Logfile from GarouMUSH.
Currently the moon is in the waning Full Moon phase (93% full).
It is currently 16:11 Pacific Time on Wed Mar 15 2006.
Currently in Saint Claire, it is partly sunny. The temperature is 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7 degrees Celsius). The wind is currently coming in from the west at 5 mph. The barometric pressure reading is 29.96 and steady, and the relative humidity is 82 percent. The dewpoint is 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius.)
Big Red Barn(#3420RA)
The barn is built in the old style, a vast three level structure that is greater in height than a mere three stories, actually closer to five. Great wooden posts support the weight of the upper levels and roof, sunk into the hard-packed dirt floor of the first level like a sparse forest of regularly spaced, naked trees. The stalls and flagstones which once were here have been torn out to leave a rather open area where even crinos Garou may roam freely without fear of running into anything but the supports or the walls or the ladder at the back which allows access to the other two levels.
The first two levels are relatively open to each other, the second being only little wider than a catwalk going around all the walls but the front one, which has massive, twenty foot tall doors set into it. The third level is a true second floor except for a place cut out that allowed hay to be tossed down to the ground floor when the farm was actually worked. Now, it is a hayloft where Garou can sleep outside of the house.

BarnYard
Vera makes her way toward the barn, mostly to insure the the doors are kept wide open to dissipate the foul smell.
Having had a look at the outside of the barn earlier, and investigated the inevitable scent of burned flesh hanging like an irrepressible air around the barn, Yi has now done her circling around the inside. The Gnawer ragabash climbs down from the ladder to the upper floor, skipping the last few rungs and hopping the rest of the way. She lands solidly, lightly, albeit with a quiet grunt deep in her throat as she favors her right leg. As Vera comes in, she looks up and across towards the entrance. "Afternoon," she greets the adren. "Some very interesting artwork outside, hm?"
"Tell me about it," Vera states sourly. "Hopefully, the smell will dissipate soon."
Yi lifts her brows at the Shadow Lord's moody reply. "Some herb burning would help. Leonard called it 'sage'," she notes, striding towards the center and examining the leftover bits of ash. "What happened?"
"Fomori. They were spray painting the outside of the barn," Vera replies. "And several other buildings in the area. They were dealt with and the bodies burnt, as they were obviously not human anymore."
Even her best expression of surprise can't erase the dry humor of that statement. "Then, things are not so bad. A few fomori at the farmhouse, nothing to worry about." She pokes a finger through the ash, examining it thoughtfully before looking up. "I found Gypsy. She is not here anymore."
Vera grunts. "Good. Hopefully the young fool will learn some Wisdom and stay the fuck away from Cristofer. Her actions have left him mentally unbalanced and he was in the farmhouse when the fomori came. It didn't help the situation, at all." The Adren draws in a deep breath, clearly burying away her anger. "How do you know for certain that she is gone?"
Shrugging, the Gnawer replies, "She got on a plane. She should not be in the state anymore, at least."
Vera sighs. "That'll have to do. The Fomori that came her were wearing SCCU clothing and had a lot of the beer Mister Fister on them."
Yi nods once, as the topic is switched off. "That falls into the territory of the Fenris pack," she does point out. "But, I believe someone of the Black Furies was looking into it too."
Vera nods. "I've already informed the Fenris pack. Which Black Furies?"
Yi shakes her head as she stands up and straightens out. "You would have to ask a galliard, because I do not remember. That was not my concern at the time. The tire yard fire... though. Was."
Vera nods. "Considering the strength of Havoc, I was planning to assign them that project."
"It is something to be said, when packs must be assigned their positions and goals," Yi comments with a touch of annoyance penetrating her quiet voice. "But I understand. Anything else you need of me, Sept Alpha?"
"You did the scouting, so I would like to to talk with them of what you saw there," Vera continues, then her eyes go hard. "While I realize that you are a questioner, as I am, and that you were doing your job admirably at my announcement... Next time, you will wait until I have finished speaking," Vera states crossly, clipping each word. "You will find that most of your questions have already been answered if you can hold your tongue and wait respectfully. It will also avoid you making such gross and blatantly incorrect assumptions about my intentions. Once I am finished and you still feel the need to act as the Questioner, you are more then welcome too and I will happily answer all of your questions. Do I make myself clear?"
Yi puts her attention upon the Shadow Lord more fully, though there is an indication that she loses focus for just a second before she snaps back. Her reply isn't immediate. "It would be clearer if you told me what you are talking about," she ventures slowly, losing the humor about her person as she is addressed in harder tones.
Vera's jaw clenches. "When I made my announcement about Gypsy, you insisted on interrupting me repeatedly, before I could get halfway through my announcement, let alone finish it. Had you simply waited, nearly all of your questions would have been answered."
Yi ahs as the specifics are given. "Forgive the interruptions," she replies, again slowly as she picks out words. "But I felt that it would have been best to ask the questions before I forgot them."
"If you forget your Questions that easily," Vera grumbles. "You are a very poor questioner. You need only have waited ten fucking minutes."
Yi smirks slightly, half-turning. "As a fellow newmoon, I thought you would have appreciated them," she adds, looking towards the wood of the barn walls. "It is not that I am a poor questioner, but that you would have appeared less solid in your announcement's center, I think. As long as their eyes were on me as the Fool, then you would appear stronger. That is not how you wanted it?"
