Farmhouse: Hallway and Living Room
All doorways in the front part of the house lead to the front hallway, a J-shaped area with the short tail starting at the stairs, the front door hitting the bottom curve, the doorless opening to the living room halfway up the long side, and the also doorless opening to the kitchen and dining room at the very top. The hall has a simple wooden floor, and decorated with a generic print of soft-colored flowers hanging on the wall to the right of the front door, and a tall table sitting under the print which serves as a place to toss keys. A closet under the stairs serves as a place to hang coats or to toss shoes.
The doorless opening to the living room is halfway up the side of the hall's J, and the word cozy might spring to mind when looking into is, as it seems to radiate comforting vibrations. A long couch sits against the south wall beneath a large bay window curtained only by sheers that manages to obscure the view in but only filters the day's light. A variety of out-of-date magazines are strewn atop a low coffee table; more neatly presented are the plethora of books filling the small bookshelves which line the eastern wall. Three chairs sit about the room, focused inward, to allow group conversations. Large floor pillows are stacked in one corner of the room, except one, which lies carelessly in the middle of the floor, apparently left out the last time it was used.
An opening in the northern end of the hallway allows access to the kitchen and dining room at the back of the house, while carpeted stairs twist up at the other end of the hall, leading to the second floor. A door at the base of the J lets out to the front porch.

Kitchen/Dining Room Front Door STairs
Stacey returns from putting up the olives and takes back her seat on the couch. Lucky Andy didn't take her end. She turns her head and smiles up at Christine. "Some names aren't so bad. Mine was Chases-the-Shadows and Auggie's was Dark-As-Night. Depends on who gives the name and why."
Christine licks her lips and looks to Stacey as the girl speaks. "I guess," she says, neither dubiously not with any enthusiasm for the prospect. "Though it seems like this is getting to be a lot to remember."
"Mine was Walks-in-Circles," Horace admits with an ugly smile. That's all he adds but he listens closely, his arms folded up in his lap. Still there's a faint solemness about him, despite the smile, despite the topic.
The horrible coughing splutter of a choking car engine heralds Yi's approach to the farmhouse. Gravel crunching beneath the old tires of the Gnawer's Mystery Mobile, the half-dim, half-bright headlights wink and die along with the sound of the engine pistons grinding to a halt. Creaking metal whines in protest as the ragabash exits her vehicle, door shutting with a loudish bang before footsteps and the opening of the front door to the farmhouse reveal the Gnawer, face first following with the rest of her. "What is this? A moot already?" She grins a touch, seeing for the most part people she does recognize.
"Cub names are not always the most flattering of things. Mine for example is based purely on my tendency to over organize everything I do." Andy turns to the arriving Yi, his idle chatter cut short. "Just a miniature moot, really. We're considering conquering and cleansing the refrigerator and cupboards later."
Horace looks up as Yi enters as his smile and his "Hello," are soft and quiet, hard to see or hear, like he doesn't really want anyone to notice him.
As his list gets continued by others adding more cub names, Reggie straigthens up, his inspection of Christine completed, and moves over to the window to find what car has such a badly maintained engine. He moves away from the window after the engine dies, and looks about the group. "Company", he announces, then, "Mine was Promise." As the announced company arrives, he heads to the front door, but doesn't make it in time to open it before Yi does.
Stacey tilts her head at Christine's comment about remembering, but then is distracted by the Gnawer's entrance. "Hello, Yi," she says, offering a smile.
Christine watches Yi from her chair, her face slackening. She squints slightly, as though her eyes were fashioned to look right through Yi to the back wall, and had difficult focusing on the foreground--looking at Yi proper. "Hello, Yi-rhya," she greets, polite and warmthless.
Yi glances up as Reggie is in her immediate view, a rather vulpine smile tweaking the rest of her expression towards the Uktena before she squeezes around him. "Indeed. Well, if you need help with the raid, allow me to come with. I will volunteer to be the first."
Christine stands. "I've got to sleep," she says to Stacey, softly. She glances around to see if she will be detained, and murmurs a general 'good night'. She starts towards the door--the outside door--without bothering much with stealth. Stealth didn't avail Horace much, after all.
