[OOC] Juliana lols. There's totally sterling roses all over the place, except in the entrance room.
While the entry way might seem normal, the rest of Juliana's house contains sterling roses within crystal vases on just about every table. Within the rose-decorated kitchen, Juliana has cleared a place in which to prepare food. She's currently in the middle of making several sandwiches, placing the ones that are finished in ziplock bags and then into a container.
Abruptly as if to show the impatience behind his gesture, the gate buzzer sounds many times as Kenneth, at the gates of the mansion, presses it on and off with his finger. He clutches his hand at his side into a fist, waiting for the kin to answer.
Next to the Elder, a smaller female stands. Or rather, she shuffles her feet, as if antsy, shifting her weight back and forth. She holds a Zippo in her left hand, lifting it open and closed as the pair wait.
Juliana lets out her own frustrated sigh as the buzzer rings... And so continues to ring. She abandons the sandwiches and makes her way to the door, peering out the peephole before she unlocks the many locks and eyes the pair on the other side of the gate. "It's not broken, if you were assuming so," she notes to them, reaching to press the button to unlock the gate. "What's the emergency?"
Kenneth at some point between Juliana's coming to the door to unlock the gate loses a lot of the impatience he'd exhibited as he takes off his finger from the button. A silent motion made to Bianca to follow, he pushes open the gate when it's unlocked and steps over towards the door. "Not an emergency, but something important anyway," he grunts in answer. Once closer, the hand at his side clenched in a fist holds a crumpled note of paper within it. Chewed on edges crinkle lightly as he shifts the grip upon it. "Are you busy?" he asks Juliana, "Bianca and I'd like to have a bit of a... family meeting."
Bianca does follow Kenneth in, throwing Juliana a salute on her way in. She doesn't look particularly in the know about the night's topic, but she /does/ look interested in the house, particularly all those flowers hanging around. "...You have a reception here or something?"
Juliana still frowns a touch as the pair approaches, even as she opens the door wider. "Not terribly busy, just preparing some sandwiches. I could make extra." Her gaze flicks over the new person as she locks the door behind them, and then she gives an almost accusing glance towards Kenneth. "Who's Bianca?"
Kenneth turns to give Bianca one of those 'put it away or I will' looks before turning back to Juliana. "She's new," he remarks to Juliana easily, "still working on her application to join the business. Bianca, Veronica. Veronica, Bianca." He does the brief introduction, clearly saving anything more for when they're further inside and settled.
At that look, the lighter is closed one final time and slid into a pocket, all with a broad, oh-so-innocent smile for the Elder. "Ronnie. Nice to meet you. Kenneth's told me... so little about you. But then that seems to be mutual, so can't complain too much, right? Right."
The tense tones have apparently attracted attention as heavy booted feet can be heard on the stairs, a few clicking sounds being heard as a large caliber handgun gets a clip loaded into it and the slide pulled back. "Julie?" Ryan asks, looking down over the banister at her and the two guests. "Is there something wrong?" he asks, his voice quite calm as he raises a brow, leaning over to cross his arms on the banister.
Juliana lets out a slight sigh, then offers a polite smile to Bianca. "Right. Wonderful to meet you as well." She pauses at that call from Ryan, then gives a helpless shrug. "So I have a lot of names. Just family, darling," she adds, turning to look up at Ryan.
Kenneth casts a glance up at the sound of the boots, shifts his gaze down to Juliana and she gets the next look that tries to read through her what he's doing up there. The attempt is perfunctory at best however, as the halfmoon waves Bianca a little further in to the house. "There is something wrong alright," growls the philodox as he brings up the crumpled up, chewed on note and holds it out to Juliana to take. "Read."
Bianca looks up at the louder footfalls, watching the other man come down before she looks over at Juliana. She crosses her arms and leans against a wall, a crooked, impish smile in her face. "Middle name, right?" She looks over at Kenneth, her inherent amusement not dimming even at the other's mood.
Ryan leans back up, standing to his full height as he comes down the stairs and tucks the gun into the back of his waistband and steps down to Julie, his gaze on Kenneth as he kisses the side of her head as he passes on the way to the kitchen. "Beer, anyone? I contribute to the delinquency of minors." he says with a slight note of humor.
"Right," says Juliana to Bianca, and she can't help but smile at that kiss from Ryan. "Come on and have a drink and something to eat," she encourages, starting to walk further inside as she reads the note. Her eyes narrow, and then she passes back over, smiling. "Well, Kenneth, I can definitely back that she wants that."
[look Ryan (homid)]
Tall and a bit on the bulky side, there is little to no fat on Ryan and it is quite obvious that he lifts weights more than in passing. His hair is a chestnut brown with blond streaks that run through it, kept short though what there is has been spiked up quite neatly. His features are rather sharp with high cheek bones. The bridge of his nose flares a bit, probably due to the fact that his nose has been broken on so many occasions. Blue eyes are so light that they might be able to be called a 'husky blue', his eyes narrowed a bit just out of habit from being in the sun too long.
He wears a white t-shirt and standard issue military fatigue pants that are just a touch bulky on him though they are held at his waist by a standard issue belt. On his feet are standard issue steel-toed side-zips. Around his neck on a set of dog tags.