Vera snorts softly. "Clearly, you have not been listening to me. I have already stated that you were doing your job admirably. I did appreciate you questions and have already said as much. However, I am your Alpha and expect a certain amount of respect. Even if all that means is allowing me to finish fucking speaking, before being badgered with Questions formed from assumptions and partial information. A good Questioner knows when to sit and wait, so that their Questions are based on real information, not imagined. You stopped me from finishing my announcement. An important announcement, in which I would have explained further had you given me a fucking chance. You did me no favours Gnawer. You only made my announcement more broken and difficult to follow. As I stated earlier, I would have more then welcomed ALL of your questions once I had finished speaking."
"I was not listening, no," Yi says in reply. "Only hearing." She lifts a hand to rub at her shoulder, taking in a long, deep breath despite the smell.
"Perhaps then," Vera rumbles, "You learn to listen as well as hear, then think before you speak." The Adren closes her eyes briefly and pinches the bridge of her nose. "I will always welcome your Questions, but I ask that you show a little patience next time. I had intended to explain Clemency's roll in my decision and ultimate reason I had chosen the path that I did. Gypsy was a naive fool. In banning her, I have prevented Clemency from killing her for the insult to her Tribe and the mental damage she inflicted on Cristofer. She now has the opportunity to return to her Family, possibly learn a little Honor and Wisdom, and continue to serve Gaia."
Yi exhales sharply afterwards, her lungs evidently regretting the long breath. "I know," she coughs out. "You do not have to tell me why. Gypsy... had more wrong with her than right, but it was not right to destroy her renown so utterly. Your words are powerful, Culls-the-Herd-rhya. Few here would feel they would be able to challenge them."
Vera shakes her head. "You have no seen what she did to Cristofer, have you?"
"No," Yi replies, "I have not met this kinfolk. But I trust Clemency is able to handle her own tribe's issues. After all, she was my packmate under Stag in the past."
Vera purses her lips. "Clemency wished to ban Gypsy as well, otherwise I would not have stepped in. In the kinsman's case, Clemency's Rage is only making the issue worse. Cristofer holds the blood of my Tribe and the Silver Fangs in equal parts. Due to that, Clemency have given me permission to help watch over the kinsman. Clemency, for all her Honor, and Glory, is driven by her Rage and her mere presence is enough to terrify most kinfolk. She recognizes this and that she is not suited to dealing with the current situation." Vera pauses for a moment, rubbing at the back of her neck. "Gypsy followed the kinsman through the streets of the city after a conversation with him. I do not what was said, but that along with being stalked seemed to unhinge his mind. I was forced to track him down and find him, before he could do himself permanent harm through drugs and drink. Since then, his behavior has been unstable and a deep resentment toward the Garou has bubbled toward the surface. While he may appear unharmed on the surface to those who do not know him, his mind is not what it once was and I do not know if it will ever recover."
Yi tenses down her shoulderline after something the Shadow Lord says. "So, the Fangs have others as well. They could act as the glass between," she voices softly. "There must also be other things wrong, not just what Gypsy had done. Kinfolk do not turn on Garou overnight." When she does look at Vera, it is with a cold look of her own.
Vera nods. "You're right. The man has a history of abuse in his past. In which his Grandfather killed a human lover of his youth and the child she bore him. An arranged marriage, where his wife sorely mistreated him before her death."
Vera says "If you wish to question Clemency's decision for allowing me to become involved with Cristofer, I suggest you speak with her yourself."
"I have no reason," Yi breathes out, "to question Clemency's decisions to allow you to watch her kin." The Gnawer clears her throat, looking a little more annoyed than before. "Where does the kin stay?"
"It is not my place to tell you that," Vera replies curtly. "If you wish to speak with him, I would strongly suggest speaking with Clemency first."
"If I feel the need," Yi says shortly, her sentence clipping off. "Is there anything else?" she asks after another second or two.
Vera shakes her head. "No. There is not."
Yi nods shortly, and then proceeds to start out the open doors of the bawn. Before she exits, though, she pauses. "There should be an auspice moot soon," she comments, eyes gazing down at the smoothly packed dirt.
Vera watches at the Gnawer begins to leave. "You said earlier that you thought it was wrong to take Renown away from Gypsy. I would like you to remember that Renown can be regained, given time. I warned her and gave her the opportunity to leave, my other choice what to help Clemency track the Strider down and that would have been an encounter that Gypsy would not have survived." A careful breath is drawn. "Good. It would be good to gather all the no-moons in one place."
"You are the head. The Alpha. What you say of anyone can be deadly as poison," Yi responds. "I do not question your decisions. Only, I hope to continue following under wise leaders who remember there are those who are not as quick to understand our ways."
"She was not a cub," Vera replies. "If she did not understand our ways, she should have never been a Cliath. That would be her Elders' failing. A Cliath is an adult and must accept responsibility for their actions as an adult and not be given leeway, as a cub would."
"No, she was not a cub," Yi says quietly still. "Her Elder's failing is a mirror. A sign." The ragabash wets her lips, saying no more.
"And in returning to her family and her Elder, Gypsy will be given a second chance," Vera states clearly. "She will recover, as will her Renown, and she will be a Wiser Garou for the experience."
Yi utters a soft comment more to herself, given her native tongue, before she dips her head. "Gaia grant you good hunting," she says to the elder ragabash before turning her back to the alpha and walking out.
