Bernie is mostly lying on the porchswing, pen in hand, apparently writing on a small pad of paper. It looks like she's gotten distracted from whatever she was writing, though, as she's sort of staring absently off into space. Daydreaming, maybe; there's a hint of a smile on her face.
Yi comes up the lane, a familiar route for her nowadays, with a small bag in her arms. Seeing the cub on the porch swing, she shifts the package over to one side and waves. "Hello Bernie!" she calls, unaware of the pseudo-vacant state of the daydreamer.
Jolted out of her reverie, the cub squeaks, almost falling off the swing, and immediately flips her notebook closed as she rights herself. "Oh! Um...hiya,
Yi... 'sup?" Bernie asks, looking almost sheepish as she pushes her curls back behind her ears, where they refuse to remain, "...whatcha got there?"
Yi allows herself a soft laugh of amusement, but quickly pushes the bubbling giggle down. "Honey," she replies, taking out a clear jar with a bee buzzing around hive logo on it. "Think you have some time?"
Bernie mms, sitting up a little. "...ooh, I love honey... an', yeah, I guess I got some time, I mean, not like I'm doin' anythin' real important out here right now... had a couple things I was thinkin' 'bout doin' later, but that's later, so."
Yi slips the jar back into the bag and grins. "Well I was thinking to maybe teach you a gift. It's one of our tribe's gifts that we can use. Helps us when we're caught up in a battle. And it involves this honey." She points down to the jar inside the bag.
"...Kinky," Bernie replies, with a fleeting grin, eyes following the jar, and then nods. "...a'ight... thanks, sounds good t' me... what d'we do?"
Yi looks around, thinking. "Well it is night time, I think we can head a little bit into the fields and start there." She nods towards the fields beyond the farmhouse.
Bernie nods, "...yeah, a'ight, that sounds reasonable..." She trails off, glancing out toward the lane at the rather distinctive sound of the scooter, and grins, waving a hand toward Matt as he approaches, and calling out, "Heya! 'sup?"
Yi turns glancing over her shoulder at Matt. She gives the Fianna a nod and a smile, setting down the bag on the porch. "Hello," she greets.
Matt pulls up on his scooter (a vintage Lambretta SX, for anyone who pays attention to such things) and kills the engine. He pulls off his helmet, already smiling. "Oi, Books. Three-blades. 'licia. Oi'm fine; saw a lawyer 'bout a green card."
"Yeah? Cool beans, didn' know y' didn' have one... so what'd th' lawyer say then?" Bernie queries, pulling the little notepad and pen she's holding further into her lap as she sits on the swing. "Yi's gonna teach me a gift thing, I think..."
Alicia heads out of the house, hearing voices and the rumbling of engine in the background. Blinking her eyes a bit, she lets out a soft yawn and glances around at the assembled.
Yi shifts a little uneasily. Lawyers, greencards. Even though she would legally be an adult, she came to America stowed away on a boat. Or rather, packed away in a fishcrate. Rubbing the back of her neck, she churns a few thoughts before deciding to let Matt answer Bernie first.
Matt says "Not much actually. Oi fink the stick in her kyhber was lodged in her froat. She took down a buncha fings, offered to get me fake papers, then shoo'ed me out. Oi fink, though, she's goin'ta get me blister ta file for me. She married an Orthodontist, which makes you a citizen, or somefin' loike that.""
Yi gives Matt a peculiar look. "Fake papers? Orthodontist?" She blinks a couple of times. "What's that have to do with lawyers and green cards?"
Alicia rubs the back of her neck, then looks over to Matt. She gives him a long, steady stare, then slips into the one of the chairs on the porch.
Bernie snickers, "...so not 'zactly someone y'wanna 'vite over for a party, huh? Still I guess if she can get it all done right..."
Yi slips over to Alicia for a moment, asking her softly. "So, everything ok with you and Tom?" She lets the other two cubs talk for a moment.
Matt shrugs, taking his lighter and a crumpled pack of cigarettes out of his jacket pockets. "Apparently if you've got a relative that's a citizen, she can apply to get citizenship for you. My sister is a citizen by marriage, 'ence the orthodontist, so she can apply for me. Oi 'ope."
