Farmhouse: Hallway and Living Room
All doorways in the front part of the house lead to the front hallway, a J-shaped area with the short tail starting at the stairs, the front door hitting the bottom curve, the doorless opening to the living room halfway up the long side, and the also doorless opening to the kitchen and dining room at the very top. The hall has a simple wooden floor, and decorated with a generic print of soft-colored flowers hanging on the wall to the right of the front door, and a tall table sitting under the print which serves as a place to toss keys. A closet under the stairs serves as a place to hang coats or to toss shoes.
The doorless opening to the living room is halfway up the side of the hall's J, and the word cozy might spring to mind when looking into is, as it seems to radiate comforting vibrations. A long couch sits against the south wall beneath a large bay window curtained only by sheers that manages to obscure the view in but only filters the day's light. A variety of out-of-date magazines are strewn atop a low coffee table; more neatly presented are the plethora of books filling the small bookshelves which line the eastern wall. Three chairs sit about the room, focused inward, to allow group conversations. Large floor pillows are stacked in one corner of the room, except one, which lies carelessly in the middle of the floor, apparently left out the last time it was used.
An opening in the northern end of the hallway allows access to the kitchen and dining room at the back of the house, while carpeted stairs twist up at the other end of the hall, leading to the second floor. A door at the base of the J lets out to the front porch.

[look Rae]
This young girl is lost in a time of transition. It shows the most in her pale brown eyes. In a way they appear tired, the youth plainly is no stranger to tragedies. She looks about the age of 14 or 15; tall and scrawny with a hint of woman here or there. Sometimes when she smiles there is a sense of maturity inside of her, hidden among the pudgy flesh of her child-like face.
About 5'7", Rae appears to tower among her peers- including most boys. Her frame grew so quickly, that her skin was pulled tightly across her bones. This gives her a willowy look, however temporary. The clothes the tall girl chooses wear are goodwill-type-clothing. Nothing new, yet incredibly loud and noticeable. Despite her choice of clothing however, her gaze doesn't appear to hold anything out of the ordinary. Rae regards the world around her with an indecisive blank stare. The young woman chooses to keep her thoughts private most of the time, hidden behind bland eyes.
The young lady's hair is short and curly. It neatly dresses her shoulders behind her creating a deep brown cape hovering above her shoulders. Usually her hair is wild and free about her scalp, the young woman rarely takes the time to style it. Most mornings it's cleaned, brushed and let loose. Below each eye one is a spattering of Irish freckles, seen easily on her pale skin.
[look Kevin]
Kevin Lockwood is a somewhat gangling mid-teenage boy. Starting at the top and working down, he possesses a close crop of very dark brown hair that might be mistaken for black in some lights; a long Caucasian face with a rather large nose in the middle; brown eyes under heavy eyebrows; a downturned mouth, and a distinct Adam's apple. He either doesn't need to shave yet, or does so closely enough to have no visible stubble on his prominent chin. Below the neck, his body looks fairly fit, and is clad in a rather grubby blue sweatshirt and grey sweatpants, both of which are too big for him and the latter of which has to be hitched up every few seconds. He's barefoot. His legs seem a little long for his body, as though he's just undergone a growth spurt and his lower limbs reacted to the hormones before the rest of him.
After the last couple days of freezing temperatures and ice cold rain, Yi has taken refuge from it all and confined herself to the farmhouse for its warmth. Though, free food doesn't hurt either. And free food she has, in the form of a sandwich that looks too large for the lady heaped on a plate and set upon a small coffee table next to the couch. The Gnawer sits on a cushion with her right leg hanging loose over, and the left tucked beneath her. In her hand, a book that is opened to some random page which she appears to be reading - with great difficulty, considering how she silently mouths out each letter and furrows her brow constantly.
Kevin comes quietly down the stairs, the young Briton's usual sullen expression displaced by one of surprise and not a little worry as he slips into the main room. Giving a quick look around to see what he can see, his eyes alight on a new face; one which seems quite at home here, but a new face nonetheless. "Hello," he says cautiously.