Horace doesn't look eager to raid anything, be it Wyrm or wurst, and he stays in his chair, sinking into it so he seems almost as much a blanket draped over it as a person sitting in it. He does his best to summon a smile at everyone, but it doesn't go far.
Reggie wedges around Yi, his bulk making the hallway a tad narrow for the maneveur, and he gets the door before it closes again. At Yi's statement, he reaches out to tap her, but misses and ends up just swinging his arm through the air. "No, you're too late to be the first. Second's best you can do." He pulls his features into a smirk, then doesn't wait for a reply, but immediately steps through the door.
Andy rises, chugging his soda and heading in the vague direction of the kitchen. However not before he nods to Yi. "It'll be a mighty revel. The kitchen spirits will never be the same." There is a small grin from the cub, but it fades though as he moves in the direction of the trash can to deposit his can. "I've got to head back to Falcon's Rest though, for the night. Important information to relay to my Elder come morning." With that the cub makes a swift, if casual exit.
Stacey smiles and watches as one person after another takes their leave. Her gaze moving around as though she's watching a tennis match. After Andy leaves, she glances at Yi, then to Horace, and shrugs. "Well... it's quieter now," the young girl says, stating the obvious for lack of anything better to say.
Jervis enters through the front door, headlights of his car perhaps foreshadowing his arrival to the observant. In his right hand is...partially eaten footlong sub, heavy on meat and cheese, devoid of anything green, obviously from Subway, given the wrapper. He arrives just in time to have completely missed the departing garou. "Yo," he says, mouth a little full, he then points to Yi, with the index finger of the hand he's using to hold the sandwich. After swallowing, he continues: "Need to talk with ya, when ya got a moment." He then takes another bite.
Yi luckily is just manueverable enough not to get pinned, and she gives Christine a nod, warmed smile and a soft 'good night', Reggie a more wry half-grin than a smile, and a nod to Andy as he goes. "Someone will have to replenish their power afterwards," she intones like it was a most solemn affair. That mood lasts but a second, before it is broken by a light chuckle, and finds a recently emptied chair to sit in. "Ah yes. Quiet is... better for nights like this," she agrees with Stacey. That lasts just long enough for Jervis to enter with his Subway. Yi looks up to the newly entered Fang, brows lifting. Rather, she gestures to one of the empty seats. "My moment is the now," the Gnawer replies.
Jervis' arrival cuts away even the semblance of ease from Horace's face. He looks at the man, the skin of his face growing tight around his bones, and for a few seconds his breathing stops. There's a look of total scorn on Horace's face, a dismay so tight and pressing it threatens his throat and lungs. For Jervis alone the boy makes no attempt at saying "Hi."
Stacey looks up as Jervis enters and smiles. "Hello, Jervis," she says, then falls silent as she catches sight of Horace's reaction, frowning and looking generally confused.
Jervis takes quick stock of Horace's, then Stacey's reaction, smiling. "He's not too fond of me," he explains to Stacey, mouth still muffled by half-chewed sandwich, but completely intelligible. Swallow. "I'm used to it." Then back to Yi. "So...I have a request...Tobin's got this hare-brained scheme for putting a dent in the hospital, and I've been suspiciously fingered as the star of the show. I need to learn two gifts. One of them, you have. I think you can guess what it is..."
Yi eyes Horace curiously as well, though Jervis' explaination serves for the moment. She looks to the Fang, head tilting. "That would depend on what the spirits will favor you with," she replies to him, "but as it is, I can do teaching in a little while. At the moment, I agreed to teach Holly a rite in return for her teaching Christine." There's a pause before she continues, "I haven't heard anything from Tobin about doing anything to the hospital... but what is it you are supposed to do?"
Horace clarifies, his flabby lips growing as tight as they can, spitting the words out full of spite and bile. "I'm not `not fond of` you," he says, standing up suddenly and awkwardly, as if not by his own power, as if he were a puppet and someone had suddenly brought him to life arms akimbo. "I hate you," the boy states plainly, without regret or hesitation or thought of any kind. There's a pause, just a second, where his shoulders move forward, as if he's going to approach the man, but that is either false or rethought because he pulls away, out back towards his door, fingers bristling and bunching together.
