Alicia is cleaning up the living room at the moment.
Yi comes in with a brief flush of breath as she jogs up from the lane and up the porch with yet again the faint smell of McDonald's in her arms. Of course, this time it's lunch, and not breakfast.
Alicia glances over at the door and the smell, blinking a bit. "Hey you. Looks like you come baring fries."
Nevada... and gags and chokes on orange juice sliding down the wrong pipe.
Yi grins and nods, glancing over as she sets the bag down on the coffee table, taking care to add a few napkins underneath the bag before setting the slightly oiled and salted bag down. "We have a new Garou in town," she says to the Coggie cub with a small grin. "I saved a counter kid from getting a 'cap popped in his ass' at McDonald's. He gave me a few extra pieces of food for the trouble."
Alicia slips onto the couch and settles a bit. "New Garou eh? Like...who is it? What tribe?" She asks curiously, being the Galliard she is.
"His name is Quincy," Yi replies, slipping down onto the couch beside the cub. "Or, Silent-Thoughts-of-Gaia." Reaching into the bag, she draws out a packet of fries and offers it to Alicia. "I don't know what tribe though... we were in a bit of a spot, public place and the Veil, na?" She picks out a fry and chews thoughtfully. "I invited him to moot with us."
Alicia waves the fries off, not really in the mood to eat. "Oh? You.. did? Hmm... you should maybe get in touch with Adam or someone y'know.. make sure they know. I don't think anyone can just pop into a moot you know. This is my second one I believe. I didn't see any strangers there.."
Yi slips the fries back into the bag and glances at the cub. "Hm. You know, you might be right about that." Her brow crinkles slightly. "I guess I should've asked before I invited..." she swallows the rest of her fry and blinks at Alicia. "Your second one? What moot were you at before?"
Alicia um's a bit and shrugs. "Last month? I think.. I kinda attended with the Furies. Anyways, I hope ya don't get in trouble for iviting that Quincy guy.. ya know if he's tainted or whatever?" She asks, curious.
Yi at this, chews on her lip just briefly. "No..." she says softly, though her eyes now narrow at this. All these troubles. Just goes to show, never talk to strangers. "But with a name like Silent-Thoughts-of-Gaia, how could he be?" Her look just gets troubled though, as she thinks a bit more about this. With a sigh of quiet resolve, she gazes across the room over the top of the McD's bag. "I'll have to find out before I bring him. If, I bring him. Maybe I can find a half moon to find out."
"His real name could be Lies-Through-His-Teeth." Alicia points out, giggling softly. "Talk ta' Adam if you can, or maybe Tecmessa. She's a half moon, and she has a good eye for this kinda stuff."
Yi nods slowly, somewhat feeling cowed. For a newmoon, who is supposed to be a questioner of ways, she certainly forgot about questioning during the brief interlude with Quincy. "I'll do that," she says softly. "I don't know either of them very well, Adam or Tecmessa... but maybe I'll be able to find them at the caern later." She then takes a deep breath and looses a sigh. "So... speaking of McDonald's... have you talked to Bernie about your brother?"
"Um.. she dropped off a letter of mine, but I haven't heard much since. Well.. Bernie kinda is spending all her time at Matt's house, so.. You know how that goes." Alicia leans into the couch some and wets her lips. "I'm hoping I can get off house arrest and possibly get visiting rights to the city someday. But its ticking me off that I can't...do anything."
"True," replies the Gnawer with no less conviction about cubs and experiences. "Why don't you ask Adam, at the moot?" She pauses, thinking that over. "Well, don't challenge him or anything. Of course, you'll need proof that you can handle yourself, but... I think you're good enough to do what you do without a shadow looming over." Yi takes out some more fries and chomps down before they get cold.
Alicia smiles and shakes her head. "Nah... I'm not ganna bother. I'll ask him after the moot. Not during the full moon. Don't need anyone pissed off at me y'know." She says softly.
Yi nods in agreement, taking a brief pause between bites to ask Alicia, "So I saw you cleaning when I came in. Need help?" The full moon, making the newmoon a bit listless, and so cleaning seems to be a productive way to end restlessness.
