Bawn: Central Forest(#2876RA)
The forest is dark and quiet. No, not quiet. Listening. The ancient firs rear up all around, branches interwoven in a dense roof of dark green. Fallen needles lie in a thick carpet on the ground, heaped up around the drifts of undergrowth clinging to the scarce patches of light reaching the forest floor. Every sound seems muffled, and the sharp scent of pine hangs in the air like the clouds of midges that swarm ceaselessly beneath the branches. Even the many deer who roam here seem to step more quietly than usual, and the songbirds seldom sing.
The forest spreads out around you in all directions.

Fluffed up and pausing a moment to yawn widely, Runner makes her way through the forest. Her direction, aimed for the Burial Mounds it seems or that area in general.

Circle Keeper moves along at a somewhat exhausted pace, the Uktena coming up from the south. His nose to the ground, the Ahroun seems to be searching actively for something or someone.

The Burial Grounds, where the honored dead of the Garou are placed, are located about two miles to the east of the Caern, appropriately secluded. The wards here are tenuous at best, and the mounds are guarded primarily by the vigilance of the Garou who patrol the Bawn, but the thick greenery and overhanging trees make it unlikely that they would be noticed by accident.

Runner perks her ears up to listen to a bird's call in the late morning, turning to look behind her where the winged alarmist called out. The wind shift from the demon's gate direction, taking the Gnawer's scent away from her and bringing it down south. Still testing, she lifts her nose to the wind and sniffs experimentally, looking and listening about for the cause of the alarm.

Circle Keeper doesn't look too up to tracking the Gnawer the entire distance, meandering to a stop. Taking a breath, he tips his head back and butt down as he howls through the trees: Circle Keeper is looking for Three-Blades-Rhya.

Runner, attention gotten now that she hears the Uktena's howl, shifts herself back south. An apologetic glance is sent towards the mounds, before the Gnawer howls back her wordless but identifiable reply. Her gait lengthens to a quick trot, and she can be smelled and heard coming before she is seen. When she is seen, her fur for the moment, seems quite a bit thinner on her left side, still regrowing. Once the ahroun is in her sights, she tilts her head questioningly. What is it, Circle Keeper?

Circle Keeper starts towards Yi's direction when she howls back, meeting her somewhere in the middle. Nose quivering, he sniffs at the direction of the Gnawer with considerable restraint. This one needs Three-Blades-Rhya's help. he responds. Needs to leave to fight things in the scab, but cannot leave bawn without someone to watch Caern for him.

Runner slowly lowers her haunches to the ground, still gazing at the bigger white wolf. Yes. Your challenge from the Warder is that. And?

Circle Keeper's tail curls in behind him, licking his jaws somewhat tensely. This one will give Three-Blades-Rhya pretty things if she will watch the Caern while he is gone.

Runner twitches her tail, eyeing the tense ahroun, but looking all too amused. Pretty things? What kinds of things?

Circle Keeper has pretty things with sinew going through them that is put around the neck. he answers uneasily. He paces forward a step, scraping at the ground with a foot.

Runner looks off into the woods as thinks on this, tail scraping side to side in metronomic time. Then it stops, laying flat behind her. Circle Keeper makes things from sinew - things to fight with too?

Circle Keeper's answer comes readily with that. This one is male, yes. He says that almost as if she should really expect that.

Runner rumbles quietly, Then, what do you ask of me Circle Keeper?

Circle Keeper peers at Runner, taking a half step to one side as his tail curls behind him. Three-Blades-Rhya wants fighting things instead of pretty things?

Runner stands up again, her tail lifting a level. What would I need of pretty things? This one is Garou, and also fights too you know. The look she gives the ahroun is wry, ears forward but angled to either side.

Circle Keeper looks almost caught, head ducking slightly. This one likes pretty things. he responds rather defensively. Backing up another two steps, his tail slowly uncurls behind him. Will give fighting things to Three-Blades-Rhya if she watches the Caern while this one bites the spirit. he amends.

Runner drops the wry look, looking mollified. I did not say I did not like pretty things, she replies, only that I need fighting things made from big teeth. For Savages-the-Enemy. It is secret.

Circle Keeper's head skews, ears perking some as he sniffs in her direction. His nasal inquiry is guarded, though, cautious of the city smells. Will give fighting things if she watches the Caern while he is gone, then. he agrees slowly.

How long will you need? the Gnawer asks. What do I do?

Circle Keeper will need as long as he is gone. Not long. he answers succinctly. Three-Blades-Rhya is to just watch the Caern and bawn and fight bad things that come.

Runner stares off to a side a little longer, ears splaying then standing up. Then she looks back to the ahroun. Will Pierces-the-Ice and the Warder approve?

Circle Keeper's sister will approve! he answers, all to readily. She thinks Three-Blades-Rhya is good to guard bawn, even if she smells like bad scab things. he offers rather chipper.

Runner's wry look starts to return, but doesn't fully develop. Then, one more task to ask from you in return, Circle Keeper. Tell Leaves-None-Behind and Savages-the-Enemy that I guard the Bawn in your place. I have done it before for Pierces-the-Ice. I have done it before, for a full turn of the moon. When do you go to the Scab, in my place?

Soon. He answers simply.

Runner lolls her tongue, given the reply. Then soon I will guard here, and you there, she affirms.

Circle Keeper's tail swishes behind him, clearly pleased, before he starts to lope off without so much as a goodbye. His pace is tired as he heads east.
