Logfile from GarouMUSH.

Currently the moon is in the waning Gibbous Moon phase (74% full).
Currently in Saint Claire, it is partially cloudy. The temperature is 61 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius). The wind is currently coming in from the north at 3 mph. The barometric pressure reading is 29.94 and rising, and the relative humidity is 97 percent. The dewpoint is 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius.)

Big Red Barn(#3420RA)
The barn is built in the old style, a vast three level structure that is greater in height than a mere three stories, actually closer to five. Great wooden posts support the weight of the upper levels and roof, sunk into the hard-packed dirt floor of the first level like a sparse forest of regularly spaced, naked trees. The stalls and flagstones which once were here have been torn out to leave a rather open area where even crinos Garou may roam freely without fear of running into anything but the supports or the walls or the ladder at the back which allows access to the other two levels.
The first two levels are relatively open to each other, the second being only little wider than a catwalk going around all the walls but the front one, which has massive, twenty foot tall doors set into it. The third level is a true second floor except for a place cut out that allowed hay to be tossed down to the ground floor when the farm was actually worked. Now, it is a hayloft where Garou can sleep outside of the house.

After the Fianna packs up his guitar and goes, Lucas is left to his thoughts again. He has to admit, it was a welcome distraction to chat with the Ragabash, but now that's over he's feeling the barn too quiet again. Still, he doesn't want to leave, and slowly begins practicing on the bag, more to distract himself than actually train.

Seems someone else can't sleep tonight, and so Kenneth too enters the barn with a passing nod at Rusty as the ragabash and he cross paths. The halfmoon squints with a look into the darkness of the barn. "You still awake, Lucas?"

"Back here." The quiet thump from the bag indicated the direction, and the Ahroun can be seen, sporting simple attire.

Kenneth has on his tank and a hastily thrown on pair of jeans, not minding the night's cooling chill. "Can't sleep?" he asks, moving in and out of small beams of light as he crosses the barn.

Lucas releases the bag and looks to the halfmoon. "Nah. I slept pretty... soundly last night." He moves away from the lump of stuffed canvas and perches himself on the hay.

Kenneth doesn't respond to that yet, moving over to a dimly lit spot over a haybale next to the ahroun. The night's sounds fill the silence between them for a minute, before he adds a quiet, "Yeah, you did." to the melodies.

"I...um...don't really remember what happened." Lucas says as he leans forward, his elbows on his knees. "I remember the deer, and the cougar, but it kinda all went red after that."

Kenneth gazes in the direction of the ahroun, black eyes mirroring the darkness within the wooden building. The halfmoon doesn't say a word, though.

Lucas furrows his brows as he stares at the other cub, looking annoyed at his silence. "I'm serious, what happened?"

Kenneth draws a knee up, laying his arm across it. "What do you think happened?" he asks rhetorically.

"I have no fucking idea, that's why I'm asking you." Lucas says sourly. "Whatever it was, it's freaking the shit out of me."

Kenneth looks away from the ahroun, his left hand twitching languidly a few times, as a cat's tail does when it's thinking. "You frenzied," he reveals. "Whatever it was, you just popped in your head and went after that cougar like you were gonna tear it apart. It ran up a tree and you turned on me instead." Here he turns to gaze at the ahroun. "You went /beyond/ frenzy. I don't know what the fuck happened either, but whatever happened, it was more than just a regular Rage-party. And after that, you came to from it somehow an' passed out, and I carried you back here."

Lucas presses his lips tightly together, vaguely relieved there isn't any news he tore something, or someone, apart. "So, Judge, what do you think I should do? Ask our Elders what the fuck snapped, or just keep it to myself and hope it doesn't happen again? Whatever happened obviously wasn't good, and I'd rather not be deemed crazy and get culled like Todd."

Kenneth stops twitching his idle fingers for a moment as he considers what should be done. After a moment's silence he replies, "If we don't ask, we won't know. And it could happen again if we don't know why." The judge passes his verdict. "Tell Jarred or Cutter-rhya, and see what they say. Either way, you didn't get the cougar, so it's not like you killed an innocent animal in frenzy."

"True, so it might not be so bad if no one died." Lucas nods his head slowly, "Next time we see them, I'll ask. Good or bad, at least I'll know what happened to me."

Kenneth guesses. "Think you're /too/ in touch with your Rage. I mean, we know ahrouns are like waterballoons just waiting for the right prick. Hell, even I'm like that... I feel it deep inside but I can get ahold of it. But you're like, just a touch and blam, you spill over." The halfmoon looks over. "You been trying maybe some meditation or whatever?"

Lucas shakes his head, "No, but after this, I should. Even Rusty said earlier I should find a way to relax. Cutter-Rhya is a Theurge, so he might know a good way, or at least someone that might."

Kenneth's hand comes up to scratch at the back of his neck. "Maybe you should spend more time out in the wild and just let instinct do its work." He pauses in mid-scratch. "There's this one cave. When I first changed, that's where Cutter-rhya and Jean-rhya had brought me to. It's pretty far out somewhere. Hell I'm not quite sure where it is still."

Lucas drums his fingers against his knee and nods. "It might help, get rid of the distractions here at the farm. It wouldn't be bad to get more in touch with the wolf, anyway, as long as I don't let those instincts get carried away."

Kenneth shrugs. "Of course there's a balance that's gotta be made. But when I think about it... we've been living like humans for what, 15 years. So, we got some catching up to do, learning about what makes us part wolf too."

"True, true." Lucas says, "And hanging out here or biting skunks in the ass isn't gonna teach us anything. So, it sounds like we got some chatting to do with our superiors. Sounds like there's still a lot to learn, and not a whole lot of time."

Kenneth nods. "There's a metric shitload to learn still, but at least we got potential." He stands up from the haybale then, stretching up and out with a strong, deep breath. "Well, better get back to attempting sleep. Won't be long before sun's up anyway." The halfmoon glances over. "Sure you don't wanna sleep up in the attic?" The question is asked with a faint smirk, likely lost in the dark of the barn.

Lucas glances around the barn and lets out a sigh as he stands up, yawing. "Yeah, think I will. Smells like rain tonight, and I don't feel like getting wet tonight or being surrounded by damp hay."

Kenneth reflexively sniffs, but with the human nose he couldn't smell rain if he wanted to in the musty barn. "A'right. There's spare cots up there anyway, since luckily Auggie and Miguel don't come up often."

Lucas grins a bit and shrugs his shoulders. "Hey, to a wolf, the floor is just fine." That said and combined with another yawn urges the Ahroun towards the door.

Kenneth laughs once, his tone a bit sardonic as he walks along with the ahroun to the doors and returns to the farmhouse. No floor-sleeping for him, no.