The door swings open, admitting one female Gnawer cub before it falls shut again. Bernie heads in, humming softly to herself, backpack hanging haveily from her shoulder.
Alicia opens her mouth to reply to Yi, but stops as she catches sight of her best friend. "Hey you." She says, waving a hand to her. "Big moot tonight. You going right?"
Yi looks up as Bernie enters, the cub's humming bringing a short smile to her face as she continues munching on now relatively cold fries.
Bernie flashes a bright grin at her friends, wandering into the living room to drop inelegantly onto the couch beside her, letting her backpack drop gently to the floor. "Hey. 'sup? An' yeah, I gotta see what these things are like..."
Alicia smiles. "Nothing much is going on. I've been to one once. Its pretty cool actually. You'll like it. Everyone is all in an excited uproar an stuff. Real neat."
Yi looks a bit more pensive, concentrating on her chewing it would seem, but she nods to the two cubs' conversation and adds, "It is where the announcements are made, and we get updated on everything that has been going on."
Bernie stretches a little, getting comfy in the corner of the couch, pulling her knees up beside her. "Well, people keep mentionin' moots, so I figured they hadda be important, right?"
Alicia lets out a smile, nodding her head. "Yah, they are important. Its like an age old tradition an shit for us fuzzies." Reaching up to her hair, she pulls it back, then slips a rubber band off her wrist to tie it.
Yi continues being thoughtful, furrowed brow evident of some kind of debate going on inside of her.
Bernie regards Yi a moment, head tilting to the side a bit. "Penny for yer thoughts, Yi..." she remarks, curious.
Alicia looks over towards the Elder and furrows her brows slightly. She has a good idea what she's pondering about.
Yi glances up as the conversation about seems to have stopped and attentions turned to her. "Mm? Oh... well, I was thinking about that Quincy I met today. He is Garou, I'm pretty sure. But... as Alicia pointed out... he could be tainted." She chews briefly on the inside of her lip before continuing, "I'm supposed to meet him at the church before the moot starts. Unfortunately, nobody but I have seen him." She runs a hand through her hair with a quiet sigh. "And I'm still thinking about whether or not to bring a certain previously gutted cub to the moot. Given his manners..."
Bernie makes a face. "Lacks-Social-Graces? He learned to keep his mouth shut yet, or is he gonna sass, like, Steven or someone if he gets th' chance? Onna full moon?" she queries, still quite obviously unimpressed with the cub. "...an' how d'ya know this Quincy guy's 'rou?" It's curiosity about something that might be handy, not a scolding. "'s there, like, signs? Like cubs have their kinfetches an' all?"
Alicia remains silent as she listens between the two, curious as well.
Yi rubs the back of her neck as if to soothe rising hackles, and replies softly to Bernie, "He guessed it after we chatted a bit. I was in McDonald's this morning, having some breakfast. Some brute came in a decided to pick on the register guy, since he didn't have enough money to pay for his meal." Her tightened lips quirk just briefly up to a smirk. "Stopped him with a bit of Force." She gazes back up at the two cubs. "But after that we went outside and had a little chat. I guess I have to learn not to talk to strangers so much. Maybe it's a good thing, or a bad thing, that he knew what I was talking about. But now... it might be a bad thing..." She shrinks a bit, not wanting to think about possible consequences for bringing a tainted Garou to the very heart of the caern.
Bernie thinks about it a moment, hating to see Yi looking so worried. "So didja do, like, intr'ductions? I mean, not that if he was tainted or somethin' he'd announce it, but..." She trails off, and then brightens, "Oh, hey! OKaie, here's a thing: is there a way t' tell if he's tainted? 'cause if there is, you c'n do it when he shows up, an' if y' don't know how, you c'n take him with an' -someone- at th' moot would know how, right? So they c'n check, an' if he's okaie, no harm done, an' if not, then we know he's tainted -an'- he's sittin' there surrounded by a whole buncha people who'd wanna do somethin' 'bout it, right? Like a trap."
