White Stag: Pub(#3123RJ$)
The pub takes up the vast majority of the first floor of the building and is partitioned into two sections by the long, mahogany-finished bar that runs along both sides of the seperating wall. On the one side, the place has a more restaurantish feel: booths occupy the spaces beneath the windows, and tables with sturdy chairs are arranged in a pattern that allows waitstaff easy access. On the other, the place has a more typical pubbish feel: the tables are closer together, more stools belly up to the bar, and the usual barroom diversions -- color television mounted in a corner near the ceiling and canted down to provide a clear view to most patrons, a billiard table, and a few dartboards -- are present.
The decor of the place is much as one would expect. There is the obligatory Irish flag hung over the door that leads back into the lobby and a couple of neon signs and mirrors proclaiming this or that particular beer, while the mirrored partitioning wall behind the bar is laden with just about every liquor imaginable. Of note, however, is a particular painting that holds a place of honor near the bar rather than being comingled with other, more mundane paintings and photographs of Irish cities and landscapes -- it depicts in exquisite detail the last stand of a mortally wounded warrior who has lashed himself to a stone dolmen in order to continue to fight on, alone, against an onrushing army. Atop the dolmen, watching the warrior's courage in the face of death while spreading her blue-black wings as if in anticipation, is a large raven.
In addition to the archway that leads back out into the lobby, there's a pair of swinging doors marked 'Employees Only' that lead from behind the bar back into the kitchen and beyond.

Megan shakes her head to Eamon's question, food and drink before them and a wide empty circle of tables around them. The philodox keeps her voice below the volume of the sports on the TV to reply. "I'm not expecting any trouble, in fact. I just don't want this advertised as yet." She grimaces. "It's complicated. Like, Lili complicated."

Eamon looks slightly confused at the Lili comment, but shrugs it off. "Okay, I should be able to do it. When should I leave?"

She was talked into it really. Yi follows in after Alicia, looking somewhat out of place in the pub behind the Gaian galliard. When the two of them spot Megan, Eamon and Rafe, it is Alicia who waves heartily and tugs the Gnawer ragabash along, going to greet them. As expected, some of the patrons eye the newly entered duo with suspicion.

Yet another person enters the White Stag, coming into the bar from the cold. This one, however, doesn't steer clear of the table of Garou. Indeed, the young woman brightens when she spies at least one person at the table, giving a little wave to Megan and Rafe. She gets no looks of suspicion until she goes over to try and join the group.

"There's no huge rush," Megan says to Eamon, polishing off a potato skin. "Maybe right after the holidays?" she guesses, but then looks aside to notice first Yi and Alicia's arrival, then behind them, Bridget's. She smiles at all of them, and raises her voice to say "Hey!" before sliding deeper into the booth. It won't quite fit six comfortably, but there are spare chairs at the unoccupied table-for-four nearby. Rafe brightens considerably spying Bridget, and nudges Eamon, asking quietly, "Mind if I slide out?"

Eamon nods at Megan. "Sounds good. Hmm?" He looks at Rafe. "Oh, sure." He slides out and stands so Rafe can get up, then waves cheerily to Alicia, Yi and Bridget.

Almost dancing when she walks, Alicia lets go of Yi's hand after literally dragging her into the bar. "Hey guys!" She calls over, sliding right into the booth past Eamon, giving Rafe a wiggle of her fingers. "Ya'know, not a single phone call to say Happy Birthday." She says sternly to the pair, though her lips curl up a bit to reveal a hidden grin. "Oh thats right, ya'll went cross country on some wild and zany trip while I was turning the big Two-Oh."

Yi deems it better to grab one of the chairs from the unoccupied table rather than press further into the booth and cause discomfort with cramped spaces. She nods to each face, even smiling faintly at Rafe with a short bob of her head before she looks behind her and arches a brow at Bridget's arrival. "It was... interesting," she replies to Alicia. "I have never been to Idaho, or anywhere beyond St. Claire in the U.S. until then." There is a short glance to Megan, but not a very long one.

Lingering by the bar, Bridget smiles bright at the various others but appears to be waiting for the other kin to slide out of his seat. Her hands go into her pockets as she waits, watching the group.

