Currently in Saint Claire, it is clear outside. The temperature is 56 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius). The wind is currently coming in from the east at 5 mph. The barometric pressure reading is 30.15 and rising, and the relative humidity is 86 percent. The dewpoint is 52 degrees Fahrenheit (11 degrees Celsius.)

The Sept Compound(#2075RAM)
Sweeping branches of trees form a sort of natural roof overshadowing most of this clearing. In the center of the clearing is a fire pit with several old logs polished from use for seats. A stack of firewood is discreetly piled up at the base of an old spruce under a tarp. At the edge of the clearing and extending back a bit into the woods resides a rough wooden structure with a slate tile roof. A stone slab rests off to one side of the clearing in a place of some prominence. The meadowlike profusion of grasses and other plants has an unusually high concentration of brilliant flowers, which attract a number of bees and butterflies. (+view works here)
A faint trail leads off to the east, and a bit north.

While the crescent moon hangs in the clear night skies above, there is another light that penetrates the darkness of the bawn. The low flames of a small fire in the Sept Compound indicate the presence of its keeper, Yi, as she gnaws upon a small rabbit bone. The smell of fireroasted rabbit coats the area, detectable in all forms and even more so in lupus. The fostern, however, can be found in her human shape for this task of firetending and dinner eating.

Matt comes from the direction of the farmhouse, with a raw leather satchel at his side. A bag that was made to carry things on the bawn and without bringing more weaver then needed. Matt gives a slight grin as he smells the rabbit, but he stops at the edge of the compound, before calling out, "I am Matt Spackleheimer, Cub of the Fianna, born to the Galliard moon. I seek the Guardian Yi-Rhya. Is she about?"

Yi looks up at the random call, small bone shifting from one side of her mouth to the other. She doesn't answer until she takes the bone out, though. "I'm here, Matt. Come over," she summons him more informally, adding a wave in his general direction to get his attention. And whenever he gets closer, she smiles at the cub in a wry sort of way. "You do not always have to be so formal, you know, especially around a Bone Gnawer."

Matt quickly scrambles over closer. He gives a slight grin, "I want to make Cole-Rhya proud of everything I do. And giving the proper greeting, even when it's not needed, would make him happy." he gives a warm smile. "And...it reminds me that I need to respect everyone."

Yi hms thoughtfully, and nods understandingly. "Rabbit?" She holds out the long thin branch, upon which the prey animal has been spitted and roasted - and largely eaten. The best parts have already been sliced off, from the look of it. "That is a good philosophy," she notes offhandedly, "though as a galliard it might also be good to study the customs of the tribes, and greet them in the ways they are comfortable. It shows respect for their ways, too."

Matt oohs softly, and takes a very token piece of the rabbit, nibbling on it before he says "I came out here for a reason Yi-Rhya. I...didn't know that the guardians were so limited in diet, so I've been trying to find the different guardians and bring them food." He pulls the raw leather bag for a moment, reaching in to pull out some fruit and vegtables, including a small melon. "It's all raw fruit and vegtables. So there's as little weaver as possible in it."

"Oh!" Yi replaces the spitted rabbit against the fire, tossing the gnawed on bone into the flames as well and wiping a hand on her pant leg. No sinks out here. "That's very kind of you," she remarks as she accepts some of the produce. The ragabash examines the various items brought out, and then looks up to smile. "And to tell you a truth, the Wyldlings have gone from their watch in the Umbra now. Our 'Weaver' things work again, and I am just glad they did not decide to work their magics and unravel our clothes in the process. Still, it does not hurt to remember the words of the Groundskeeper and Warder."

Matt gives a nod, and stuffs the rest of the fruit back into the bag. He offers the whole thing to Yi. "There is a few more bags at the farmhouse, and I'm gonna try to get fresh fruit and veggies for each guardian once a month if I can. Noone else is doing it...and I'm betting you'd like a bit more to your rabbit then just fur and bones, right?"

Yi points out, "And fire." The ragabash looks back to the dancing flames, considering it in her gaze before turning back with a nod to the cub. "That is kind of you, Matt. And I am sure the Guardians appreciate the gesture - I know I do. Still, I am curious. What brings such generosity?"