Alicia glances to Yi, her cheeks flushing a bit. "Everything is fine.. jus'not sure if he'll come back a lot tho'."
Yi gives both cubs with their replies nods, a little smile, and glances up towards the sky. "So..." She feels a little bit cold, but has since gotten used to the weather for the most part since arriving. Walking over and looking into her bag, she chews her lip for a moment. "Why don't we go inside? It's a little cold."
Matt nods. "Let me finish this oily, and Oi'll be right in." He shuffles a bit from foot to foot, but doesn't seem that cold. Furtive maybe.
Yi nods, picking up her bag and glancing around. "Well, ah, I'll go inside and make some tea."
Alicia hops to her feet and smiles, brushing her hand through her hair. "Sho', ah'll go inside an make ya'll something to drink."
Tugging hard on the heavy door opens it with a creak. You step through into the living room of the house.
You go through the open doorway at the end of the front hall to enter the large room subdivided into the kitchen and dining room of the house.
Farmhouse: Kitchen and Dining Room
Homey is the first word to come to mind when looking at the farmhouse's kitchen. Dark, wood-paneled wainscoting covers the walls to about waist height, dark beige wallpaper continuing to the ceiling. Twin refrigerators occupy the north wall, facing the large six-burner stove on the south. The kitchen counter runs the length of the eastern wall, broken only by the double-basin sink. Cabinets run above and below the counter and a twin-pane window is set in the wall above the sink. A small pantry is set into an alcove alongside the refrigerators, presumably holding the deep freezer as well as shelves of dry goods.
Some twelve feet above the floor, a large chandelier hangs from the ceiling, lighting the dining room and casting long shadows over the bar to the kitchen. A long table occupies the center of the dining room, three chairs setting along each side, and one on each end. On the west wall, a large window looks out on the trees alongside the western pasture. Set into the north wall is a large cabinet, its glass doors closed on shelves containing a full compliment of fine china and glassware as well as a few decorative nicknacks. On the east, a wide bar separates the dining room from the kitchen.
An opening in the southern wall allows passage to the front entryway of the house, while a sliding glass door in the kitchen opens to a clearing behind the house.

Hallway/Living Room Back Door
Yi sets the small paper bag down on the table and looks around. Opening a few cupboards, she finds a small kettle and fills it with water. "What sort of tea do they have here?" she wonders aloud.
Alicia mmm's and peers over her shoulder, sliding her arms around the asian's waist, giving a hug from behind. "They got raspberry and um.. herbal tea. Just normal stuff. Nothing fancy."
Yi turns slightly, startled by the hug. "Err... ok," she replies, taking a few moments to get over the surprise. Looking over her shoulder to the girl behind her, she raises a curious brow.
Alicia smiles and gives another squeeze, then lets go. Reaching past her, she takes out the box of herbal tea, drawing it down.
Yi fully turns about and blinks, quirking her head slightly. "Th...anks?" Setting the kettle onto the stove, she starts it on the heat while moving to a different cupboard and taking down a few mugs. "So, do you think he is going to come back, or will I go call him again?"
Alicia shrugs her shoulders. "After last night? God, I hope so. I sure as hell rocked his world." She can't help but blush a bit, standing at the Asian's side.
Yi smirks slightly, suppressing the amusement inside. "Well, he's certainly welcome to come back I think. He's kin after all." The newmoon turns and gazes at Alicia, the small smile warming her features. After a second or so she breaks off and goes to the bag on the table. "I think I read somewhere that some people drink their tea with honey. Do you?"
Alicia um's. "I heard about it, but I haven't done it yet. I heard its really good." She stiffles a soft yawn, then paces around the kitchen in thought. "Thank you so much for getting him last night."
Yi smiles, turning as the kettle starts to boil. "My pleasure," she replies. "It's good to keep in touch with friends. Even better he is kin. You probably already know it's hard for us to keep relations with 'normal' people." Turning off the heat, she stands by the stove for a little, relishing the warmth from steam and stove.
