Junior shrugs. "Joey and I got back fairly recently, so we might not be up on all the news. He an' Ethan were having a good time the other night with Ethan's birthday present. Haven't seen Rina lately, so I can't tell ya about that..." He smiles.
Sepdet's face transforms rather dramatically at the mention of Ethan. ~A "good time", eh?~ she asks coolly. She sighs and turns back to look at the wall, the lines in her face drawing a little more taut.
Junior grimaces, belatedly realizing that was tactless. "Uh...been trying to get used to not being a cub. That, and looking for someone we met on our Rite..."
Sepdet reaches up to brush her knuckles lightly against a large raven-feather bound by a blood-dyed cord to her hair, closes her eyes, and breathes out. Then she turns back to the young fellow with a sigh. "Someone?" she echoes.
Junior nods. "Guy named Jason Carter. We were in the future on our rite...or something like it. We ran into him, and he helped us. Had a pretty hard time because of it, too. Wanted to make it up in advance, if he's real here."
Sepdet starts. "Um. This would not be a fellow who vanishes in a flash of light, I hope?
Sepdet adds, "I thought he had left the area."
A light thumping of shoes against stairs can be heard as Yi ascends from the lower floors. She stops at the top and nods her head to the two Garou. "Good evening," she greets with a slightly groggy tone.
Sepdet braces her arm against the back of the pew where she's sitting, and takes in the arrival with a faint squint before placing her name and returning the greeting cordially. "Hello, Yi."
Junior blinks. "Uh...no. Looked to be a mechanic, when I met him. Early twenties, maybe. No flashes of light..."
Junior waves. "Hi."
Yi slips into a pew near the Strider, gazing at the two before turning briefly to yawn into her hand. With a few blinks of her eyes, she turns back and quirks her head curiously at the two, letting her features do the inquiring.
Sepdet nods distractedly at Junior. "Probably someone else, then. Someone probably can help you with Questing Stone, if you're really intent on finding the fellow." To Yi, she explains softly, "I came in tonight to see about the cleansing-rite for Perrin. Only I don't quite know when it was planned."
Yi straightens out her head but doesn't lose her interest. Her dark eyes alight with a bit of concern at the mage's name. "If I knew the cleansing rite, I would help as well." She says this with a bit of regret, a bit angry at herself for not actually going out and actively pursuing important knowledge like this. At mention of Questing Stone though, she perks. "I know of the Questing Stone," she adds in. "Grandmother taught it to me before I left, so I could find the kinfolk I am supposed to search for."
Junior blinks at Yi. "Oh? Do you think you could teach it to me? I could really use it....and it'd be great for trying to find Joey's folks, too."
Sepdet looks between the pair of them quietly, expression drawn and a little preoccupied.
Yi smiles, nodding to Junior. "If it would help you in your search, then I have no regrets," she says, the meaning skewed a bit by her jumble of vocab. Glancing over to Sepdet, she nods and gazes at the metis curiously. "Ah, I had been meaning to ask you, if you had the maps for the sewers drawn?" Her question comes a bit hesitantly, as if she were hiding the fervor inside.
Sepdet nods. "Finished them before I left that night. Left 'em at the apartment."
Junior smiles at Yi. "Thanks."
Yi nods slowly, making a mental note to visit Signe's and pick up, or make, a copy. A smile flits over her face at Junior before returning to the thoughtful look she had before. A few moments pass by with silence.
Jay pushes through the doors, heading inside, glancing over towards those that are gathered.
Yi glances up and a soft smile tugs at her lips, as it does when she sees her ahroun brother. "Hello Jay," she greets him with a casual tone. "How are you?"
"Fine... is Nevada ok?" The warrior asks, right to the point. "Last I saw him, he was still sleeping..." Jason crosses the floor upon heavy boots, settling down into a pew near them.
Sepdet is seated on a pew one over from Yi; Junior stands conversing quietly. The Strider looks up again at the sound of the door opening, and gives her ex-pantient a faint smile. "You're looking better."
Jay nods his head to the Fostern as he smiles to her. "I am.. a lot better. I got some help from a friend of Elan's... a mage friend. Unfortuantly, he got sick after he cleansed me..so now he needs help..or he may die." His voice is teetered upon constant worry.