The newest cub in the farmhouse seems to find solstice outside. Rae may think she's resilient as she sits on the porch, but icy winds soon force the CoG inside. Opening the door quietly, she steps inside. Glancing at those who're there, the skinny girl makes her way into the kitchen. The sound of the facet being turned on, followed by the filling of a water glass come from Rae's direction. Soon enough, Rae walks into the sitting room.
Yi flicks her eyes up with a start, concentration broken with entrance from the two cubs. Kevin is regarded first, and then Rae as the unfamiliar Coggie cub makes her way to the kitchen. Yi dips her head once, replying with a comfortable "Hello" as well. "Have I taken your seat?" she wonders aloud, eyes on Kevin again before shifting their way to Rae.
Kevin shakes his head quickly, a little too quickly. "No no, it's fine..." His eyes swivel to Rae and back again in the hope of seeing whether the other cub recognises this figure ensconced in comfort with a sandwich. No success comes from this quarter and he looks back to Yi. "Not seen you here before?" he hazards, the phrase turning into a question by dint of a definite rise in tone at the end.
Brown eyes glance at Kevin, than Yi, than back to Kevin again. Shrugging her pointed shoulder blades, Rae weaves her way about the couches, towards the stair. "Excuse me." She says in a quiet voice, with a slight edge. Moving past Kevin, she walks up the stairs towards the attic.
"Ah, yes," Yi replies with understanding as she lays the book beside the mini mountain of a lunch. "I am Yi-Ling, or simply Yi. I'm also called Three-Blades by the family... A Bone Gnawer, ragabash, cliath, and member of Resonance under Stag." She pauses here, looking after Rae. "Oh come now," she clucks towards the quieted Coggie. "It is not often I could be here and meet new cubs. Please, do not be afraid of me?" Assumptions made of course, but the Asian Gnawer makes them anyway. "I do take showers, even if the popular belief is that my tribe doesn't." She smiles more wryly at the last part.
Kevin relaxes a little at the introduction, evidently a new enough cub that his garou-dar doesn't work infallibly with people new to him. He trots over to one of the chairs and jumps into it, looks at Rae and starts to say something, then thinks better of it. Instead he turns his face back to Yi. "Kevin Lockwood, ragabash cub of no fixed pack or tribe as yet." he introduces himself simply. "I have met some of your tribe, though..."
At the top of the stair, Rae watches Yi as she speaks. A short, sharp sigh escapes her, as she pivots for a moment, than deciding to turn around. She walks back down the stair, choosing not to sit on the furniture, but the bottom stair instead. She sips her water, looking at those gathered with a rather bored expression on her face.
Yi perks up a brow with Kevin's mention of their mutual auspice. "A fellow newmoon. Good, good... I could do with some help," she rambles, tucking a forelock behind her ear. "Are either of you hungry?" She motions to the sandwich, split into four nice, fat wedges, though the presentation could use some work. Rae receives another look, one that reminisces of an investigative, curious nature.
Kevin's hand slowly moves in the direction of the plate and selects a wedge. "Thank you, Yi-rhya," he murmurs. "Were you part of the mayhem round here the other night? Or is your presence here coincidental?"
The mention of free food does bring a spark to Rae's rather bland eyes. However, the youth refuses, shaking her head quickly. "No thanks." She speaks with quite undertones. Taking another sip of water, she listens the conversation. The CoG doesn't make any moves to participate, just sits at the bottom of the stair, wordlessly.
Yi ahs slowly, a casual 'wince' coming from the formality of 'rhya' being tacked onto her name. "Just Yi is fine, Kevin. Truly." She also nods to his question, adding, "I was part of it, yes. Though, I didn't come in myself. Tobin, one of the Silver Fang theurges... maybe you have met him? He offered to carry me in because of this." She indicates her right leg. "Let us just say that, I do not envy the ahrouns." After a passing second, she turns to Rae, perhaps forcing hospitality upon the Coggie. "Please, don't be shy. My English always needs some practice, and 'the more the merrier', so the expression says. Or perhaps I should be using 'misery loves company'?" Despite the leg injury, the Gnawer looks to be in a pleasant mood; likely from the presence of others to talk to - anything to get around trying to read.