Megan blinks with surprise at Alicia. "We were back on Friday, I just hadn't realized it was your birthday," she says, then cracking a smile. "Happy birthday." Yi's look is apparently either unnoticed, or chalked up as normal. "Out patroling?" she asks the pair. Rafe, since he's standing looks around at the newest arrival and in a voice obvious in his accent, asks, "Can I get you ladies something at the bar?"

Eamon sits back down and scoots over as far as he can to let the others have a seat. "yeah, sorry I missed that trip. You should tell me about it sometime. Yi, think you might be up for another trip?" He grins at the Gnawer.

"Its alright. I had fun on my birthday, getting my car broken into by a buncha posers." Alicia says with a laugh as she props her chin up in the palm of her hand. "Hey Rafe.. hmm.. something light, Bacardi." She drawls a bit, blowing a puff of hair away from her eyes. When Eamon speaks, her interest is perked easily. "Another trip? Where to?"

Yi looks up at Rafe, his offer taking her by some surprise. "Maybe some be--" she cuts off, before continuing with short look to Alicia, "-- water will be fine." The Gnawer covers up the flounder with a small smile, and looks to Eamon curiously. "Another one?"

Bridget shakes her head at Eamon. "Just wanted a bit of company," she says to the other kin. "Took a chance that someone would be here. So what's going on?" That's asked in a lower voice even as she smiles at the various garou.

Eamon looks around, then glances at Megan. "Getting a little crowded in here. I'll tell you the details later, 'kay?"

Rafe pulls up a chair from the other table nearer Megan's side of the booth than Eamon's, giving Bridget a grin. "Have a seat," he tells her, then heads off to the bar to fetch drinks. Megan gives Eamon a tiny right-shouldered shrug at his look, Alicia getting a curiously concerned look, but it's put aside for the moment to flash a smile at Bridget. "Bridget, have you met everyone? This is Eamon," she says, pointing out the Fostern, "Alicia," next to him, "and Yi. They run with me. This is Bridget Shanahan," she tells the Garou with a breezy kind of relaxed confidence, "my cousin."

Eamon smiles and waves to Bridget. "Nice to meet you."

"We've met a few times now." Alicia says as she relaxes into her chair, offering up a smile towards the other kin.

Yi peers back up towards Bridget once everyone's relatively settled, and herself introduced. She dips her head once formally again in greeting. "A pleasure to meet you." Then, trying to appear more confident, adds to Megan, "Your family is very large."

Bridget smiles shyly at the others, dipping her head a bit. "Nice to meet you all. I sometimes think we take over most of Boston," she adds to Yi with a little laugh. Settling beside her cousin, she puts her hands in her lap.

Eamon grins at Yi. "Of course. She is Irish, after all."

Megan's grin in response to Eamon is mercurial, there and gone, agreeing verbally with an, "Aye," before turning to look back to Alicia with curiousity. "Your car got broken into?"

Alicia nods her head, then side glances over to Yi for a moment, letting out a breath. "Yeah.. its no biggie though. I'm handling it." She says, propping her chin up in the palm of her hand. "They broke in and stole the stereo and messed up the engine. Tom was ripped when I got home with it."

Yi affords a smile back at Eamon, even if she might not understand what being Irish has to do with having large families. The return of the discussion to Tom's car causes Yi to meet glance for glance with Alicia, but then the Gnawer concentrates on examining the texture of the wood on the table, rather than adding input.

Bridget glances toward Rafe for a moment before returning her attention to those at the table. She's quiet but attentive, her gaze slipping from one speaker to another.

Rafe returns with Yi's water, Alicia's Bacardi, and three pints of beer balanced carefull in one arm, one going to Bridget, the other to Megan and keeping one for himself as he claims the last chair between Bridget and Yi. Megan gives him a grin of thanks, before looking back to Alicia. "Did it happen out here, or in town?"

"Happened in town." Alicia says, offering up a quick smile of thanks to Rafe, then slides her drink over, uncapping the bottle. It doesn't seem she looks like she wants to really go into detail about this story. She continues to glance over to Yi at times, then slowly begins to drink. "Its ganna be fixed though."

Pack> Alicia lets slip a bit of frustration through the packlink.