Alicia pages to the room: Keep going without me. Just act like she's listening :)
Yi nods slowly at this suggestion, judging it made sense enough. "Neither of us know each other's tribes, no.. but names were exchanged. He is called Silent-Thoughts-of-Gaia, or Quincy." Her hunched shoulders don't relax much. "It's not so much I am worried what he is... it is what he might bring, if he is tainted. And the consequences of my oversight." She shakes her head slightly. "I should go... ask one of the elders around the caern. Not that they would pay attention to me, but..."
"Like what?" Bernie queries. "I mean, that he'd bring." Another moment's thought, and she adds, "...an' sure they'd pay 'ttention t' you, y'just gotta ask 'em right; why would they wanna ignore somethin' that might be important? LIke, you go, hey, I found this guy, he's a 'rou, an' I told him t' meet me at th' church t'night; how'd you s'ggest I make sure he's not some tainted evil guy b'fore I bring him by? I mean, okaie, maybe not -'zactly- like that, but mostly people like t' be asked their advice on somethin'. ...works with teachers an' adminstrators an' shit, anyhow." The girl grins slightly.
Yi blinks a couple of times before stretching up back to a normal sitting position. Or the best she can manage anyway. "Don't know, what he could bring. Could be anything from cold fries to a hive of Wyrmspawn." At that last note she furrows her brow. "But, that is why I should let someone know who can do something about it, as you said." She gazes to the newmoon cub. "Sometimes I think you're a better cliath than I am, Bernie." Her tight lips loosen a bit in a soft smile.
Alicia pushes herself up and stretches out her arms. Smiling to the two Gnawers, she passes into the kitchen. "I'll be back later guys." She says with a quick wave.
Alicia goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Alicia has left.
In the back of the house, Alicia slides open the door in the kitchen, passing through into the back yard.
Bernie fffts at that, rolling her eyes slightly with a dismissive little hand-wave, but looks rather flattered by the compliment. "Nahhhh. I still got -tonnesa- shit t' learn, an' you still gotta teach me lotsa it," she replies, smiling, "...I just got a lotta practice in minimizin' an' gettin' outta trouble. An' gettin' on with authority figures..." That last bit has a touch of embarrassed defensiveness in it. "...man, otherwise I woulda got suspended SO long b'fore I did..."
Yi lets a small chuckle slip from her, as she nods slightly. "True.. I still have a few things to teach you before you are rited. And after that... you can teach me." The cliath Gnawer manages a smile, meant to show that Bernie's encouragement is in fact working. "And for authority... don't worry about it. I don't think you'd have as much of a problem as 'Lacks'.
Bernie smirks slightly, a mischevious sparkle in her eyes for a moment, "...well, nah, 'cause I gen'rally tried not t' let them -know- I was th' one who put th' cherry bombs in th' staffroom toilets or th' sodium in th' water fountain... although, they -did- figure that one out. Still can't b'lieve I didn't get expelled for that, but it looked SO cool, you would not believe..." She grins at the recollection, and shakes her head.
"Sodium... in the water fountain?" Yi blinks at Bernie a few times, then looks as if she is keeping down chuckles. A brief pause. "What are cherry bombs? Er, other than the obvious..." Her eyebrow now arches inquisitively.
In the back of the house, Adam steps into the dining room through the sliding glass door.
In the back of the house, Alicia steps into the dining room through the sliding glass door.
In the back of the house, Alicia nods her head at his words, following along after him like a second shadow.
Bernie nods, grinning broadly. "It was like th' fourtha July in th' seven hundred quad!" she exclaims. "An' cherry bombs are like, li'l round firecrackers, basic'ly... th' toilets all totally overflowed an' it was like forty days an' forty nights in th' staff room, only without th' Ark. That one they never figured out who was r'sponsible for it..." She giggles, shaking her head. "Not onea my best days for common sense, I guess, but damn, it was funny."
In the back of the house, Adam enters the house through the back door. "Anyone home," he calls, in a friendly, disarming tone.