Kevin tries not to stare at Yi's leg, but fails quite conspicuously. "Stone me," he breathes. "Yes, I've met Tobin... he was here the other day with a big bundle of weapons. Swords and axes, I mean, not guns and grenades." He shifts in his chair. "I heard some of the Ahrouns got mauled pretty badly?" Again this sentence, though a statement in grammar, has an audible question mark at the end. He seems to have forgotten Rae for the moment as he concentrates on Yi.
Instead of taking a piece of sandwich, Rae blerts- "What did you fight?" The child of Gaia has always been quiet in the presence of multiple people. But, the need to know -what- is going on overwhelms her shyness for a moment. She shifts uneasily on the step after she speaks however, thinking perhaps she should have continued to listen.
Yi nods again, this one a short bob of her head with mention of Tobin's weapons of destruction. "White Bear and Alicia, Cole... Auggie..." she starts to name off, before interrupted by Rae's query. A short smile spreads on one side of the Gnawer's face and she shrugs a shoulder. "I think Tobin called them 'Skull Pigs'. I just know that... they were very big, very ugly, and very Tainted pig monsters." She puts a finger to her bottom lip in thought. "You know how big you can be when you are in Crinos form? Think of that sort of big, and make it about... one or two times bigger." The Gnawer spreads out her arms for effect. "Very big. Very ugly." A pause. "Very stinky."
Kevin pauses with the sandwich half way to his mouth. "You're kidding," he says, but the note of fear in his voice shows that he knows she's not. "Did you..." he gestures, psyching up for a difficult word... "...kill them?"
Again Rae finds herself residing in quiet. She leans back, the small of her back brushing against the next step. She rubs her hands along the glass, making small squeaking noises. When Kevin speaks with notes of fear in his voice, Rae looks at him- very slight smile on her lips.
Yi purses her lips together, rolling her gaze up in thought. "Yes," she finally answers. "We cannot allow the caern to be violated, and must fight the Wyrm. Those two laws of the Litany are there for these reasons. And we will get hurt doing it... but that is the life of the Garou. Not so much for ones of our moon, but we do what needs to be done." A bit of shifting of her weight later, Yi extracts her left leg from beneath her and pushes up jacket sleeves to reveal even more thin tracelines of scars over her arms. "Has Megan-rhya talked to you about tribes yet?" she asks Kevin, still glancing to Rae on occassion in show that she hasn't forgotten the Coggie is there.
Kevin shakes his head. "I've yet to meet her, though I've heard the name," he responds. "Trevor-rhya and Alicia-rhya have given me various information, and your own Olga has explained the ethos and aims of the Bone Gnawers." He pauses. "I'm afraid I've yet to meet anyone from any tribe who made me feel 'this is where I belong'."
Finishing the glass of water, Rae weaves an arm through the banisters. She places the empty glass on a corner table. Looking at the two for a long moment, Rae stands. Slowly, she moves to 'join' the company, picking a chair near the long couch. After Kevin speaks, Rae responds in harsh and bitter tones. "And why should they make you feel welcome?" Her words still quiet, "Your too critical Kevin. And what you said to Stacey was unwarranted. The girl is only eleven for Christ-sakes."
"You're lucky," Yi notes with a certain solemnity to Kevin. "Megan-rhya has the certain idea that the tribeless cubs found now can have their choice of tribe. But in some septs... there is no choice. In the end, though, you will find a place." The gravity lifts a touch afterwards, as she looks over to Rae. "Speaking of tribes... I do not think I heard yours?" She does though, recognize the certain rasp in Rae's tones to Kevin. "Stacey?" she echoes the name, apparently not recognizing the referred to cub either.
Kevin flushes at Rae's words. "I apologised to Stacey. She accepted it. The matter is closed as far as I'm aware. And she may be only eleven but she's about to be Rited, which neither I nor you will be for a good while to come." He turns to Yi. "I made some unwarranted comments when I discovered some things new to me about Garou society. I've only been here a few weeks and have much to learn."
To explain, Rae continues for Yi's benefit. "Stacey, a Child of Gaia cub here was trying to explain some things to Kevin. He freaked, said things." She shrugs her pointed shoulders. "Regardless how long I've been locked in here, I know how to treat people. Especially kids, kids getting rites before you or not." Her voice was collected as usual, though she lowers it to a whisper now. "Do not talk shit on people's dreams." The whisper was aimed at Kevin, though Yi could hear it easily if she had those intentions. Turning to the older, "My name is Rae MacIntyre. I'm a Child of Gaia, Ragabash. Just looking out for my little.. big sisters. That's' all."