Yi thanks Rafe for the water, looking at first like she's going to down the entire glass in a couple of seconds, but then schools her drinking to a couple of sips. She glances back to Alicia, almost apologetically to the point that her invisible ears would be slipped back. "Cars are... not very safe things," she says quietly before looking over to Bridget. "So, you are from Boston too. My grandmother, she said that the best thing about Boston food was their seafood... but I do not know if that is true, because she has never been to the U.S."

Taking a long pull of her beer, Bridget shrugs at Yi. "I've not been out of Boston much. But yeah, we have damn good seafood there. Especially lobsters, of course. But the rest is pretty good too."

"Mmm, scallops," is Megan's addition to Bridget's observations, but then shoots Alicia a quizzical look, assessing, before her voice drops down under the volume of the TV coversage. "So, whose watching Hope and Dr. Vissum with you two here?"

Yi actually brightens a bit and bobs her head. "Atlantic lobster, boiled with a little bit of salt in the water, and served with butter and lemon slices..." The Gnawer starts to ramble, or realizes she is starting to, as she quickly glances back to the others and clears her throat, face flushing a bit. When Megan adds in the factor of Hope and Dr. Vissum, the ragabash immediately bites the inside of her lip and glances to Alicia.

Bridget frowns faintly, looking a bit confused. Rafe gets another quizzical look.

"Dakota and Trevor." Alicia says. "They seem to have something going with the girl. She's warming up to 'em." She admits as she runs her finger along the top of her drink, staring at the liquid inside. "Did Trevor fill you in on everything?" She asks in a soft voice, making sure it strays beneath the volume of music.

Eamon nods. "Spent some time in Beantown myself. Damn good chowdah." His accent veers heavily Bostonian. "Who're Hope and Dr. Vissum?"

"Ran into him the other day," Megan says diffidently. "I think he probably told me enough. I asked him to take Taslyn out and talk to both of them, as a halfmoon, see if everything is on the level. I'll admit that I'm more than a little bit suspicious about the story Trevor related to me."

Yi virtually turns into a shadow compared to that brief moment of brightness when things had been about food. Staring into her drink, she mumbles, "It is a horrible thing, what he did to her."

Bridget looks from one garou to another and clearly wants to ask what this is about. She chooses, however, to stay low, listening but keeping her beer in front of her.

"Yeah.. that whole thing perplexes me. He seems ready to die without a care in the world. Yet.. he really does like Hope and seems to care for her well being." Alicia murmurs, then takes another sip off the bottle, swallowing heavily.

Yi looks up from her drink afterwards, glancing to Bridget. Though she might want to explain and the look in her eyes would indicate so, she doesn't proceed to. Instead, Yi turns her gaze back to Megan and the others.

Megan glances at Eamon, then looks to Alicia. "You were there, you tell him?"

Bridget gives Yi a small smile but clearly is a smart enough to not draw to much attention to herself.

Alicia tilts her head a bit and glances about the table, then clears her throat. ".. Now?" She asks with a slight grin. "Probably a story better left outside back in our turf, that way I can really let it out and not whisper it."

Eamon nods. "Okay, no prob."

Yi shakes her head slowly, her grip around the water glass tightening. "He did terrible things, that Dr. Vissum," the Gnawer hisses out as she stares into her glass. "And Hope... she does not know how much she has been hurt. She even... loves him, like a father. He treated her like a lab rat, cutting her, sticking needles in, and her throat..." And the Gnawer shakes her head again, this time quickly, wanting to push away the bad feelings as she remembers the present company. Undeniably, the Gnawer's tension moves up a level with the very thought.

Megan's voice is quiet, soft even, but her gaze is steely. "And how do we know she's not lying? Not trying to garner our sympathy to lull us into a false sense of security, to prey on our soft-heartedness in order to take advantage of us?"

Eamon finishes the rest of his Guinness and makes to get up. "'Scuse me. I gotta head out, guys, I need to patrol a bit." He tenses as he hears Yi describe Hope's treatment, hands clenching. He shakes his head. "Tell me later. See you guys."

Pack> Yi clearly leaks out that babbling brook of Rage when she thinks about the not-so-good Doctor.