Rianna, heedless of interpersonal woes, knocks on the front door, then sticks in her head. "Mind if I come in?"
Stacey had been listening to the interchange between Yi and Jervis when Horace speaks up. The young girl's eyes widen and her mouth drops open at his words, mostly from hearing them come from the Wendigo. She closes her mouth and frowns as she looks up at Jervis again, more calculating this time, and then back at Horace. As he moves towards the door, she stands up, looking relatively helpless.
Rianna mutters, "Bad time?" at Stacey. She looks entirely willing to leave, all things considered.
Jervis begins to respond to Yi, but then just sighs and shakes his head at the departing Horace. "Wendigo or not...he really needs to learn how to _frolick_...." Quick snap back to Yi, all business. "Anyway..." a pause for another bite, which he does swallow this time before speaking, "Tobin has this idea that some no-moons, or, more accurately, _me_...should draw out the baddies surrounding the hospital....lead them away from the nest...and straight into some ahrouns. I'm bait, essentially. And I need Blur when I'm casted into the pool...and Isaac for when I reel them in."
Full of small and futile rage Horace goes streaking out the door, into the kitchen. There's a pause of some twenty seconds or so before finally the back door squeaks its protest as he wrenches it open, and then he's gone, without closing it behind him.
Yi is listening to Jervis up until Horace interrupts with those bitter words and leaves. The Gnawer's brow lifts again, surprise writing itself plainly. "Ah, yes," she says after a small minute's wait, noticing Rianna stick her head in. Rubbing a fingertip along her chin, she slowly returns her attention to Jervis. "Just.. where are you planning to lead them to? The city...after all, is big. And the 'baddies' are not limited to just the hospital ground."
Stacey looks up at Rianna and just shakes her head. "I... don't know." She frowns and then tries to recover from her shock. "Um... there are still some olives in the fridge if you want any," the girl offers Rianna.
Rianna gives Jervis a long neutral look, as if trying to fix his face in her memory, and then sighs at Stacey. "Even if it was, he's gone." She hefts her pack, and explains, "Brought some sandwich fixings. Figured, I'm gonna hang around, I can contribute. Olives're good, though."
"I rest my case," is all Jervis says in response to Horace's fit. Another bite, finishing the sandwich. Swallow. "That's Elder Eddie's call to make," he says to Yi, "Though I'll make sure he doesn't put anyone but me and whoever's crazy enough to accompany me in any unnecessary danger. And just pray we don't cause enough of a ruckus to piss off the Crawler..."
Yi looks once more in the direction Horace retreated in, but doesn't let her gaze stay diverted for long. Instead it travels to the trio left, settling upon the unfamiliar Rianna even as she remarks to Jervis, "Tobin is not the kind to put anyone in unnecessary danger." Her dark eyes flick back upon the Fang for a moment, lipline thinning. "But, we take and use advantages if we have them. I can teach you the gift... if you let me know where to find you when I am done instructing Holly." Her gaze strays back to the stranger, Rianna, once more.
Stacey smiles up at Rianna. "That was kind of you," she says, "I know it'll be appreciated." Her attention is drawn back to the others at the mention of danger, and she resumes her listening.
Rianna offers, to Yi, "Rianna. Black Fury. Philodox. Passing through. Not a security risk. Honest." That said, she heads into the kitchen briefly, and emerges with some bread and olives. "Dunno about kind," she says, while listening to Yi and Jervis talk. "Just what I do."
Jervis gives a brief nod to the new-face Fury, then back to Yi, clearly not out of rudeness...just rather, an intentness with things otherwise. "Consciously, or intentionally, no, he won't. But Penis McDuck--" a small chuckle as he names his Elder by his old pet name from ages ago, "--is often more optimistic, and more of a Silver Fang, than is good for him. When he is "himself", anyway." As if to explain, after throwing away his Subway trash, he adds, "he let me get away with calling him that eveb when he was Cliath and I was still a cub..." He sighs, "Anyway, I'll be at the Rest, of course, and, if anywhere else is more convenient...just call me?"
