Rotem is standing at the back of the room, going through the empty cupboards.
Yi opens up the doors, not having much work today. "Yo," she says as she spots the cub.
Rotem looks to Yi, and moves over towards her. "Hey Blades. Got food?" The cupboards are all open, apparently he's been looking around.
"Not this time, no," Yi replies. "What are you looking for?"
Rotem shrugs. "Food. I'm starving. I get to eat once a day here. I'm hungry. If I dont get some f-food soon I'm gonna eat the paint. W-wouldn't be the first time either." He chuckles, looking to the wall. "But then I'd just have to p-paint it over again."
Yi blinks at Rotem, then heads over to the fridge to see if there's anything left. Which, apparently, there isn't. "Bloody hell," she murmurs, just amazed. "Some people are lucky if they eat once a day you know," she says, straightening up. Then she sighs quietly. "Alright then. We'll go get some food." She motions towards the stairs.
Rotem moves towards the stairs. Stepping up them quickly. "Back to your restaurant?" he asks softly.
Shaking her head, Yi opens up the basement doors. "No, to a market."
You climb up the stairs to the ground floor of the church.

Regan Avenue West, Downtown
For two or three blocks, between Thirteenth and Fifteenth Streets, red-brick apartment buildings alternate with the occasional small, struggling side garden or a small business. A pizza parlor decorates the corner of one intersection, and a relatively prosperous deli takes up space at another. Along one street, a fire station interrupts the other buildings, small but obviously in good condition from frequent need. Graffiti shows on sidewalks and on a few of the buildings, but is not prevalent. The road has been paved sometime within the last few years, to judge by the lack of potholes.

Rotem looks to Yi as they walk. "So, what should we pick up?"
Yi is forever perceptive and perhaps a little paranoid about who passes them by and such. "Fruit, milk, I don't know... we'll see. First we'll go get something to eat though. Never go to the market when you're hungry."
Rotem nods softly. "Meat." He says simply. "Lots of meat." He tries not to overly salivate.
You walk into the pizza parlor.

Garcia's Pizza Parlor(#2882RJM$)
The first thing some people notice when they step into this room is the noise: almost always there is some sort of noise, of music or conversation or the employees in the back, cooking. Others see the lights, harsh yellow-white over the counter and on into the kitchen in the back, a dimmer, indeed faint glow above each of the tables scattered around. No matter which sense is first engaged by the room, almost all soon are captured by the smell of pizza; the smell pervades the place, an aroma of melted cheese, cooked tomato sauces, various meats, vegetables, all subtle, yet all blended together into the overwhelming smell. The smell tells the customer that, despite the less-than-classy look of the restaurant, the product is, undeniably, almost guaranteed to be good.

In the corner near the door is a trio of video games and a soda machine. Scattered around the room are several tables; lining the back, the counter on which the pizzas are put before they are picked up.