Kenneth eyes the man with the gun, then dismisses the display of affection between the pair. The philodox seems to be the only one with a chip on his shoulder right now, it'd seem, as he snatches back the note and steps into the kitchen to further spy the food laid out. Still, he partakes of none. "Someone tell me where the fuck she gets off traipsing around onto tribe territory and leaving... demands like this," he snaps in general, although the weight of it comes to rest on Juliana.
"That makes you my new favorite person," Bianca says to Ryan, her smile widening and her sense of mischief right along with it. She looks down at the note, but it's pretty clear she already knows what it says, as she looks over at Juliana, "How are you tied into this anyhow? I mean, seems like she's trying to put you between herself and this guy's ire, yeah?"
"Voice! Language! Demeanor!" Ryan calls from the refrigerator looking at Kenneth and pointing out his infractions before turning to pull a few beers out of the refrigerator. "No matter how upset you might be, you do not show your anger to a lady and you certainly do not curse in the presence of one. Certainly not two, Ken. Simmer." he says, turning around and setting a few beer bottles on the couch, cracking the bottle caps and holding out out for Bianca as he takes a drink for his own bottle.
Juliana lifts her hands as she leans against a counter. "I didn't even /know/ about the baby until she sent me a text message last week, trying to make me the messenger between her and Kenneth. And why are you asking /me/. Quite frankly, I'm sitting here wondering if she isn't a lost Silver Fang kin with how... Special she acts at times." Julie glances towards Ryan at his comments, smirking lightly, but then reaching for one of those beers.
Kenneth winds up flaring in a particular irritation for the shortened name. "Kenneth," he corrects with a deadly icy tone. When he does turn back to Juliana however, his expression shifts one iota less hostile than before. "She focused on to you for /some/ reason. And /you/ are seeing a Walker too," he points out, significantly shifting his gaze in Ryan's direction for a lingering moment before it returns. "So yes. I'm asking you. If you'd /rather/, I could produce some mandate about this tribe's kin and treat this like the Wendigo have all so successfully done. I can't help but think it looks like I'm getting taken advantage of, here."
Bianca takes the beer with a nod of thanks to the Walker. Although, she does look somewhat surprised to hear him named as such. "This sept is weird," she mutters into the bottle as she tips it back for a drink. But, to the rest of Kenneth's statement, she can only nod. "From an outsider's prospective here? You gotta look at it from his angle. His two kin, both hookin' it up with the same outside tribe, and this one here," she says with a tap of her finger against the paper, "Making it look like you gals are all buddy buddy in this. Seems to me, if you /aren't/ buddy buddy, this this girl here," another tap to the paper, "...is just adding and /adding/ to the list of people she's making trouble for." She pauses suddenly and looks over at Kenneth, impish smile returning at full boil, "Hey, when do I get to meet her?"
"Kenneth." Ryan says, allowing for the correction, but he starts to step around the counter and then leans back against it. "You had better be smiling when you bring my tribe into conversation like this." he notes, taking another think and then looks between Kenneth and Bianca. "The two of you are barking up the wrong tree and if you so much as think you saying so is going to cause me to stop seeing Julie, thou cannest take a longeth walk off a shorteth pier...eth." His jaw squares a little and shakes his head. "You're making no friends by coming here and tossing accusations.
Juliana scowls at Kenneth, moving closer to Ryan, her side touching his. "I have been nothing but honest about what I've been doing! And I've been helping our tribe, you, haven't I? I've been supportive, haven't I? Despite my past, I've been willing to trust /you/ as Elder! And frankly, I'm a little old for you. And I was married to a Shadow Lord for over a bloody /decade/. Now, I'll agree that this other girl is completely insane, and that she's messing with you and everyone else /without/ the bloody finesse that someone like my damn father would have. She knows enough to cause trouble, and she needs to be dealt with, somehow. And I'll help figure out something, but don't come in here threatening /me/ when I haven't done a bloody thing to you!"
Kenneth's frustration hits a peak, staring at Ryan for a longer moment as he twitches in expression. But he forcibly pushes back his temper with a physical step back and a slight turn from the group. "I'm not saying any of that," he says after a silence. "I'm saying, this /is/ a problem. This /is/ one that I am dealing with. And I'm here... to... make sure that the fallout does not reach those who don't deserve it." He picks at his words, struggling along. "The solution seems simple to me. Get rid of her. But I have a feeling it carries unknown consequences. She's a figure in the community, both Garou and Human." He sighs out harshly, running a hand through his short hair.
Bianca doesn't seem to have much to add to the conversation once it starts to get heated. No, she just stands back, watching and listening and drinking. She looks over at Kenneth at those last words, lifting a shoulder. "Looks like there's unknown consequences whichever way with this girl. What is she going to decide to do next? She's trying to pull this kin in as a shield for her, leaving demanding notes... is she going to try to hold this child over the tribe? Or what else will she do? Is this all a big ploy to get the Walkers and us on bad terms? Do any of us even know?"