Yi nods slowly with the explanation with no indication of whether she heard Rae's whisper. "Everyone's reactions are different. I didn't believe it when I was found either. Of course, I ended up being kept in a closet for a few weeks, but it was for my own good," the Gnawer notes. With a turn to Rae. "A pleasure to meet another ragabash, particularly one of my packsisters' tribe. So I guess you two haven't been allowed out of the farmhouse yet?"
"I've been to the barn a few times," Kevin clarifies, "but not alone... not beyond that point, though. Which is part of the reason I'm such a grouch. It's bad enough in a house for weeks... how you coped in a /closet/ is beyond me," he says in impressed tones to Yi.
"Been here over a week. They let me on the porch though." Rae takes a moment to look distantly out the window. "Apparently I can't go outside until I get some training, though I can't train unless I go outside." She offers a half-smile to Yi. "Thus, I end up sleeping a lot." Eyes glance away from the window to Kevin, than to the ceiling.
Yi smirks, though the expression is a little weak. "Well there are other kinds of training besides shifting and combat. And besides, it is Too Cold out to train!" Said lightheartedly, the mock-complaint is coupled by a glance outside. Then she looks back to the cubs. "So, after a week's time, or a few weeks' time, perhaps there are some, mm, questions to be answered?"
Kevin looks a little blank. "I don't know if you found this," he muses, "but this whole world is so alien to everything I've known before that I don't know how to ask questions about it. You need to know at least part of the answer before asking the question... I mean, take those things that you fought..." He draws himself into a slightly tighter ball in his chair. "Where did they come from? How did they reach the caern when you guys have it guarded? And why did they target you? What's their... motivation? I guess even smelly enormous piggywiggies have their own motives?"
This time around, Rae doesn't cringe when it comes to questions. In a way, she's found her 'peace'. Instead, she resolves to listen quietly as the two converse with one another. While the other two speak, she runs her fingers along the arm of the chair, touching each fabric, counting them.
"They all do," Yi replies in summary. "The Wyrm didn't used to be an enemy. It was part of the balance that made the Triat. The Wyld is creation, inspiration, all things changing. The Weaver though, was to keep things in order and so is the organizer, the builder. The Wyrm... well the Wyrm was the destroyer, completing the circle. Why those two pigs were out on the bawn, or how they managed to get there... I wonder that too. But as it goes, the caern is a very powerful place, and spirits like it for its energy." The ragabash shrugs. "I would ask a theurge for more on that, but I can't guarantee their answer is any more understandable than mine."
The newest CoG watches Kevin just leave, in the middle of Yi's explanation. "He can be rude like that." Rae speaks quietly, eyes drawing away from the stairs back to the Cliath. The youth takes in a small breath, sighing. "You did a good job explaining it, I think. He just seems to get mad, run off, when he doesn't like what he's hearing." She shrugs a little.
Yi watches Kevin go, but lets the rudeness roll off like water from a duck. "He'll learn it sooner or later. And as I am not his chosen teacher, well, I cannot complain." She quirks her head after at the cub. "So then... how are you finding the farmhouse? Acceptable?"
A soft smile touches her lips. "The farmhouse is ok." Rae says softly, "Its warm at night, there is food to eat. Sometimes even good company." The teen pauses for a moment, "Though, if I don't go do something soon.. I really think I'll loose my mind." Her smile slides off her face, "Though to tell you the truth, this 'training' doesn't sound very exciting. If and when, I ever do it."
The sound of a motorcycle can be heard coming up the path towards the farmhouse, then cuts out after a loud rev.
Yi mmhms with a sympathetic nod. "Some times you'll wish life were not so exciting, though. Believe me," she says with a humored smile. "But you could try to make it exciting yourself. We cannot be dependant on others for everything, after all." She breaks off from the conversation with a quirk of her head to listen to the motorcycle engine outside.