Yi scrunches her nose in an 'ewwwwww' motion, though the grin underneath tells of her obvious enjoyment of the mental image. As Adam's tones float into the front of the house, she straightens visibly, like a mouse caught with its paw in the cookie jar.
In the back of the house, Alicia peers into the hallway, then steps through the threshold.
In the back of the house, Alicia passes through the open doorway for the front part of the house. Alicia has arrived.
In the back of the house, Adam passes through the open doorway for the front part of the house. Adam has arrived.
Bernie pages to the room: (Welcome to our new FOX show, When Ragabash Attack...)
Adam walks in, ever-so-calm, his hands in his pockets. "Ms. Song?" he asks, politely. "May I speak to you outside for a moment?"
Bernie glances up as the others wander in, and lifts a hand, waving a greeting to them. At Adam's question, she looks to Alicia, and arches a brow.
Alicia stays silent and slips down onto the couch, letting her eyes draw down just a bit to the ground.
Yi turns her head, slowly, and rises from her spot on the couch a bit stiffly, like the student who'd just been called to the principal's office. Her own hands held a bit stiff at her sides, she nods to Adam and awaits the march outside.
Adam gives a quiet nod of greeting to the Ragabash cub, and walks across the room top open the door to the Porch. He opens the door, holding it open for Yi, awaiting.
You step through the front door, letting the screen door swing shut behind you.
Porch
A lathe-turned wooden railing runs the length of the porch save where the steps are, well-worn with use. To the right of the stairs, a wide swing is suspended from the overhang which shelters this area; to the left, a small table is the centerpiece for several chairs pulled around it, all of which face out to the front yard and the fields and trees beyond. The biting cold of winter is tempered somewhat by the sheltering of the roof, but it is still enough to make the porch an inhospitable place to tarry for long. Even the low shrubs seem to avoid it, their leafless woody stems closed in tight upon themselves.
An aging screen door newly refurbished stands between the heavy inner door of the house and the outside air. Four steps lead down to the lane, a number of pots with small flower seedling carefully arranged alongside them.

Front Door Lane
Adam comes out from the house, closing the screen door behind him. Adam has arrived.
Adam follows Yi outside, closing the door behind him. "Please, Ms. Song," he says. "Have a seat."
Yi would be visibly tense under Adam's eye, but does as she's told and slowly sits down onto the porch. Not the swing on the porch, but the wooden deck itself.
Adam leans against the front door, after it's closed. "alicia was a little unclear," he says, without preamble. "What...happened today, from the beginning?" he catches himself, bowing his head. "Please."
Wetting her lips slightly, she glances up to the philodox from her cross legged spot on the porch. "I was at the McDonald's, eating breakfast, and a man came in from outside. He didn't get any food, just walked over to the rack where they have work applications." Finding this a bit moot for the story, she continues without too much detail, "Well there was a little verbal skirmish in the restaurant between a customer and the counter, and I stopped it. I decided to tell the man I was sorry for the rudeness of some people." Chewing briefly on her lip, she takes another breath. "We went outside to chat, and.. I guess he understood what I was saying, when I was talking about gatherings and family... I was just excited about the moot." Her head dips slightly as she examines the porch wood. "He pressed on, and I got suspicious that he knew what I was talking about, and he got suspicious that he knew what I was talking about... and so we just played each other's hunches. I told him to meet me tonight, at the church, and I would take him to the moot. I...didn't think about the possibility of him being tainted... and the danger of leading a stranger to the sept's heart."
Adam hmmmms. "Well..." He thinks on this. "Well, Yi, you'll have to do this. He cannot attend tonight, because he has not presented Chiminage, as per the Sept Laws. It's not personal. Just, over the enxt couple of days, find out if he has any Taint, and get proof he is a Garou." He asks his next question. "Did he give you a name, and/or a Tribe?"
