Bawn: Eastern Forest(#2990RA)
Gradually, the dense forest gives way to more mixed vegetation, as trees become less pervasive and undergrowth takes over. Spotty clearings filled with short scrub and bushes dominate the forest floor, with only a few game trails to make paths through the tangled growth. The forest that is here seems to loom, as if resenting handing over land to lesser plants. Small rustlings come from the bushes and patches of high grass. Who knows what is concealed here?
To the north, the sounds of the interstate are audible in the distance, while to the east, the ground begins to rise into tumbled piles of rocks and shallow gullies.

Shortly after the return from the Revel, nerves calmed and gnosis recharged, Jacinta approaches the Truthcatcher. "Far Cry."
Far-Cry busily brushes himself off after all that running. It seems the Revel did him some good to ease out much of the tension built up from the moot. The Shadow Lord glacnes up when he hears his name, ears turning in the Wendigo's direction. ~Pierces Ice-rhya,~ he responds in kind, gradually shifting down to his birthform in the process.
Jacinta is silent for a long moment, gaze lingering on the Philodox. After a while she speaks again, her tone calm, full of consideration. "You wish to leave your past self behind you?"
Kenneth blinks in the darkness of the forest, sense reaccustoming themselves. He doesn't speak quickly, and the pause between his answer and the question is quite long. "In a way, I already have." His tone is more subdued than ever, as he searches the dark around the ahroun. "I'm not proud of it, if that's what you're getting at."
Jacinta nods slowly, several times. Then, after another pause, she says, "I would help you in that, if you wish. I can perform the ritual to Break with the Past, if that is what you want." Still, her measured gaze follows the form of the Shadow Lord. Much of the hostility of earlier days is gone; only mild trepidation seems to remain.
Kenneth again, is slow to respond. He doesn't move from where he's standing, though the Wendigo could get the sense that he isn't looking directly at her either. "That's... the rite that Grey had done on him, right?"
Jacinta gives a small nod. "Ii. And others. It allows the past to be split off from the person, detatched and left behind, so that the new person may begin fresh."
"And where does it go?" the Shadow Lord asks quickly. A little too quickly. "Does it make you forget everything? Does it right what was wrong?" The philodox's tone wavers with a tightening. He's holding something back, though that something is not hostility. "I thought Garou didn't believe in God and washing away one's sins."
Jacinta's head shakes. "The past does not go. And it is not forgotten. But there is a severing. A break in the line. Where before there was Dagger's Edge who calls himself Far Cry, now there would be an end. Spirits would know that Dagger's Edge had stopped, and Far Cry had begun. And the Garou would respect this."
Kenneth turns a little more, so that he can face the ahroun. "Would they?" The halfmoon is dubious. Cautious. "Can one rite truly change it all?" The Shadow Lord takes a step towards the Wendigo, black eyes searching for an expression. "It would mean that I'd lose everything I had."
Jacinta's face remains impassive, but her gaze is softer than any Kenneth has received in over a year. "No. It cannot change everything. Only you can do that. It only provides the break between what was and what is. If you behave as you did before, that break remains but the two halves are equivalent, and no spirit nor Garou will care that the severing was made. If you behave as you claim you wish, as a new individual, then what you were before will remain behind you. It does not fade. It does not diminish, but it is recognized as passed, and not part of who you are."
Kenneth swallows down, the step that was taken forward now erased with a step back plus one extra. His head bows at a tilt, gaze averting. "I..." He starts and aborts, his calm from the Revel crumbling on the edges. "I gotta think about this," he murmurs out, one hand squeezing into a fist and releasing.
Jacinta gives Kenneth a single, sharp nod. "You need not decide, now. I only wished to make the offer. My packmate thinks you are worthy, and I would see you given the chance to prove that she is correct. Remember that I am willing to perform the Rite, if you so choose." That said, she takes a small backward step, almost a dismissal.
Kenneth barely nods in return, his silence indicative of the conversation's winding down. The halfmoon turns his eyes up from the ground back onto the Wendigo for a couple of seconds, and then again he turns away. "Yeah," he replies quietly. "She's stubborn like that." He acknowledges the signal with another step back and half a turn. "I'll let you know," he adds in. "And... ... thanks."
"Ii," Jacinta calls, turning and walking through the trees to the east.
