By the Waterfall
The edge of the valley forms a sheer rock face on this side of the Caern, perhaps 10 meters straight up, studded with outcroppings and lined with narrow cracks in a tracery of spidery fractures. Over the top lip of this natural wall streams a narrow, glass-like sheet of water that hurls itself into a small pool at its base, throwing up spray to soak the stones there, the rock behind it, and the surrounding earth. From this pool the water flows in a shallow bed toward the southwest before disappearing below the surface of the earth again in what must be an underground stream.
To the west, cool mist kicked up by the falls mingles with warmer steam from geothermal sources; these mists swirl around the caern to the north. The caern's center lies northwest of here. You can pick out what seems to be a hazardous trail over rock and up the wall, to the side of the waterfall.

Three-Blades slips down towards the waterfall, ears pricked and paws padding to the quiet rhythm of the waterfall's roar.

Dante opens his eyes and glances over his shoulder. He takes a moment to look at the lupus. "Gnawer, right? I saw you at the Revel. What's your name again?"

Three-Blades, ragabash. The Gnawer in lupus whuffs in greeting. This one does not recall your name, either, but has seen you as well. Her head cocks to the side as she regards him.

Dante nods, turning around to face the Gnawer fully, his dark-skinned face wet from the waterfall's spray. "Dante Leaves-His-Past-Behind, new moon of the Children of Gaia and child of Owl. Nice to meet you again."

Three-Blades opens her jaws to let her tongue loll in a lupine equivalent of a grin. Dante. Shadow Eyes-rhya spoke of you when Jay and I were to scout the city blight. She pads closer and lowers down to her haunches, sniffing the man with a curious air about her. This one asks if you've heard the activity of the sewers, of something sending banes to the farmhouse.

Dante nods. "Yes, actually, I do. I believe the farmhouse problems have to do with the dump, as I caught a bane from the dump following me at the farmhouse a little while ago."

Three-Blades quirks her head at this, ears splaying to either side. She'd not thought of a dump for the origin of the banes. But then, she'd not been here that long. Shadow Eyes-rhya spoke to me, to gather new moons for the scouting of the city sewers. Ethan was the other to ask. He could not come, so Jay and I went alone. She gives her fur a shake, relieving the creeping feeling of the memories in the dark sewer. This one feels the rushing sense of trouble, and feels wary of the sewer. I ask, as a new moon, if there would be a time that we could gather for a second scouting mission into the sewer. If, you would come. This one is still considered inexperienced.

Dante tenses a bit, his face a mask of emotions. His lips thin. After a time of thought, he says, "Yeah, I'll come. And I'll try and drag Ethan's sorry hiney along as well. Is this in the Realm or the Shadow?"

Three-Blades had since closed her grin, ears now pricked for Dante's answer. As the new moon agrees to help her tail wags a few times. The Realm, she replies. Jay and I did not go into the Shadow, for safety. The source, we think, is the fountain at Osprey Circle. Banecruncher spoke that we should gather a few crescent moons as well. Eamon says he will help as well, should we need him. His territory lies there.

Dante nods. "Yes, well, all right. Just let me know, then, when you want to do this."

Three-Blades stands up to her paws and chuffs. I will. Thank you for listening, Dante. Then, with a brief departing whuff, she turns and bounds off in search of others.

Dante nods, sticking his hands in his pockets, and watching the Gnawer bound off.
