Whispering Pines - Apt #214(#2598RAJLh)
This apartment gives a look of high expense, not in the building itself, but it's contents. The walls and ceiling are painted pure black, and the carpet matches the darkness, save for some off color fuzz, being that it's a pretty new carpet. Across from the door in the living area is a large black entertainment center consisting of a not suprisingly black 42" TV, a large fully digital stereo system with CD and tape players, AM/FM stereo, a setting for the TV, and a useless setting called 'phono'. There are various gaming systems tucked into the entertainment center as well, baring names like Dreamcast, Playstation and Playstation 2, various systems with the word 'Nintendo' upon them... 3D0, NeoGeo, and finally something called a 'colecovision'. This system is complemented nicely by a high quality Bose surround sound speaker system. Two black leather couches are on the left and right of the living area, angled at the entertainment center. A large chest rests on the ground between the couches and the entertainment center, working as a foot rest. The only sources of light are the LEDs on the stereo, the TV, and a small blacklight bulb in the fan in the center of the apartment. A door to the right of the apartment leads to Roger's bedroom(+view) and the small kitchen is visable on the right side of the apartment, almost a part of the living room. The kitchen is lit up by a hallogen lamp, resting next to the front door, pointed towards it.

Whispering Pines

Dakota says "Then stay there!" And then the phone clicks off. In record timing, Dakota has found a way into town and comes by, nearly slamming down the door to get inside. She has Yi in tow. "Emma!" She barks out, her eyes wide, her skin always way too white."

Emma looks to the Gaian, "What? Don't even go raising your voice at me."

Yi gets jerked around, but given the Gaian's extremely agitated state, the ragabash is just trying to figure out what the heck is going on. The Gnawer looks from one to the other, and lifts her eyebrows in question. One might notice she too, is a little pale, and more than a little tense.

"What did you see and where did he go?" Dakota asks quick and sharp as she heads for the entertainment center, beginning to look around, tearing through things is more like it. "Yi... Emma said Jer was watching a goodbye dvd. You thinking what I'm thinking?"

Emma rubs her hand over her head, "It said, 'Salem if your watching this, smile for me... and then had something about, 'Jeremy, my protege, my foundation.. something ... to you I leave... and something about the Walkers needing him when he was gone. I don't know who is who in it. He snatched it out when I asked and told me to leave him the fuck alone."

Yi blinks a couple of times, still frozen onto the spot where she'd stepped in a couple paces. "Goodbye DVD?" she echoes, trying to parse the Coggie's rushing at the same time holding down the building concern. It's Emma's explanation that pings exactly what the ragabash needs to know. She utters something to the effect of 'oh god' in her native tongue, before she's taking a couple of steps down the hall. "Where is he now?" she asks, before calling out on impulse, "Jeremy?"

Dakota drags her fingers back through her hair, letting out a long and hard sigh. She's shaking from top to bottom, forcing down a hard swallow as she turns around and begins to just go from room to room, looking quick, pacing back and forth in an erratic manner. "We gotta find him. ...I knew something was wrong... I knew it... I FUCKING knew it..."

"What the hell man? I woulda stopped him but last thing I fuckin' need is Natalie all over my ass for something else. What is going on?" Emma demands, obviously just as frustrated.

Yi only performs a cursory check. Dakota she watches, worry etching itself onto her features like an Etch-A-Sketch without anyone to shake it. "It is Roger's DVD. Roger... was a Glass Walker metis, galliard. Jeremy lived with him, and they were very good friends. But... three years ago, when the caern fell, Roger died, fighting against Black Spiral Dancers who invaded the Walker safehouse." She puts a hand to her arm, rubbing it lightly, wetting her lips as she makes herself continue. "Jeremy was... very upset. And the Walkers all watched this DVD after the caern was retaken. When they had a tribe moot together, and I was there..." Yi breathes out slowly, forcing a calm facade. "It is approaching that time."

Dakota whirls around mid halfway. "Fuck what they say." She snarls, fingers twisting up into fists. "I knew his tribe was fucking him up, I just didn't know how. The other day Tu was here. They were talking buisness, sounds like they wanted Jeremy to do something with the hospital, but then they turned back and refused to let him. I know him. He was pissed. If there's one thing Jeremy hates, it's being useless, and I haven't seen him do any work for them in a long, long time. We need to find him. Now."

Emma sighs, "Geezus. Well where do you think he would be? Not work? That's what it looked like... I guess." She folds her arms over her chest, "Fucking Walkers."