"All good questions." The Major says as he reaches over and puts an arm around Julie's shoulders, holding her against him as his eyes dart back and forth between the two Shadow Lords. "Far as I am concerned, this has yet to become a problem for the Glass Walkers." he says with a shrug and sets his beer aside and frowns a little as he looks down at the ground. "And whatever you decide to do about her, I think you need to leave Julie out of it. She's on your side and she thinks this chick's flipped her wig."
Juliana frowns at Kenneth's words. "There'll be consequences either way. We just can't let it hinder /us/. We have to stay above whatever she's doing. But she's wrong if she thinks I'm going to be her shield. If I thought she was being treated unfairly, I'd certainly speak up, but she's /causing/ the mess she's in." She then shrugs to Bianca. "If that's the case, maybe we should team up with the Walkers. I'm fairly sure she'd be a headache for them, too. The question is, though, Kenneth, do you want this child in our tribe?"
Kenneth looks over at Bianca in a long consideration, narrowing his eyes at her. "Don't give Danae so much credit," he grouches as he looks back to the wrinkled note in his hand. "And no, it's not a problem for the Glass Walkers as a whole unless they want it to be. As far as I'm concerned, the only way this even /matters/ on the subject of tribe... is assuming kin and child is treated as territory." The audible crinkle of the paper tells of the halfmoon's opinion on that. Distaste evident, he looks up from the paper to state, "Gaia decides whether a child has her Gift of change. Thunder decides whether or not a child gains his patronage." A beat, and he adds, "The tribe's blood should be preserved, but who's going to know? Quentin should have his kid, if he can prove he can care for the child."
"No one's saying 'Julie' is at fault. I'm just saying, this other girl seems to not want to stand in front of the firing squad alone, you know what I'm saying?" Bianca looks over to Juliana and Kenneth, though, "You're going to let him have the child? That's... generous of you. How so? I mean, how's he gotta prove he can take care of the child? Money?"
"Uh... There's a member of Quentin's tribe present." Ryan speaks up as if he's been forgotten, like the Walkers might not be represented in this discussion. "If it's his kid, then even if he cannot take care of it, he has the option of sending the tyke off to one of the relatives. Patrimonial lineage and heritage and all that rot." he picks up his beer again and takes a swig. "This problem comes down to a discussion between two people and only two people in my mind: Mr. Heap Big Shadow Lord over here and the father of the child. You're in charge of making sure she doesn't betray us all, Kenneth and Quentin has a right to his kid. So I think the four us us gabbing is a... moot point."
Juliana relaxes ever so slightly at Kenneth's last words, offering him a faint smile. "Giving them some kind of say would likely cause less ill will in the end." And that seems to be the last of what the kin's saying, as she starts to look a touch tired, leaning against Ryan more.
Kenneth turns on Ryan then and snaps a hard stare at the man eye to eye, straightening to his full height and saying with an even tone, "This 'Heap Big Shadow Lord' is getting real tired of your lip, Major. I'm a fostern, an elder, and the next remark you make that's going to make fun of either one of those facts I'm going to take as a challenge. If we can get through this 'gabbing' without any bloodshed... I'm sure we'd all appreciate it."
[OOC] Kenneth puts up Aura of Confidence.
Bianca looks over at Ryan like he was talking crazy, and over to Julie that way, too. And, it looks like she might have something to say, but when Kenneth levels that stare over at the Walker, she closes her mouth, watching the two instead of chiming in herself.
Ryan does not even attempt to stare back at Kenneth, raising a brows and shaking his head. "You think I'm going to fight you over a few stray remarks? Beat me black and blue if you want to." he says, pushing off of the counter to start packing up the pre-made sandwiches.
Juliana frowns at the talk between the two, and she lets out a sigh, shaking her head as she moves back. "Is there something else you need, Kenneth?" she asks, her gaze oddly regretful as she watches Ryan pack up those sandwiches.
Kenneth stares for some seconds longer for those words, looking almost as if he's about to do just that, but he doesn't make a move for the ahroun. Instead his eyes shift back towards Juliana and blink once. "Yes," he answers, stepping forward and slamming the crumpled note on to the counter top. "Burn this." And after that, the philodox turns and starts to let himself out from the kitchen. Bianca is left to her own devices it would seem.
"He's got a point. Us /sitting around/, /talking/ about this like talking's gonna make any difference." There is something... more devious hinted at in her tone, but only hinted at before Kenneth moves to make his exit. She waits a little while, letting him get a head start before she turns to look at Juliana again. "He's a fun guy, don't you think? Thanks for the drink." She even tips it up at the two of them before she turns to follow Kenneth out, jogging a little to catch up.
Ryan looks up as Kenneth slams down the paper and watches him turn to leave and then looks over Bianca as she speaks, giving her a nod in return before she follows after the philadox. He looks over at Julie after a moment and shakes his head, tossing the sanwiches into a small brown lunch sack.
Juliana glances over at Bianca curiously, giving her a faint smirk at her last words. "Gaia watch," she calls politely, then lets out a sigh. She moves to grab up the paper, crumbling it up. "There's still time to run from this insanity," she says dryly. "Family," she adds, shaking her head.