"Indeed." There is a more solemn look on Rae's face, but she doesn't speak on the matter any further. The sound of the motorcycle makes her turn in her chair towards the door. She looks for a moment expectantly. That look is only held for a moment, before she sits back down in the chair properly, to look out the window.
Yi watches Rae's expression when the cub looks out the window as well. "It was seeming a little quiet around here, wasn't it?" she asks rhetorically. A huge sandwich cut into 4, now 3 wedges with Kevin having taken a quarter, sits on a plate with a book beside it, ignored by the Gnawer ever since the appearance of the cubs and conversation started.
Footsteps can be heard approaching the porch, climbing up the quick pair of steps, then push then door open. Its Alicia, wearing a pair of blue jeans and a heavy shirt and jacket over her person, hair tied back into a tiny pony. She looks a bit tired, sleepy eyes glancing quickly about to land on the pair.
Unsure of what to say to Yi, Rae remains silent. She listens to the door open and close behind her. Making an effort not to look too excited about whoever is walking through the door, Rae turns ever so lightly to glance at whom has entered. She smiles briefly at Alicia. Than, gaze wanders towards the window again.
Yi smiles warmly when it's Alicia who comes through the door. "Hey, look who's here?" She holds out her hands again, as if trying to put herself on show. "I was talking to Rae and Kevin, earlier." She looks over the galliard's clothing and nods satisfactorily. "And good thing you are wearing warm clothes."
"The fun has arrived." Alicia says with a slight grin upon her lips as she gives herself a stretch, but not acting 'too' excited. "Still a bit stiff from our wild boar chase." She admits to Yi, then smiles over to Rae. "Hey cubcake. Whats up? Learning lots of new stuff? Or, if you aren't.. want to?"
Cupcake? Is 'slick' next?. A bemused look finds its way on Rae's face. "I don't think I've learned something new in like.." She looks at Yi, "What.. ten minutes now?" The sarcasm spoken is in warm tones. "What did you have in mind?" This question spoken more carefully. Rae doesn't want to work too hard.
Yi is talking with Rae, and now also to Alicia who'd just arrived. The mention of the pig chase again, causes the Gnawer to glance down at her leg and school down a wince, which in turn twists to a bit of a grin. "I hope that is not the deedname you are giving to Rae," she notes to her packmate. "Cubcake." The Gnawer looks back to Rae, just to see the cub's reaction, which predictably falls towards the sarcasm meter. "It's too Cold to do anything," Yi mock-whines, just like a new-to-Garou lazy cub.
"Yi, you're such a nerd." Alicia says as she flops onto the couch, rubbing her side lightly. "No, its not going to be her deedname. I'll be craftier than that, something which tops mine..." She says with a sneaky look about her lips. "Mine used to be Pretty-Paws, Rae, when I was a cubling like you sitting in the same farmhouse. Anyways, I'm thinking the litany, unless by chance someone taught you?"
"Pretty-Paws? I can see that, Alicia-rhya." The voice belongs to Cole, preceding his descent on the stairs from the attic. "Hey, everyone." The young (younger than he looks, too) man nods when he reaches the lounge.
[look Cole]
Before you stands a man, looking to be around twenty years of age. His hair is auburn, leaning more toward red than brown, creating a rich mahogany color. It's longer than before, enough so that it has to be bound back in a ponytail. His eyes are a warm, burnished grey, piercing and curious. He's changed recently, that's for sure. Gone are traces of babyfat, leaving him the appearance of adulthood. Still, there's a youthful, easy smile making its home amidst his strong features. His 5'10'' frame shows signs of an active lifestyle, now more than before. He wears a pair of black jeans, a leather belt cinching them in at the waist. He wears a button-down red flannel shirt, carelessly untucked. Hiking boots cover his feet.

Faded map
"Litany, deednames- I have no idea what those are." Rae's voice falls a little, becoming reserved and controlled. "Though if I end up with something like pretty-paws, I might find a semi to toss myself under." She smiles a bit, letting herself relax just a little. "..so, what is this litany?" At the sound of a newcommer, Rae looks up.
Yi gazes over at the fourth voice, glad to see Cole as well. "I count myself fortunate to have had the same name since cubhood, then," she murmurs aloud. "As for the Litany... that reminds me. I was asked to be Fool for the coming moot," she notes to her packmate. Of course, the Gnawer leaves actual explanation of terminology to the Coggie elder.
