectful bow. "I'm sure Rat was very grateful when you named him the herald of the first year to the Cycle, Emperor of the Heavens." She laughs softly, straightening up and nodding to Collin.
From afar, to the room, Adam thud.
Lise nods. "So Adam says." she agrees. "And certainly. When would be good for you?"
Alicia stares up at Adam, finding herself easily lost within his near 'god like' features, clearing her throat as stray thoughts cross her mind. Reaching up to rub the red from her cheeks, she nods slowly. "Ok, I can't wait."
Adam gives Alicia a reassuring smile, while Yi gets an odd, but interested and impressed look. "One sec," he says to the cliath. "Adam Bowden, Dies-for-Others. Cliath Halfmoon with the Children of Gaia. Groundskeeper of the Sept of the Hidden Walk, Beta of the Guardian pack Vigilant Rampart, son of Wyvern. Greetings."
"Well, I'm glad we're all here to kick booty..right here, in Saint Claire, Washington!" Collin gives Yi a thumbs-up.
Alicia casts another gaze towards Collin, shrugging her shoulders.
Yi gives Collin a grin, before turning to the Groundskeeper and bowing once more from respect. "A pleasure to meet you," she greets in the ever accented British/Asian tone she carries in her voice.
Alicia glances to Adam and clears her throat. "You said you were going to teach me a trick to help with my clothing?"
Adam just gives Collin a confused look before he goes back to the cub. "Well, the best thing to know for that is to just be polite. It's the fifth of our Laws: Respect to those of higher station." He nods quickly. "I can do that now, if you wanted."
"Yeah. Respect my ass. No one else does." Collin sniffles and rubs it, muttering something under his breath about 'squealing like a pig'.
Jarred grins. "I respect it, Coll."
Jarred says "I just don't worship it."
Yi swallows a chuckle and looks with curiosity at Adam and the coggie cub.
Giving Jarred the bird, Collin pulls his hands back away from his rear and then looks at Adam. "So, cool."
Adam smiles, just so. "Yeah, cool," he says. "I hope it all works out."
Yi slowly slips back down into a cross-legged sitting position on the pillow beside her, content on watching the others. "Have you heard from Owen yet, Jarred, about the scouting?" she asks the Shadow Lord a bit quietly.
Alicia nods her head to Adam and smiles brightly. "I already figured out that part sir."
Jamethon stirs on his chair and blinks open an eye to see with amusement, that the room still has mostly the same people in it now that it did before.
Jarred walks behind Jamethon as he wakes up and snaps him on the back of the neck with a finger. "Hey. You wanted something from me?"
Collin looks over at Jarred as he snaps Jamethon on the back of the Get's neck with his fingers. He leans over to Adam and mutters, idley, "Let's hope he doesn't do that to a Get under a full moon, eh?" Yes, his tone carries humour.
Yi shrugs a little as her quiet question receives no answer, leaning back into the wall as if she would meld with it.
Adam sighs quietly, not really that joking. "I hope," he says. He purses his lips. "Alicia, I can handle that thing with the clothes now, if you wanted."
Jamethon grunts as his arm shoots up and over to catch the arm while his eyes blink free of his tiredness and he calmly lets go. "For fucks sake don't do that. It's annoying." He mutters, "Yeah... I could use your help teaching Toni how to fight. I need to mediate for her, and I know I can trust you to handle her without blowing your top too badly. Ya interested?"
Alicia nods her head to him. "Really, I can be respectful to my Elders." She says to Adam. "Believe me." Her words are inspiring, full of hope and honesty, which is rare for this young street thug. "But, I'm ready, so lets do this thing."
Adam nods, smiling again. "Ok, come with me. The Barn'll be quiet enough."
Alicia nods her head and waves a hand quickly to Yi, God, Jarred and James, then starts into the kitchen.
Yi waves briefly to the departing, and resumes her quiet observatory meditation.
Adam gives the group assembled a 'thumbs up,' and follows the cub outside.
Adam goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Adam has left.
Jamethon offers a quick wave back. Good thing she is meeting him on the moon as it is now, the first impression she is getting of him will probably be shattered later.
Alicia goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Alicia has left.
Jarred thinks for a long time about that before replying to Jamethon. "Sure. But I don't always fight clean, y'know?"
In the back of the house, Adam slides open the door in the kitchen, passing through into the back yard.
Jamethon nods to this looking up at Jarred with a feral grin. "I know! You think I want a theurge learning to fight like an Ahroun?"
Jamethon adds to that, "Thats how /I/ got all kinds of fucked up."
In the back of the house, Alicia slides open the door in the kitchen, passing through into the back yard.
Jarred smiles. "Cool. I'm in."
Jamethon laughs deep from his stomach and reaches up a hand toward the Shadow Lord he likes to think of as some kind of brother.
Jarred takes then hand, thumb to thumb and mock-arm-wrestles the Get. "You know how to get ahold of me in the city, right? Where I live and all that?"
Yi in spite of the banter between the two, closes her eyes to concentrate on things inward.
The larger Get happily takes on the 'contest' of strengths and nods his head. "Aye. I could find you in a city sized haystack. Just use my nose and follow the scent of blood."
Yi finally reopens her eyes, getting up on her feet once more. With a quiet nod, she slips out of the kitchen and through the backdoor.
