Logfile from GarouMUSH.

Currently the moon is in the waning Full Moon phase (91% full).
It is currently 20:50 Pacific Time on Sun Jan 15 2006.
Currently in Saint Claire, it is a cloudy day. The temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius). The wind is currently coming in from the southwest at 3 mph. The barometric pressure reading is 30.27 and steady, and the relative humidity is 86 percent. The dewpoint is 36 degrees Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius.)

Regan Avenue East, Downtown
Red brick buildings rise, some of them crumbling from disrepair and disuse, others patched together by repairs. Graffiti covers some of the walls near street level, some rude, most crude, but the occasional drawing is meant for a lighter-hearted reaction. The graffiti becomes a colorful, almost gaudy mural at the western end of the district, an announcement of the Regan Hope Project's presence. Trash litters the majority of the gutters, from Harbor Park in the east across to just before the Regan Hope Project's domain, where the trash is less prevalent and the buildings less run-down. Small shops with apartments in the floors above them span a block here and corners there: delis, second-hand clothes, textiles, small restaurants, a grocery store. Sandwiched between the buildings are weed-choked empty lots.

A break in the cloud cover shows a brightly shining Eye of Luna beaming her gaze over the city streets. Between brick building and grimy gutters, though, shadows manage to escape the glare of the full moon. Within those very shadows, figures move to and fro, in and out as street hardened faces pass by. Beside the backlot of the pizza parlor, standing out on the sidewalk beneath a flickering lamp, Yi observes the parlor's customers. Even on a Sunday night, there are hungry pizza lovers out and enjoying the city's well known pie-joint.

In the shadows, there is a sound of rustling through the dumpster that is poorly lit as the light under it continues to flicker sporadically. The head of a dog or mutt or whatever Savages-Enemy is confused to be, peeks his eyes slightly over the edge of the dumpster and looks around.

Yi snaps her eyes towards the dumpster, soon as she picks out the rustling sound from the rest of the street and traffic noise conducive to the area. She squints a little more, night vision not entirely helpful in the dark. She issues forth a soft whistle- one she uses at times to identify herself to the canine riff raff of the streets. "Who's there?" she follows with afterwards. Just in case the dumpster diver is not canid.

Savages-Enemy leaps from out of the trash and onto the ground beside the dumpster, keeping to the shaodows. He shakes debris off his coat and replies to Yi that it is only Savages-the-Enemy.

"Oh, it is Aaron," Yi states with a pinch of self-reassurance. Moving further into the alley, she comes up to the ahroun and stoops so that she can meet him closer level to level. "What are you hunting inside the dumpster?" she queries, head tilting partly to one side.

Just curious, answers the mangy-looking hybrid. He tilts his head towards her and plants his bottom beside the dumpster.

"Have you seen any of our rat brothers around here?" the fostern asks, glancing about. Her human ears are less attuned and unable to block out the louder, more obvious sounds of cars and footsteps passing by.

Savages-Enemy is sometimes hard to hear when he has to make vocalizations but everything else is pretty easily understood. He lowers his ears and lowers his paw near his left leg. No, he replies. No rat brothers who want to talk.

Nodding, Yi turns her eyes from the lupus back towards the pizza parlor. "Around here," she notes quietly, "I would not be surprised. The rats are busy surviving." She pauses in her resumed observations, turning back to the wolf. Her eyes travel down what scarring she can see hidden beneath fur and shadow. "How about you? Everything well?"

Savages-Enemy tips his head and flares his nostrils briefly. Good, he responds. He looks in the direction of the pizza parlor and narrows his eyes at the bright light.

That, at least, elicits a small smile out of the ragabash. Yi reaches out a hand to ruffle the fur between the ears of the ahroun. "I am glad to hear it. Have you gotten further on dealing with the ice spirit?" The hand retracts back, rested upon her knee.

Savages-Enemy tips his ears back and relaxes as Yi ruffles his fur between his ears. He opens his eyes again as he is questioned. I am trying but everyone is busy and things seem more important than my task. He gives a sound that sounds like a whine although it is really hard to make out without any useable vocal cords.

Yi frowns a little at that. "Really? Well," she considers quietly, just loud enough to be a conversation between her and the lupus, "that is true. But at least I know you are not foolish enough to go into this strike alone." She wets her lips, breathing out with a puff of air. "Tell me who you have so far?"

Requiem, the husky-patterned hybird answers. Say-Prayers is looking for someone with the gift that makes weaver-things break and a Theurge with Mother's Touch.

Yi inclines her head, gaze turned towards the sky now. "I thought she learned that Gift herself," the ragabash searches thoughtfully. "And the gift that makes weaver-things break... ah! Alicia knows it. And my old packmate, Eamon, knows it too. But he is not here, so, I suppose that does not help." She looks back down to Aaron, apologetic. "I am sorry. I do not know that Gift myself, though I should like to learn it some day, if the spirits allowed."