"Oh? Who's playing the Galliard?" Alicia asks curiously to the Gnawer, shooting a grin to Cole as she holds up her hands, wiggling fingers to you playfully. "These are goregous." She says teasingly, then tosses her gaze to Rae. "The Litany is like the ten commandments for the bible, but in Garou terms. They are 'strict', but necessary, and kinda 'duh' if you think of it long enough once you get more capable as a Garou. Still.. its something that has to be obeyed. Rules that been held true for generations of our people. A deedname is a name that you are recognized by." She explains. "Like a code name. Ever watched GI Joe or whatever? Like.. Lady Hawk, or Scarlet, or.. whatever."
Cole grabs himself a beer from the kitchen in passing. "My deedname was Duck-To-Water. Megan-rhya thought I was a good student, for some reason." He gives a modest grin, moving to find a seat. "I'm playing the Galliard. Master of the Howl." He says this with a bit of pride showing in his voice. "Mind if I sit in on the session?"
The front door creaks open as Helen enters, sauntering towards the living area. She stops, blinking at the few people around, obviously not expecting to see anyone around. "Howdy, howdy, howdy," she greets, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her well-worn jeans, grinning slightly.
As Alicia explains, Rae listens intently. Nodding once she inquires, "Now what's a moot?" Cole is smiled at briefly, before attention returns to Alicia. When yet another new face enters, Rae's 'brave' face falters. She swallows a bit loudly, tucking her feet up under her. If one didn't know better, it would look like Rae was trying to make herself look as small as possible. Gaze drops from Alicia, to the floor.
Yi waves brightly at Helen when the Fury shows up. "Ah, a gathering of Garou. For example, a small moot of our own here in the farmhouse is forming," she remarks with a shift of herself over to make room on the couch. There is some care taken to not move her right leg too much. "But a real moot has much, much more than just a group of Garou talking to each other."
"Word up Helen!" Alicia calls over to the Fury with a wide grin upon her face. "You missed the fun the other day, Yi, Cole an I got gored up by warthogs that were Wyrm tainted on the Bawn. You missed Gloooorrrry." She says teasingly. "By the way, this is Rae.. my 'Ragabash' cub." She says in a boasting tone. "She's ganna need a tutor for her moon." She glances between the pair, Gnawer and Fury. "You two up for showing her how to pull pranks an not get killed for it?"
Cole cracks open his beer, finding a spot in the seat more normally used by Trevor. "Hm. Nice to meet you, Rae," he says, taking it upon himself to hold introductions. "I'm Cole, called Howls-For-Glory, and I'm a Fianna Galliard." Helen gets a smile and a nod.
"Hey folks," says Helen as she goes to take a seat next to Yi; she waves at Cole. Glancing to Alicia, she just replies with a simple, "Sure."
The gathering of so many soon begins to make Rae's skin itch nervously. She continues to look at the carpet, brown eyes concentrating on a hair that's managed to intertwine itself.
Yi puts up her hands. "I don't pull pranks, Alicia, you know that." Her smile goes disarming, and then she laughs softly with a glance back to Rae. "Not all ragabash are jokers, to tell the truth. Although, it is not like we all don't enjoy a good joke." She then looks over to the galliards. "I don't suppose the story of those Skull Pigs is going to be told at moot?"
Alicia glances over to Cole and shrugs her shoulders. "I'll let the Fianna field that one. I think he needs the glory more than I do." She says teasingly. "That and I like listening to the Fianna croon, they sound better than I. I'm only good at singing." She crosses her legs a bit, hands folded over her knees.
Cole rolls his eyes, giving a good natured smile. "Hey, don't forget who came charging to pull your pretty paws from the fire," he teases. He conveniently forgets that he was later saved MUCH recovery time by a timely application of Mother's Touch. "I was thinking about it. I'll see if I can squeeze it in around the other duties." He takes a swig of his drink. "I'll croon extra-nice, then."
