The Prairie House: Main Floor(#2245RJ)
A small foyer leads into the prairie-style house from the front door. A set of stairs veers off to the immediate right of the foyer and curves around to the second-floor. The long, narrow hallway walls are a coral color with glazed porcelain floor tile the color of artifact clay. To the side of the front door is a LCD screen that monitors the home by a computer as it leads into the other rooms located on the main floor. The 'living and dinning room' are seen immediately to the left of the long, narrow hallway. The walls are a dark grey colored with slate-gray tiles which are covered by a plush red floor rug.
A linen-closet and powder room are seen on the right side of the hallway just before the kitchen. The 'kitchen' looks like the inside of a spaceship with steel appliances and a high-tech design. The countertops have a translucent, geometric aqua-tinted glass with a modern looking sink. The kitchen table is simply an angled kitchen bar with barstools that unite the nook with the kitchen. Connecting the garage with the kitchen is a utility room with a washer and drier. To the back right corner of the house is a 'family room' with a fireplace that looks as through it has been turned into an office. The walls are the same as the living and dinning room. The Master Suite is found at the end of the hallway to the back left corner of the house.

Master Suite  Outside

Xia has just gotten out of the shower and is dressed although her hair is still wrapped up in a towel. She walks into the kitchen as the phone rings to answer it. After several moments she hangs up the phone and begins to head back towards the bedroom.

The sound of the front door opening and closing audibly can be heard from the bedroom. Kenneth's footsteps are quiet as well, but again, audible. "Xia? You home?" The philodox's voice explores its way through the room, then down the hall.

Xia hears Kenneth's voice and walks out from her room. The towel has been removed, and she is now running a brush through her hair. "Yeah?" she answers, spoting the Philodox on her way towards the hallway.

Kenneth blinks briefly at the sight of the kin, eyes averting. "Just got outta the shower?" Taking pains not to stare, he clears his throat. "I went out for a little walk," he topic-changes.

Xia sets the brush on a small hallway table and walks up to Kenneth, tilting up his chin to look into his eyes. "And?" she replies. "I saw your note earlier, I was hoping for time to talk since we have both been busy."

"And," Kenneth replies slowly, "and I thought I should talk to you about something I learned after the last moot." Now that she has his eyes, they don't break away just yet. "Jacinta offered to perform a rite for me. It's one that... can erase your identity. Kind of." He pauses, gauging her reaction.

Xia gives Kenneth an expression as if expecting him to continue on, to explain more of this rite to her. She slips her hand to his arm, lightly gripping the forearm.

Kenneth wets his lips, head canting slightly to one side. "I made an announcement at moot... that I wasn't going to call myself by my rited deedname anymore. Dagger's-Edge, remember?" When he speaks the name, it is obviously with no love for it. "Lucas is gone, and so is Jarred. And, I think, that in a way, that I have to go with them. I mean, the 'me' from that time. I... I'm not really making much sense, am I."

Xia gives Kenneth an expression of confusion, although she is really trying to understand what he is trying to tell her. "Some," she replies softly.

"She said, it's like a fork in the road." Kenneth searches for the words to illustrate. "If I keep on going down the road I'm on, then I'd live with the... 'sins' that I've done in the past. If I decide to take the fork, though, I'd be walking down a road to somewhere else. As a different... person. Like, I'd... change my name." He drops the hand he was using to try and draw some sort of illustration. "What I'm trying to say is, I wouldn't come out of it the same guy that I was. That's the impression I get from it, anyway."

"Would you be someone else?" Xia replies. "Would you remember me?" Her head gently tilts to one side with her damp tresses falling over one shoulder. "So, its only a mental thing?" she adds, looking confused.

Kenneth shakes his head quickly. "She said it can't change everything. I think she meant... it was a spiritual thing. Like starting at ground zero." His hand combs through his hair and drops again. "Kind of like being 'born again', to use a religious metaphor. It's not like I'd become a monk or anything. Like, witness protection or something. You change your name, change who you are... try to start as something new. I thought I'd get your opinion."

Xia looks to Kenneth, a bit surprised as he has come to her to ask her opinion. She slips her hands into his, giving them a squeeze. "Kenneth, it is your decision what you want to do. I will stand behind you, no matter what."

"Can't say you've made the right choice," Kenneth says self-deprecatingly, though there is a reassured quirk at the very corner of his lips. "I don't think it would mean losing everything I had. But it sure seems close to it."

Xia lets go of Kenneth's hands, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. "I think you need to have a clean slate," she replies, combing her fingers through the Philodox's hair. "You've suffered a lot..."

Kenneth shuts his eyes, feeling her fingers graze by his scalp. "Maybe not as much as what I've put you through. This is a chance, though... to set everything straight again." His hand lifts, touching her cheek with a feather-light brush.

Xia presses her body closer to Kenneth, hugging him close. "When will this rite be performed?" she asks softly.

"I don't know," he answers, "I haven't given her my answer yet. But, I think I'll tell her soon. No sense in dragging it out any longer than I have to." He looks down. "Y'wanna go out, grab something to eat?"

Xia gives some room between her and Kenneth. Her hand brushing down his chest. "I am sorry, I am meeting some girls, but... would you like to come over to watch a movie with me later?" she asks.