Matt tilts his head. "Well...Reggie was at the farmhouse. And said that Alesia caught people hunting on the bawn, and that there's not enough food. And...well...I thought, that all the guardians eat then are the few berries they can find, and what they can hunt...so thought I'd help them out with other food."

Yi nods slowly, although she has to chuckle a bit. "Guardians are not the only ones who would not have enough food if everyone hunted here," she replies. "The animals themselves are always looking for the chance to find food for themselves, and their young ones. It is balance, and we must work to keep that." She quirks her head next, peering intently at the cub. "Are you thinking of being a Guardian one day?"

Matt uhhs, and looks about. "I don't know. Never thought that far ahead. I'm still working on making sure Cole is proud, and that I can become everything that he believed I can be."

Yi flicks out one of her knives, the blade coming from somewhere on her personage though in the flickering, dim-lit dark it's hard to tell where exactly. She uses the knife to first cut into one of the fruits, sectioning it before popping the slice into her mouth. The next section is offered out to the cub. "And what does Cole believe you can be?" she queries curiously.

Matt mms and uhhs a bit more, "A garou who thinks before he acts?" he seems a bit hesitant on that. "Cole-Rhya wasn't going to take me as a Fianna cub...but, when I told him about how much I had thought about the different tribes when I needed to find one, and laid it all out...he was willing to take me on. Noone else has ever taken a risk like that for me. I'd be willing to follow him to the depths of the wyrms lair for him."

Yi works away on the fruit, precise in her slicing and taking her time to be so. "And what do you believe yourself to be able to be?" she continues, her tone still curious and investigating.

Matt takes the bit of fruit offered from before, and nibbles on it a moment, then says "I don't really know. I'm sorta...confused and lost. I mean, I know I'm a good cub. I work at being the best cub I can be. But..." he looks around a moment, "Then Laora...-Rhya showed up. And now I don't know what to do. Or what I'm doing."

Yi pauses in her fruit cutting, looking up from doing so to the cub. "Laora? Who is that?" she wonders at him.

Matt looks to Yi, "She is a Cliath Galliard Fianna, a guest to the sept at the moment. But...recently, when I walked into the kitchen in the farmhouse. She told me to sit and have a drink. When I told her the rules on drinking Cole gave me...she instead insulted him by calling him a mule loving pussy, and then pouring me a glass that had more booze then what Cole said I should have. I'm not supposed to start a fight...so I sat and drank, and kept quiet while she insulted all the other Metis in the farmhouse."

Yi starts to frown at the explanation, and by the time it does end, the Guardian's bristling. The ragabash looks away from the cub to the fire, staring into the flames with narrowed eyes. The grind of her blade against the pit of the fruit in her hand can be heard even over the pop and crackle of the fire. "I think," she says once she speaks up again, "this Laora will have quite an adventurous visit while she's here."

Matt just looks down, "As soon as I see Cole-Rhya...I will be telling him the words Laora has said." he pauses a moment, "I do not know why she thinks it is okay to insult our elder, one who outranks her." he pauses, still looking down.

"Think of it as... a Challenge," Yi muses thinly, "to his leadership. His wisdom or honor, if you will. The Litany only says we submit to those higher in station -- but it will be up to Cole to enforce the rule on his part." With a quick twist, Yi pops out the pit from the fruit and moves it into her hand.

Matt gives a quick nod. "Yi- ..." He seems ready to add Rhya before he says "I would like to get back to the farmhouse tonight. If you will excuse me?" He gives a slight smile for a moment.

Yi makes no move to stand, but she nods to the cub. "Of course," she answers him, using a cuople of fingers to act as her wave of farewell. "Give my regards to Kaz and the others. Oh!" She interrupts herself as something occurs to her, and she looks over. "You're a galliard, so allow me to pass on some news. If you see Kaz, tell her Rina is hoping we can keep an eye on 2900 Concord. It's... very dear to her." The ragabash considers some more before adding, "And I wouldn't worry about Laora. Much. Just, as a galliard... don't be afraid to speak your mind, mm?"

Matt gives a nod to Yi, and waves as he leaves. "Goodbye Yi. Gaia guard, Luna guide, and may the Wyrm lay dead and broken at your feet."

"And Gaia grant you good hunting," Yi replies softly as the cub goes, returning to her dinner with a few more additions for dessert. Yum.