Helen sits, quiet for once, looking Rae over. Noticing the cub's nervous demeanor she says lightly, "Don't worry, we won't bite. My name's Helen, by the way--y' prolly figured that out--but anyway..." She falls silent again before standing up and heading into the kitchen, and returns just as quickly with a soda. "So, what's all this about the warthogs?"
Rae tries to say something, but quickly looses nerve. Instead the cub runs her fingers along the fibers of the couch, listening intently to all conversations going on. When Helen speaks to the CoG, all she can offer is a nervous smile.
Yi nods to the galliards, but does remind Cole, "And we all would still be moaning upstairs in the infirmary if it were not for the Touch of the Mother." She leans back into the couch with a soft sigh of relief. "Ugly, big, stinky. I do not think I can come up with better summary of them."
"They burned when they hit me." Alicia says to Helen. "I noticed they were dripping some kind of green ichor from their maws when they ran at me. Thats not good. Perhaps we should seek out what caused the infection and cleanse it." She tilts her head, then leans over to nudge Rae. "You paying attention? This is important stuff, our battle against the Wyrm."
Cole gives a wry smile. "True enough," he remarks. "How about you add 'nasty and way too frigging tough' to the list as well?" He leans back in the chair. "It /was/ awfully close to the Caern. Could be worth looking into.'
Helen frowns as she pops open the soda can. "That's nasty," she comments. "Finding out what the hell that all is, yeah, we definitely need to do that, 'specially if it's out on the Bawn...not good." At Cole's comment her frown deepens, she looks visibly agitated. "Close to the Caern? Yeah. More'n worth lookin' into..."
"Yuh-yeah, I'm listening." Rae stammers, only bringing her gaze up briefly to Alicia's. She starts to fidget nervously still, wishing that she was upstairs. Taking in a deep breath, the cub attempts to calm her nerves, gaze looking out the window.
"Wyrm picks its time to come knocking on our door, doesn't it?" Yi notes with a full on wince as she bends her knee. "Maybe if that area is scouted far enough back, we will find where they came from. It doesn't seem like they were running in any sort of circle to throw us off after all."
"With my gift, I can follow the taint trail if possible.. unless we happened to have cleansed it all." Alicia says as she nods her head, letting out a slow breath as she gazes up at the ceiling for a moment, then looks to Rae. "Anyways, you and I got studying to do. I got a 'lot' to cover with you.. first up is the litany, after you got that down.. we practice your new body."
Cole just listens on, never averse to hearing the other tribes' viewpoints on the Litany by any means. Beer in hand, he merely watches, quietly.
Yi slides up from the couch cushion then, taking her sandwich with. "I'll go put this in the cooler," she notes with a short nod to all in the room. "Remember Rae, if you have questions..." she trails and looks over to Alicia, Cole and Helen, "They've got answers." Too much TV for Yi.
"Studying? Like.. school?" Rae's face falters, glancing shyly at Alicia. "I was.. never the best at school." Her voice is spoken softly, because of the sheer amount of company. "I uh..I uh.." Rae spies Cole watching. "I uh.. ok. Ok than.. what.. is it?" Rae is slowly turning into a nervous wreck. So much so, that Rae can't even smile at Yi when she exits. Instead the cub just.. stares.
"C'mon, to the barn." Alicia says with a tilt of her head, rising up and heading through the kitchen to the back door. "We can get some fresh air and what not. Sides', Dakota is meeting me there for a boxing session later on. You'll get tons of that in too."
Cole clears his throat. "Well, if it's a Child thing, I can stay here, but mind if I tag along, either of you?"
"The.. barn?" Rae has heard about what goes on in the barn. "I'll run upstairs, get.. my shoes and coat." Because as Yi has put it several times, 'its too cold!' At Cole's remark and question, Rae falters in her stride as she stands. Suddenly her nervousness is eased, a more serious look about her. She moves up the stairs towards the attic.
"I'll be stayin' here," says Helen, reclining back further into the couch. "Have fun."
"Alrightie Cole, if you want. I'll meet you out there Rae." Alicia says, pushing open the back door and heading out into the cold.
The sound of an attic door opening, than closing. A minute passes, than Rae is again heading down the stairs. She jumps over the last few steps, feeling blood rushing through her veins.. and energy. "Outside!" She mumbles excitedly to herself.