Savages-Enemy thinks that you should learn it. Your... our war is in the city, you need to learn how to take advantage of the gift that Gaia can teach you in weaking Weaver-things that might hurt us. His eyes look hurt as he glances towards the Fostern. He wished this was easier, other's make it easier but then Savages-Enemy always sees some one die. He remarks to Yi that he doesn't want someone to die prematurely because he does not know what he is doing.

"One at a time," Yi gently brushes aside topic-wise. "Gifts may be taught by others who know them, but in the end it is the spirits that allow such magic." With the concern voiced, she tries out a reassuring smile. "It is not easy, and sometimes things might go wrong even if you plan the best of plans. But, Aaron, believe in yourself and believe in the ones who help you. Together, you can win."

Savages-Enemy tilts his head and then wags his tail slowly. Okay, he huffs. He leans his neck out, lightly nudging at his tribemate with his nose.

Yi again lifts her hand and places it lightly into the fur of the ahroun. "I believe you can do this - or else, I would not have given you such a task. It is hard, but you will learn a lot from it. In the meantime..." She glances from wolf to pizza parlor. "Wrong Way and I still have some work to do, trying to change this area from a place that is dangerous for our rat brothers and sisters, to one that is less so."

We all have work to do, ecxept those who do nothing and whine about how tasks are too hard for them or too dangerous. The wolf sighs and remains calm despite the moon. Then again, Yi isn't arrousing his anger either.

Yi chuckles lowly, having to agree. "But as long as /we/ are doing something, we will not be bored," she concludes. "Were you at the ahroun moot, recently?"

Savages-Enemy gives a sound and replies that he was.

Yi smiles again. "So, what are our great warriors planning on, then?" she asks curiously. She's affected a fairly calm, conversational tone, but the strain of keeping her voice down just above a whisper shows.

Too many things, the Ahroun remarks. His hears flicker upom his head. Some of the things that you have scouted. Guardians not happy about dangerous weaver-things in den outside of the bawn but they have probably been removed by now.

Yi blinks a couple times. "Dangerous weaver-things?" she echoes queryingly. Just as quickly, though, she puts that thought aside. "What things would count as 'too many'?"

The ones that hurt a lot of people and make loud sound when they go off. Savages tilts back his ears briefly and his wagging stops as he noses at his paw.

"Oh," Yi says with a clue, nodding to indicate her understanding. "But I doubt Jamethon or Touch Deer would let those things be around without a very good reason." That much faith she places in the Warder and Sept Alpha shows itself in her quiet conviction. "Anyway, are you planning on going on other attacks? Did you tell them about your own plans?"

Savages-Enemy quickly answers 'No.' to both questions, although he replies that he would like to join other missions.

Yi tilts her head, brows arching up. "Like?" she asks, filling in question words and leaving blanks.

Savages-Enemy tilts his own head in mirror to the older. Like what?

Yi clarifies, "What other missions do you want to go on? One of the ones the other fullmoons are leading?"

Savages-Enemy blinks his eyes. He replies to the Ragabash that he will go on any mission that he is needed.

Yi seems to be satisfied with that answer, breathing out again in a soft, tired sigh. "If only a few others were as eager as you," she laments. "What happens if you cannot find one who can use the Gifts you need on your strike?"

Say-Prayers has the gidt of healing and there is another I have been told who has the other that I am looking. I need to get in contact with her. His ears flicker on top of his head.

Yi looks interested, wanting more information. "Who is the other?" she asks, probing. "I suppose Kaz might know the gift as well. I learned that only those of fostern rank could know it, and I cannot think of any other who might have it."

Guards-Flame. The Ahroun makes a sniffing sound and squints his eyes as he smells the aroma of pizza. He then turns back to Yi and remarks that he met his odd man in the park last evening.

Smiling with the name of her packsister, Yi nods. "Alicia will be a great help. She is one of the most experienced Fostern in this sept," she assures. The mention of a man in the park, though, gets a confused look from the ragabash. "What man?"

Savages-Enemy emits a wolf-version of a shrug to the Fostern and then looks out towards the street. He sways a little and then staggers up to his feet and turns his head back to her. He remarks that he needs to go run, the moon is still bright but he will talk to you more about it soon.

Yi nods to the ahroun, pushing back up to her feet herself. The fostern makes just a bit of a grimace, gently massaging part of her right leg before looking back down to the fullmoon. "Be careful of the dog catcher," she remarks in a sisterly fashion, and her departing note to him.

Savages-Enemy gives a wink to Yi and lolls out his tongue in an amused pant before he takes off, keeping to the shadows as he leaves.