Yi nods at the orders and the first question, providing the philodox with answers. "I am pretty sure he is Garou... and his name is Quincy, or Silent-Thoughts-of-Gaia. I don't know his moon, or his tribe. We were, trying to keep a low profile." She glances briefly up at the halfmoon, regret in her eyes. "I had thought, maybe there was a halfmoon who could sense if he had taint, and maybe...that way it would be quicker to know." She swallows nervously, adding, "And.. uhm... if I could bring him after he was determined to be not of the Wyrm. Elan-rhya...brought me to the moot a few months ago, as a guest."
Adam nods slowly. "I understand. But, we have very little information, this time, so he cannot come tonight. Find someone who has Sense Wyrm, for the first part. I assume Elan already knew you were Garou, when he brought you?"
Yi nods again in confirmation. "Yes, he did." she takes a deep breath and lets a long, low sigh go, hunching as one would rebuked. "Would there be a way to tell, if he was Garou? I mean... he gave me his Garou name, supposedly." Her lips tighten a little more. "But Alicia also pointed out he could simply be lying."
Adam nods quietly. "There are ways. I can tell a Garou by scent, as a Gift of my Auspice. But, since I can't leave the Bawn, that would mean bringing him here, and I can't allow that until I have more information."
"So then...what should I tell him?" Yi asks Adam with a look of quiet confusion. "Tell him to stay in the church until the moot is over? Do you know of any who could leave the bawn and come with me to identify him?"
Kaz climbs the three steps up from the lane, a soft creak of old wood announcing her presence. Kaz has arrived.
Adam hmmms, thinking on that. "Well, keep him to your Tribe for the moment. Find out what and who he is, and if he's not garou and faking it, kill him. But keep him at the church for the time being."
Kaz, who seems to be heading specifically /inside/, drips pleasantly as she waves at the two in discussion and heads in the door.
Kaz opens the front door with a creak, and walks through, closing the door behind. Kaz has left.
Yi nods at this, thinking it is the best thing she could come up with were it to arise. "Yes sir," she replies quietly, her eyes still down towards the wood submissively. "I wasn't sure about the ways this sept accepted visitors...but I know now." Kaz gets a brief eye, then Yi's gaze drifts towards Adam's feet.
Adam waits until the Metis passes before turning back to Yi with a smile. "Sometimes, the rules confuse me. Just report to me when you have more information." He bows his head, smiling. "I will see you at the Moot," he says, "but I have to go set up now."
Yi dips her head in acknowledge of the philodox's words, as she looks up to him. "I'm sorry, Adam-rhya. Maybe I will know more, and find you after the moot."
Adam does smile. "Please do," he says. "Gaia light your path," he says, and heads off the porch.
Yi slowly rises to her feet as Adam heads off, bowing her head in a small motion. "Thank you," she says softly before the philodox goes out of earshot.
Tugging hard on the heavy door opens it with a creak. You step through into the living room of the house.
Farmhouse: Hallway and Living Room
All doorways in the front part of the house lead to the front hallway, a J-shaped area with the short tail starting at the stairs, the front door hitting the bottom curve, the doorless opening to the living room halfway up the long side, and the also doorless opening to the kitchen and dining room at the very top. The hall has a simple wooden floor, and decorated with a generic print of soft-colored flowers hanging on the wall to the right of the front door, and a tall table sitting under the print which serves as a place to toss keys. A closet under the stairs serves as a place to hang coats or to toss shoes.
The doorless opening to the living room is halfway up the side of the hall's J, and the word cozy might spring to mind when looking into is, as it seems to radiate comforting vibrations. A long couch sits against the south wall beneath a large bay window curtained only by sheers that manages to obscure the view in but only filters the day's light. A variety of out-of-date magazines are strewn atop a low coffee table; more neatly presented are the plethora of books filling the small bookshelves which line the eastern wall. Three chairs sit about the room, focused inward, to allow group conversations. Large floor pillows are stacked in one corner of the room, except one, which lies carelessly in the middle of the floor, apparently left out the last time it was used.
An opening in the northern end of the hallway allows access to the kitchen and dining room at the back of the house, while carpeted stairs twist up at the other end of the hall, leading to the second floor. A door at the base of the J lets out to the front porch.