[Looking at the people (+view people) There are several regulars who hang out at Garcia's. There're the kids, Jesus, Tina, and Pedro, who hang out by the video games, except when the police chase them back to the high school. There're the neighborhood folks who stop by for a chat and a slice, and maybe some business. Notable among these are Toni and Mo, a pair of black, leather-clad lesbians, and Misha, a runty little guy whom nobody angers, ever. There're also, of course, the staff, from Mama Louisa Garcia, the proprietor, to Antonio, the counterboy, nicknamed 'Wesley' for some strange reason.
Yi glances around at the people, the regulars, and the video games with kids in front of them. As Rotem comes in, she peruses the menu up top, but glances to the cub. "What do you want?"
Rotem hmms for a moment, then replies, "Nothing special" he pauses, "I'll take a large pizza, extra pepperoni, olives, sardines, hot pepper, mushrooms, and tuna." He adds as an afterthought. "Oh, and a large coke."
Yi blinks at Rotem, arching an eyebrow. "Tuna?" The nomoon simply shakes her head, and glances up to the menu again. "And one extra personal pan, just cheese." She pays the cashier, Wesley, and takes the receipt. "Let's go find a place to sit," she says to the cub.
Rotem nods softly, motioning to an empty table that hasn't been cleaned yet. "Lets sit there. They left some soda." He moves towards it, sitting down and quickly grabing the half empty glass.
Yi shrugs, and moves to sit over there since that's where the cub wants to go. "Can't be picky," she says softly. In a few minutes time (enough for Rotem to snag whatever pizza is left from the scraps), a busboy comes around to clean up the items and the table. It's about 15 or so minutes before Yi gets called back to get the pizzas, and she brings the steaming Italian pies to the table, handing Rotem his. She settles into the chair on the other side of the table and lifts out a slice of her cheese.
Rotem grins, looking hungrily at the pizza. "Mmm, want a slice?" He motions to Yi. "Highest in station." He prods a piece at her, one with a nice big hunk of tuna on it.
The nomoon seems to balk from the fish, but decides, hey, there's a first time for everything. She accepts, not without some hesitation though. The first bite gets a sort of appraising chew. "Not too bad, though... I think fish belongs on sushi and rice instead of pizzas," she says, before continuing to finish the slice and get to her own plain cheese.
Rotem chuckles. "Yes, its just so much better raw." He doesn't seem to be mocking her. "Although this canned stuff is ok here." He then pulls out a slice, placing it on his plate, and cutting it up carefully with his knife and fork. Rotem just may have some manners after all, but why would he cut up pizza? The answer reveals itself as he finishes cutting it up, and then begins plucking off the bite sized pieces and swallowing them down, almost without chewing.
Yi would much prefer to bring out the flavor with her chewing, but she does quietly observe the cub's knife and fork usage. "Haven't seen anyone eat pizza like that before," she says inbetween a bite. Her eyes again ping around the room, watching the kids at the video games, the cashier, and others eating their share of pie.
Near the video game's, comes a scuffle as always. A loud, rumbling voice, one born from the streets. "Yo Niggah, ah' said, where my cash at foo'?" A gangly looking black youth shoves another back against the wall hard by the collar of his jacket. The other young one, this one hispanic looking jostled. "Ey'. Its coming man... aight?" "No you lil' bitch, it ain't all aiiiight! Yo' you two weeks late, an dat'means, ah'm ganna fuck'n take ya out!" A heavy fist is slammed into the younger boy's stomach, making him double over, coughing hard.
Rotem looks to the scuffle, then speaks, not looking to Yi. "Can I go 'help' or should I stay out of it?"
You paged the room with 'Not _him_ again! From MickeyD's?!'.
Jay pages to the room: LOL He gets around :)
Rotem pages to the room: I don't know who it is, but can I hit him? :P
Rotem pages to the room: Hehehe, Typical ahroun. Whatever it is, first question. "Can I hit it?"
Yi finishes chewing her pizza, debating. Not so much whether or not to help, but how. She remembers this guy, of course. From an earlier experience in McDonald's just a few blocks west, she met the black youth again harrassing younger, weaker teens. A silent hand comes up to stop Rotem a moment. She's patient, and wanting to see the younger youth's reaction.
Rotem grumbles, taking a sip of coke. "Come on, let me just rough him up a l-little." He motions to the kid. "Come on, I'll just t-teach him some hummility. Kinda like I got t-taught."
Its the typical reaction. The younger teen stands up quickly after coughing, then slugs the black youth across the chin, letting him stumble back. Now, a brawl ensures from both sides. Unfortuantly, friends bring friends, and the arcade room is filled with thrown punches, kicks and biting. There's the sound of glass shattering, an arcade game getting pushed over, one person screaming out in pain from within the crowd. Yup, the managers are calling the cops and no way in hell trying to get involved. Other customers are getting the hell out of dodge, fleeing from the area.
Yi nods, and had figured a brawl was going to ensue. "We're out," she says to Rotem, replacing the pizza in the boxes and closing them up. She's still debating whether or not to get involved, but as she spots the managers on the phone, she motions for the cub to follow her as she picks up the pizzas. "Try not to get hit." That said, she gets up and attempts to manuever around towards the exit.
Rotem doesn't head for the exit, instead he closes up his pizza in the box and picks it up, then moves to the next empty table and takes that box as well, after he has five pizza's in his hands, he starts moving towards the door, stopping once as a youth moves past him. "Superbowl baby!" he grins, and then folds the pizza boxes under one arm like a bunch of books, the pizza's sliding in the boxes. He then runs towards the doorway, plowing down whoever gets in his way.
The ahroun bowls quite a few people over and barely escapes a punch thrown that connects with a heavy thud and an audible crack of someone's nasal passages. Yi manuevers her way through, ducking as some person deems her a good target to slug, but she blocks with a free hand and moves on. Soon enough, sirens wail and there's a mad scramble to vacate the restaurant. The pair of them manage to make it past the doorway though, and they head towards a side of the street that will be a little less occupied when people come to watch the scene. Yi mutters something incomprehensible. She looks to Rotem. "You get out ok?"
Rotem raises the mushed, but still just as edible pizzas. "Better then ok. I got food for the next few days."
"You have food, but we still have to get somethings for others," Yi says quietly, observing the policemen who dash in and break up the fight. She shakes her head, and opens up her own pizza box to view the still edible albeit a little squished and punched on one side italian pie. "How about we head back to the church, finish our meal in piece, and then come back out later to get the rest of the food..." Rotem nods softly. "No prob with that. I wonder what t-toppings I got in here."
Yi nods, and starts off back towards the church, where they'll have some peace and quiet to finish the pizzas. Unless, of course, someone barges in demanding money or something.