Alicia tilts her head over towards Eamon a bit, nodding, then lets out a breath. ".. She's like what? Twelve at the most?" She says softly, glancing to Megan. "I don't know why she'd lie.. I couldn't sense the Wyrm on either of them." Taking another sip of her drink, she swallows. "Kinda why I was looking for yah. I knew you'd be able to look past their words if anything."

Bridget goes very quiet now, looking at whoever is speaking at that moment. Her hands tighten around the glass, her knuckles going white.

Megan glances up, and gives Eamon a jerky nod of her head. "Sure thing, Eamon. I'll be out with you shortly."

Yi balls her other hand into a fist and with a close of her eyes concentrates on keeping her cool. Once a semblance of composure has returned, she opens her eyes and looks back up. "That he still is alive," she says quietly, but trails there. Eamon is glanced up to and she bows her head once, if stiffly with a significant look to his hand.

Alicia looks up slightly and glances to Bridget for a moment, then back to Megan. She seems to be thinking hard about something. One could almost hear the gears turning.
Eamon nods and waves to the rest of the group. "Night, guys. I definitely need to hear Hope and Dr. Vissum's story."

Megan gives Eamon a wave, then looks back to Alicia and Yi, a quick assessing glance over to Bridget. Rafe is still working on his drink and looking about as relaxed as a Kinfolk might, under the circumstances, and doesn't seem surprised by any of the news. The philodox looks back at Alicia, shrugging her right shoulder. "And I do want to meet her. Or, would. My flight home leaves on Saturday morning, though, and if you say they're both clean...it wouldn't be a bad idea to let Eamon meet them. Maybe he can track them back to wherever they came from, and find out if it's on the level."

Yi looks back to Megan, a short glance cast to Bridget before she nods once. "But how do we find out about that?"

Bridget sits back and doesn't do anything stupid, like look defiant. She does look curious, however, and leans back, cradling her beer in her hands.

Alicia bobs her head. "Alrightie. I'll make sure that Eamon is up to speed on everything and from where, we'll form a plan of action. You ganna drop a phone number to keep in touch in case things hit the shit?"

Megan sniffs with edged amusement. "Of course. Although, the link is faster, and getting back...well, let's hope they don't decide that Christmas would be an excellent time to invade, because if they did, by the time I got back here, I think I would just have to fall on my sword. Then again, if I didn't go home, my family might just hold the sword for me," she says quietly, with a little grin. "I haven't seen them since I came back last Thanksgiving."

Yi takes a long swig of the water in her glass, swiping her lips to keep them wet. "They won't. Never again," she says quietly, gazing sidelong to the Fianna, her words heavy.

Bridget smiles crookedly at Megan. "Yeah, well, you know how they get." She certainly does. She then begins to toy with the glass in her hands, rotating it around a bit.

"Never again." Echos Alicia as she side glances to her best friend, giving the Gnawer a quick nod, reaching out to squeeze her shoulder slightly. "All of my family is right here, so I get to save money on a plane ticket. Bring back some good booze Megan."

Megan grins at her two packmates. "And with things left in your hands, I'm sure it'll be fine. I *am* going to go see if I can track down Eamon, though, now that I've eaten. I'm sorry I wasn't around this past weekend, but, keep me posted on our little situation?"

Yi nods again, finishing the water in the glass with a small thanks to Rafe before she stands from her chair. "Yes, we will. And I think it is time I return to the Odeon to check on it as well."

"Alrightie, you two have fun then." Alicia says with a smile, offering a nod to them both, then rises up, giving herself a stretch. "Hey Bridget, you taking off also?" She asks.

Bridget nods politely to Yi, saying, "It was a pleasure meeting you." Turning to Alicia, she answers the Galliard. "I was planning on spending some family time with Megan, yeah. Need something?" Even as she asks that, she slides out of her seat.

Alicia shakes her head. "Nah. Not really. Was ganna hang out with ya an chat if you were." She smiles and shrugs her shoulders back. "Well, good night guys." She says with a bright smile to her packmates and kin, then nudges Yi. "C'mon, I'll go with ya."

Yi nods at Bridget, giving her a polite, genuine smile. "And the same to you as well. I hope some time we will meet again soon, and maybe I can hear more about Boston," she says. Turning to Megan and Rafe, the Gnawer dips her head once. Alicia gets a bit of a bigger smile and the ragabash starts on her way out.