Kitchen/Dining Room Front Door STairs
Kaz pushes in from outside, dripping gently. "Yo, folkses."
"Wal-Mart," Bernie replies, deadpan, and then grins. "...Nah, I was jus' takin' a few pictures an' I figured you might want th' ones you're in an' all..." She glances up as Kaz arrives, and grins. "Hey! 'sup?" She's sitting in the corner of the couch, by Alicia, with a small stack of photographs in her hand.
Kaz says, cheerfully, "The sky. The rain, though, it ain't. So you guys comin' t'Moot?"
Alicia glances over to Kaz and waves, a huge smile on her face. She actually looks good in these pics. Cool, she can put them on the internet one day and see if she can tease little boy's horemones. "Yo Kaz. Yah, we are! Just getting ready actually."
Yi comes back in, waving to Kaz again with a small motion of her hand. She doesn't smile as much, but looks pensive once more as she takes up a spot on one of the floor cushions on the far end of the couch.
Kaz heads into the kitchen and grabs a Coke out of the fridge. "Rock," she says, coming back. "I figured I'd stop by and take a conga line've cubs with me."
Bernie nods, leaning down to put the photos back in the folder. "Def'nitely,"
Bernie replies, "sounds pretty nifty an' all..." She pauses as Yi returns, and sits back up, photos still in hand, eyeing the other ragabash with a slightly concerned, questioning look, as she quirks a brow. Instead of asking anything about the proceedings aloud, though, she says, "...hey, Yi. I gotta couple photos of you, y' wan' 'em?"
Alicia glances over to the door as Yi comes in, swallowing lightly in her throat. Taking the pictures, she shoves them into her notebook, then places them in the crack of the couch where she keeps it as of late.
Yi glances up from her distant look, then coughs softly to clear her throat and focus back to reality. "Uh... sure." She blinks a few times, tilting her head to Bernie and the photos. Evidently, she hadn't been alert or stealthy to avoid being snapped by the Garou paparazzi. "He's supposed to stay in the church, for now," she replies quietly to their unasked question. "I'm supposed to find a halfmoon who can tell if he is truly Garou, and if he is tainted."
Kaz blinks. "Whozis?"
Alicia pushes herself up with a slight nod towards the Gnawers, then heads out the back, leaving them to their devices. "I'm going to the Caern. I'll.. just see ya'll there."
Alicia goes through the aperture at the northern end of the front hallway to enter the back room of the house. Alicia has left.
In the back of the house, Alicia slides open the door in the kitchen, passing through into the back yard.
Bernie flips through the pile quickly, holding it semi-privately, and slides out two photographs. She leans down again, sliding the rest into their holder, and then passes the other two over toward Yi. "Huh," she replies, "think maybe
Matt knows how t' do that? Or Cindy maybe?" She glances up at Alicia, watching her leave. "...later, 'licia..."
Yi rises to her feet from the cushion, dipping her head to the three. "Quincy, or as he told me, Silent-Thoughts-of-Gaia." She wets her lips slightly, then makes her way to the door. "I'll see you all at the moot. I have to go tell him he can't go..."
Bernie pages to the room: Well, there's only two of us cubs, right? We could risk bringing LSG I guess, and then no one has to stay. :}
Kaz says "Sense Wyrm? I got that."
Kaz says "Although I ain't no half moon."
Bernie snaps her fingers, looking at Yi, and points at Kaz, "Hey, so there y'go then, right?"
Yi pauses at the door, turning about to gaze at Kaz. She seems to debate something a moment, then tells the metis, "I'm not sure if I should...though... Adam-rhya did say that only those who are from the Sept can be allowed into the moot. I'm not even sure if he's Garou...despite the name."
From Center of the Caern, Storm-Singer can be heard to howl, ~~Garou of the Hidden Walk, we gather at the Caern under the Full Moon in celebration... Come one and all to join the Moor!~~
Yi does do a brief wave before she zips up her fleece about her neck a bit more to keep the warmth in. "Anyhow, I'll see you guys at the caern. I'll leave a note for Quincy, if I don't see him."