Alicia ndos her head in agreement, a soft sigh passing her lips. "Yah.. I guess. He's so wonderful too. I can't believe how much he cares for me, even though I'm a lot younger then him, and he's so scared. He must really love me." Pausing, she asks. "Where's Bernie an Matt?"
Yi blinks, though remembering to stop pouring the scaldingly hot water before answering. "I think they're still outside." Finishing pouring out four mugs of hot water, she places the kettle back onto the stovetop. "Should be bring these out, or tell them to come in?
Alicia pauses for a moment, then looks to her. "We need to just give them some time together." She doesn't say anything else on the matter. "Lets just have a girl talk."
Yi nods slowly, just putting two bags of tea into a couple of mugs and sitting down at the table. "So...what do we talk about?" Her dark eyes glance up at the galliard, curious.
Alicia sits down and shrugs her shoulders, grinning. "So how's Bernie doing in her training?"
"Well, honestly we have not started yet, except for that one session with Matt as the figure." Yi pokes the teabag a little with her finger. "I was thinking of teaching her a gift tonight, but perhaps later. I'll teach her when she's not as busy. How about you?"
Alicia nods her head and shrugs. "Um.. Ah'm ok. Not really hanging with my tribe mates as much. They are all busy, so ah'gotta wait." She grins, wetting her lips. "So I've been poking 'round with the rest of ya'll."
"The same, here," Yi replies, taking an exploratory sip of her tea. Finding it pretty good, she takes another and continues, "What do you think of this whole thing? The whole, Garou and Wyrm war and of the End Times?"
Alicia shrugs her shoulders absently. "I think.. well.. that it sucks if it happens." Her shoulders roll back into a sigh. "I'd hate to see us fail."
Yi nods slowly, sipping her tea slowly. "If we fail, I'd rather die than fall slave to it." She warms her hands around the mug of tea. "Sometimes, I think it's too much for us to handle. Or why we even bother. You and I, we used to lead some kind of normal lives, right? Until we discovered our gift... our..curse...our ability. I don't think I would ever understand why we were chosen."
Alicia shrugs again. "I don't see why I'm chosen either. But I hope I don't fuck it up ya'know. I'm nervous, scared as all hell." A soft sigh escapes her lips. "I just hope Gaia knows what she's doing when she chose me."
Yi chuckles softly, looking down at the tea and the ripples that waver inside the cup. "Well that's all we can hope for. And I don't think you'll... 'fuck it up'." She looks up at the galliard cub, a side of her mouth turning up in a smirk-like smile. "You've been doing pretty well I think. Once your get through your Rite, then maybe we can run around causing trouble all over."
Alicia starts to laugh. "I don't want to really start trouble. I really want to find a pack, then go back to the city and help the streets. Find my friends, get them back on their feet." She takes a sip of her tea, swallowing.
Yi nods, letting the tea slosh against her lips before she sips. "Well there's a lot to do in the city. Above and underground." Yi looks thoughtful, remembering. "Harbor Park's fountain still hasn't been fixed. And the sewers below Osprey Circle, or just the whole city itself, is a mess of fishbait." Her brow furrows slightly. "Maybe I ought to speak with Elan-rhya about scouting a third time. All we know so far is there are quite a few bad things down there. Enough for three packs, or more."
"You should." She pulls her lips back into a grin. "I want to help you when I can." Finishing off the tea, she places the cup back down with a soft thud upon the wood. "What is your plans for tonight? Teaching a gift eh?"
Yi finishes her tea as well, pushing the mug slightly to the side when she's done. "Well, I was going to, but I'm still trying to think out how." She smiles a little sheepishly. "Otherwise, it would be like the teacher going into the classroom unprepared."
"Maybe tomorrow," Yi adds, sliding up from her chair. "Well, if you need anything, I'll be in the barn. Bark, or something." She grins, walking over to the sink and washing out her cup before drying. "I'll see you."
Alicia smiles and nods her head, then goes into the living room. "Good night Song Yi. Have a good one."