Sepdet nods urgently. "This I heard. In fact, I came here tonight for the rite to cleanse Perrin. But I seem to have gotten the night wrong; Jamethon was going to meet me here."
Jay hmms slightly to himself as he draws a knee up to his chest. "I want to learn the cleansing rite as well, since none in our pack has it."
Yi creases her brow with concern. "Perrin is still sick?" She gaze flickers to Sepdet. "What happens if he gets worse? I don't wish for his taint to grow anymore than needed. And if..." she shakes her head, willing away that thought.
Junior finds a place to sit, and listens quietly.
Sepdet looks at Yi with frustration. "I did not come all the way from my precious island, leaving it unguarded, to sit here and -talk-!" she snarls, starting to lose her patience. "I came to cleanse him. But he's not here. Elan's not here. That goddamned Get is not here."
Jay sighs slightly as well, rubbing the back of his neck, thinking slightly. "Maybe shit came up...I mean..who knows... Thank you for coming tho' anyways Rhya. Its appreciated."
Sepdet slumps and leans back. "Sorry. It's just..." she shakes her head. "The people who killed my dearest friend are just itching to take the island where she died, and I don't like leaving her grave there for them to spit on." She exhales. "Do you know where Perrin is, Yi? I may not be able to do a full rite, without help, but perhaps I can do enough to stabilize him?"
Yi calmly watches the Strider, knowing how frustrated she must be. Yi is even more frustrated, in that she can't even help. Jay's gratitude is echoed in her voice as well, "Yes. It's very appreciated. You don't have to help us, but I am grateful for such sacrifice." She wills the evergrowing concern down. She shakes her head negatively, unknowing of the mage's whereabouts. "Maybe he is in his apartment," she offers up.
Jay glances over to Sepdet. "I know where he lives at. I can take you to guys to him if need be...I talked to him earlier. " Leaning back, he pushes himself up, dusting off his jeans. "Maybe it'll give us a few more nights before he really starts dying."
Sepdet growls in a low voice. "No more deaths," she whispers, touching the Raven's feather she wears again. "Show me the way." She pushes to her feet to follow.
Jay nods his head and heads towards the door, pushing them open, striding out.
Yi rises to her feet as well, her eye catching Sepdet's movement over the raven's feather. "No more," she echoes under her breath.
[Sing with me now: Weeee're off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of... er... Ok, going on now.]
Perrin's Apartment(#3269RJh)
An almost tangible aura of calm and tranquility pervades this apartment. The walls are covered in white molding and trim, and a threadbare, ancient-looking oriental rug covers a good portion of the living room floor, which, slightly scratched and worn, looks like it has seen a lot of use. Along the main wall in the living area, a large bookshelf sits, filled with what appear to be sacred texts from various world religions, a few history books and some mystery novels. On the opposite wall, directly over a large old couch, a fairly large banner or tapestry hangs. It is white, except for a deep blue shape at its center ... a stylized image of the sun, vaguely celtic-looking. An old television sits in one corner on a faded wooden stand. In another corner, a small bust of St. Francis of Assisi watches over the quiet room. On the coffee table, white candles wait to be lit and a few magazines lie unopened.

Sepdet follows the Gnawers wordlessly, concentrating on the minor but necessary task of avoiding windows and car mirrors as they pass through the back streets of the city. She waits behind them when they reach Perrin's apartment, deferring to them in dealing with humans.
Yi stops next to Jay, letting him do the knocking.
Jay strides up to the door and knocks on it loudly, rubbing the back of his head. Opaque orbs glisten brightly as he clears his throat, calling out. "Yo Perrin! Ya there?"
Shuffling sounds from behind the door can be heard, and soon the entrance to the apartment opens. Perrin looks, frankly, like shit. Dark circles line his eyes. His hair is tousled, and he has a small sore on the right side of his mouth that looks rather painful. His eyes are glassy, as if he has been sleeping (or trying to, anyway). "... Jay? Hello, my friend..."
Jay shrugs slightly and slips his way inside, motioning the others to follow. "Peachy keen Perrin..brought some friends..ganna try an help ya in a small way. Soon as we can find Elan, we can try a bigger approach."
Yi offers a small wave, willing down the urge to wince at Perrin's sight. Her eyes slip to Sepdet, then back to the mage and Jay. "Brought help," she chirps, moving aside for Sepdet to step up.