Yi shakes her head, hand slipping into her pocket. "If I knew where he was," she begins, but then stops. "No. I know the Questing Stone. It could find him, but the important thing to remember... is if we do find him, what will we do? Jeremy does not like being useless," she notes carefully, watching her packmate, "But if we find him, and in this state of mind, with the moon riding our backs... we too, will be useless."

"I know it too." Dakota says, pacing her way back into the living room, not standing still for a minute as she walks laps around the room, staring at every speck and crumb out of place as if she could get some sort of clue. "I don't know! Take him somewhere... where he can't do anything? Until we can figure out something out? We can't leave him alone. I already made that mistake. Then I'm going over to that safehouse and find out just what has been going on."

Emma runs a hand over her head again, "Is there something I can do?" The tone is softer now, more sympathetic.

Yi sighs again, not having much hair to run her hands through. The ragabash rubs the bandanna tied to her head, thinking. "Maybe he can be allowed to visit the Mounds. But most of all," she says quietly, "we will have to watch him carefully. The Walkers... forget about their kin too often.'

Dakota finally just seems to run out of steam and slumps down into the couch, burying her face in her hands and digging her fingertips into her scalp. "...why didn't I see this? Why didn't I pay more attention?" She can be heard to mutter into her palms. Her shoulders, hunched up, are shaking with tension.

Emma looks to Dakota, "Because he told you not to look and you love him." She sighs, "Where do you want me to start looking? And where do we meet up again?"

Yi finds herself moving closer to her packmate, and for a moment, standing before her. Then, carefully, tentatively, her hand reaches out for the theurge's bowed head. "We all were caught off-guard again," the ragabash says to her quietly. "And not everyone can know another person's deepest secrets. Dakota, it is /not/ your fault. And if I know Jeremy, he has not done what we fear him to have done. Yet." She's silent a moment, then looks to the side, as if to regard Emma. "We can start looking in some of the places he might go to. Computer shops, or dance clubs. Anywhere you think he will go to find escape. If we do not find him by simple searching, then we can try with the Questing Stone."

Emma gives a nod. "Alright, - is there any harm in using that Rite? I mean, could we just start off with that right away?"

Dakota slides her hands down off her face, eyes red and wet as she takes in a deep, shakey breath. "Yeah..." She murmurs with a slow nod to Yi, and after a moment, carefully pulls herself up off the couch. "I don't trust it here. I only know some of the things he has hidden here, but I don't know all. When we find him, we don't bring him here."

Yi shrugs here, looking first to Emma. "If can be found with simple searching, it is better that way. The spirits will not be bothered with easy tasks," she replies. "It is also possible that the rite may not work in the city. The Gauntlet is strong here, after all." The ragabash's hand moves from the Gaian's head to her shoulder, like she were trying to remain with a physical bond there. "I am not sure you can keep Jeremy from going anywhere, but if you do need a safe place to be... there is my flat on East Bridge street."

Emma nods her head, "I don't got a cell phone. I'll go out for two hours, if I find him, I'll get him Yi's place. However it needs be done. If I don't find him, I'll come back here to check after the two hours." She grunts, "'m sorry Kota. I shoulda- shoulda done /something/."

Yi shakes her head, and forcibly smiles faintly at Emma in gratitude. "You could not have known, Emma. These things... often are hidden to even the sharpest of eyes and smartest of minds."

Dakota nods her head once to Emma before saying, "In two hours, we'll meet back here and we can check off where we've looked. We just got a new car, a silver Scion, so keep an eye out for one. It might be him. He tends to drive around when he's upset and I didn't see it out in the lot. And Emma, if you find him and he doesn't wanna come along, punch him. Knock him out, I don't care, just don't frenzy on him. And... make sure he doesn't have any weapons on him, either."

Emma grunts, "That's like asking a spider to not have any legs on him Dakota. I'll be careful with him though." She nods and moves to the door. "In two hours then."
Long distance to the room: Yi hehs. Garou.

Yi nods slowly, and wets her lips. "I will go and look for him as well. We meet back in two hours. I think, Dakota, you should stay here and see if he has left any evidence to where he has gone. Or, if he plans to do something we still do not know about."

Dakota lets out a breath, looking ready to protest, but seems to realize the point behind it and slowly nods her head. "Alright. Maybe he'll come back. I'll see what I can find, and maybe I'll pack up some of these guns while I'm at it. See you both in two hours."