Yi furrows her brow again at the Fang for the curious petname, shortlived though the expression is as she wipes it off and dips her head to Rianna. "Yi, Bone Gnawer and ragabash. If I were worried about security here, I would have told Stacey much earlier," she adds with a smallish smile to the young ahroun. Back to Jervis though, Yi nods as well. "I will find some time to speak with Tobin too, about this hospital raid he plans."
Stacey straightens up at the mention of her name and glances at Yi, looking confused about how to take that. "If there was a security risk, I'd have said somethin' long ago, and not let them talk like they did," she says, addressing the Fury. She frowns at Jervis' name for Tobin, but decides not to comment on it. "Tobin was out here yesterday in the Caern," she announces. "Although he might have left again. I think I said something wrong."
Rianna explains, "Nah. Yi was just looking at me like I was gonna steal the good china. No big thing. Want an olive, Yi?"
From the kitchen comes the sound of the sliding glass door opening and shutting. After a few seconds of stomping, Rae walks into the hallway barefoot with her guitar bag slung over her shoulder. She looks at those gathered with her tired eyes, before placing a dainty smile on her face.
Jervis shrugs at Yi a little. "Interested in helping?" He shakes his head, sighing again, but more softly, and more genuine than before. "I'm honestly tempted to give him the finger and flat out refuse to be any part of it...the ..." he shivers, slightly, discomfort oozing from him, if for an instant, "thing on the roof might just replace whatever we manage to kill before the next morning, you know."
Yi, not one to refuse food, smiles at the offer. "Sure," she replies readily along with a soft chuckle for the Fury's statement. Towards Jervis, though, she lifts her brows. "I am not one to refuse fighting the Wyrm, and the hospital /must/ be dealt with some day... but I will go with knowing what is to be done and being satisfied with the plans, first." Rae's entrance snips part of her continuance, but she resumes anyway. "Anyway, we can talk to Tobin. There is still matters of that farmhouse, but I think Brom is waiting until the moon is fatter." Her eyes slip back to Rae, observing the cub.
Stacey smiles as Rae enters and nods to the cub. "Practicing?" she asks, and then sits back down on the couch, starting to grow tired.
"If Brom's present, I ain't doin' shit," Jervis says, and then smiles, "otherwise I'm more than happy to help in any way I can, barring anything to do with mouse-spirits." He laughs, and at last turns to Rianna. "Sorry," he extends a hand to shake. "Jervis Michaels, Light-That-Is-Darkness. Silver Fang, Cliath, Ragabash."
Rianna gives Rae an interested look, and then gives Jervis one of those neutral looks again. She does, however, shake his head. "Rianna Makarios. Dances the Moon's Line. Black Fury Philodox. What's the thing on the roof?"
The youth lowers her head respectfully to those gathered, though the cubs movements are slow. "I actually gave myself a day off." Rae replies to Stacey, walking through the hallway to the living room. "Naturally, I did everything I've been wanting to do on a day off, at the same time- which didn't turn out to be much of a day off in retrospect." Her voice is cool and soft.
Yi slides back up to her feet after, a small stretch following. "Ah well, we will see. I should be heading back towards the city again, but I think I might stretch my legs a little outside, so." To Rianna she dips her head again, a polite gesture, before adding a lower dip to Stacey. To Jervis the Gnawer smirks. "The days are coming when we will no longer have luxury to choose the ones we stand beside. But, I understand. I will find you at Falcon's Rest later, Jervis."
Stacey pats the couch next to where she is sitting as Rae enters the room. "All at the same time? What all have you been doing?" she asks curiously. As the Bone Gnawer goes to leave, the girl looks up and nods to her. "Gaia guard your steps, Yi."
"Now you're starting to sound like me, Yi," the Fang says, "be careful with that. And: if you see Isaac, send him to me....as best you can."
"Hunt well, Yi." Rianna leans against a wall and munches bread.
"Isaac? That I will, Jervis." Yi heads for the door, a subtle humor in her glance back towards the others, before she exits out the front and down the porch steps. The Mystery Mobile is left parked outside, for now.