Perrin wipes his brow with a towel he has in his hand, returning to the couch. "I'm pleased to see you all. Elan isn't coming, then?"
"Well, with or without him, we are going to try to help," Yi says, her determination apparent despite her not really going to do much more than watch. Glancing to Sepdet, she asks the Strider, "How will you start?"
Jay slips onto the couch next to Perrin, glancing over to the Elder.
Sepdet breathes a little easier as she crosses the threshold, a curious look of yearning blotting her out to words and chatter for a few seconds before she stirs at Yi's question. "With water," she says softly, moving over to the man's side. She kneels on the floor and looks him over from that position, holding out a hand. "My name is Sepdet. Without the help of Elan and others, I may not be able to drive the taint from you. But I will do what I can, for the sake of the Lady." She searches his eyes. "Do you trust me?"
Perrin levels a glance at the feather in Sepdet's hair. He blinks, wearily. "You know Chloe..."
Yi moves over silently to the other side of Perrin, ready to fetch whatever Sepdet needs for the Rite.
Sepdet nods, strain in her face. "As much as anyone can. It is because of her I am here. My hands must do the work of two now: mage and Garou." Her expression is bitter, but she shrugs it off as she peels out of her jacket, revealing a water-skin slung across her back which she shifts around to remove and uncork.
Jay watches intently as he toys with a lock of chin length brown bangs which constantly dip in front of his face.
Perrin says "What do you mean you must do the work of garou and mage, now? She is indisposed?""
Sepdet's expression tightens further. "Yes," she says simply. "Now. With your permission, I will do this thing."
Yi's throat tightens at Perrin's question, but she remains silent, watching with quiet curiosity.
Jay continues to watch in silence, thus is the Ahroun's way. Not understanding any of this crescent moon crap.
Perrin nods. "You have my permission, but I know enough about magic to know that hidden feelings and truths can distract the practitioner. There is something you are not telling me about Chloe. I don't... know her that well. We only met a few times. I was hoping that she might know more about Spirit magic than I, and be able to help me. I mean no offense to your talents, though."
Sepdet's face falls. "I love Chloe with every part of my will and soul, and I serve what she serves. But she's gone. She won't be coming back, Perrin. So I must do what little I can for you, which I know she would have done." She turns away from him, the unspoken answer a strain in her eyes. "Yi, Jay, follow my lead. Imagine water flowing over him, washing away the bad blood inside. If you can sing, sing. But it's the intent that counts, not the form of the Rite."
Perrin closes his eyes, whispering... "Can I do anything to help?"
Yi nods at Sepdet's words, swallowing the dry feeling in her throat and wetting her lips with a slight flick of her tongue. Sing.
Sepdet gives a shaky laugh. "I don't know, master Perrin. Your people's magic is an utter mystery and a wonder to me, no matter how many times I see it worked. If you can relax and attune yourself to Gaia's currents... or whatever it is you do to meditate...that may help."
Sepdet then begins to sprinkle small drops over Perrin from her water-skin, more symbol than substance, making of the ritual a dance. After a moment she begins to sing a different sort of tune, a wistful little lullabye that would seem more fitting for putting children to sleep than battling with the forces of the Wyrm. She's no Galliard, and her voice is untrained, but there are some odd wild chords and timbers that hint at spirit-voices, music heard on the other side of the Gauntlet.
Yi's tone starts soft, a near whisper. Her eyes drop down to narrow slits, listening to her brother's howl. The song starts as a hum of calm, one taught to her by a mentor, her Sifu, back in Hong Kong. Even the docks had their rhythm, the sound of waves lapping against the woody wharves, the occassional splash of the fish. She knows of few rivers, but she knows more about the ocean. And in that, her mind takes the mage to a crisp, blue ocean, where healing waves lap away the taint. Her voice grows to a mid-alto, taking on a distinct song of meditation and healing, like a Buddhist's chant.
Brown orbs fall shut as he lets his imagination wander. A cascading river, splashing upon the body of the sick mage, crystal tears washing away the pain. Jason feels his hands turn to fists, fingers clenching tightly, not knowing how to sing, but instead, howls. His voice is low, guttural, definitly no Galliard, but it serves one purpose, to banish the Wyrm, in the form of a war cry.
Perrin relaxes behind his closed eyes, all of the tension seeming to leave his body. His powers are useless to him and he simply disregards them, concentrating on the Theurge's voice.
Jay continues to sing outloud as the Rhya preforms her Rite. His bangs trickling back and forth along his cheeks, a brush of seriousness touching his features.
Much more at home in her native language, Yi's will is strong in holding the image of the mage being cleansed by the cooling waters of a pure ocean in her mind. The chant takes a noticeably melodious up and down, a mimic of the waves that wash to and fro, gently massaging away the feelings of pain and willfully purging the illness back to the abyss where it came from.
Perrin loses himself in the beauty of the rite, letting the sensations wash over him, willing himself to be cleansed of this taint... somehow.
Sepdet moves from head to toe over the human, and back again, letting the fine rain fall over him as she sings. A few harsh sounds creep into the singing, fitting better with Jay's yowls and fierce cries. She imitates the ragged cry of a raven as she works. It goes slowly, and eventually, the third time back to Perrin's head, she goes still, half-crouching over him and setting her hands on his shoulders. She looks down into his face, forgetting that her wild mop of hair and the raven's feather are falling down there too and may tickle! "There," she says faintly. "Be at peace."
Yi quiets down as the theurge's words come reaching into her mind. The image of the mage fades, fuzzing out of her in a dimming light. Even she feels a bit rejuvenated, and her eyes gaze down at the mage. "Gaia cleanse and heal you, restore you to the life full of health."
Perrin remains in that state for several more minutes before opening his azure blue eyes and fixing them on Sepdet. He nods... "Thank you..."
Sepdet steps back and sags. "I don't know," she says softly. "I thought I'd cleansed Jay, too, and it turned out my work wasn't enough. But we'll see. If you don't heal, we'll just have to inflict more Garou on you until we succeed." She gives Perrin a tired wink.
Perrin smiles weakly. "I understand..."
Sepdet adds in a low voice, "Perrin, do you know a man named David Cox?"
Perrin shakes his head. "Is he another garou?"
Yi gazes to the Strider, the calm smile reviving over her features, but she misses her words. Instead her eyes gaze across at Jay, taking on a hopeful light.
Jay casts his opaque gaze over to Yi's as he catches her hopefilled glints. His hands uncurling, flattening in his lap as he settles upon the couch once more. His lips twist back into a slight smile, motioning her over with a dip of his head.
Sepdet shakes her head. "Not another Garou. If you don't know him, don't worry about it," she says diffidently. "Anyway." She glances over at the other Garou and gives them a reassuring smile.
Perrin looks down, utterly beat. "I'll go to bed now.. maybe I'll be better in the morning... In any case, I thank you for doing what you could. I won't forget this gesture."
Jay smiles slightly as he runs a hand back through his hair. "Anytime bro..just take care of yer'self ok?"
Yi takes in a deep breath and releases in a long sigh. "I hope it works," her voice tinged with faith. Even if it doesn't, she knows they'd come back until it did go. Her head shakes at the mage's words. "It's what we owe, and we will pay you back until the debt is done."
((Long distance to the room: Yi wonders, does this rite thing, take Gnosis?
From afar, to the room, Perrin isn't sure.
Long distance to the room: Yi hm. Well, who'll take this one to Eric's mail? :)
Perrin pages to the room: Well, Sepdet probably should, I think.
Long distance to the room: Yi mrrs, looks at Sepdet.
Sepdet pages to the room: Sorry. I was briefly called on to be a Wizard elseMU. Back now.
You paged the room with 'No problem. :)'.
Sepdet pages to the room: Uh, I spend gnosis. The rest of you are just backup vocals. (After checking the book, la.)
You paged the room with 'Ah. Should look at my own book, lol. Guess we'll end this'n and head on home.'))
Jay nudges Yi and yawns softly. "C'mon, lets go home."
Sepdet rises to her feet and regirds herself, huddling into her jacket. "Glad to help. I would like to learn more of you later, Perrin, when you are well." She gives him a quiet salute, touching the feather, and then turns to leave with the others.
Perrin says "When I am well, I will tell you all about me and my people. Be well, and go in peace."
Yi glances at Jay as she's nudged, then gives the mage another bowing nod before following Jay out. "Take care, Perrin."
Jay waves to Perrin, then smiles to Sepdet, heading out of the apartment, going his way home once more.
Perrin nods to Yi, smiling warmly.
